Always Have, Always Will: Sophitz

"Nope! Nope nope nope!" Sophie announced, staring with horror at the torture devices in front of her.

"Come on... I'll catch you if you fall," Fitz tried, widening his eyes. "Pleeease?"

"I'm probably gonna break my head open. Or manage to find a cliff to fall off of," Sophie told him. "You know what happened at the roller rink! Never again!"

"It's not roller skating, it's ice skating. Completely different. Plus, I won't let you fall," Fitz promised.

Sophie bit her lip, Fitz sending her a puppy dog face that cracked her resolve. "Fine. But when I fall, it better not give me a serious injury."

Fitz laughed. "It won't. Now put on your ice skates, let's go!"

Once the skates had been fastened securely- though not without significant struggle on Sophie's part- Fitz guided her towards the ice, warm hand on her back to support her. It almost distracted her from the inevitable injury that was about to occur.

Almost.

He stepped out on the ice, almost annoyingly steady. He gently tugged Sophie out too, letting her put almost all of her weight on him as she slipped and slid. The ice was slippery, of course, and navigating slippery things had never been her forte, especially not in skates, and certainly not heels.

She clung to Fitz's hand in a death grip, keeping stock still as he tried to skate backwards, tugging her with him. "Come on, Soph," he teased. "No need to pull off my hand."

She blushed, loosening her hold the tiniest sliver. "I think we can... start... moving now."

Fitz flashed his movie star grin, moving the tiniest bit closer to Sophie. He loosened her grip on his hand, swiveling so they were standing side by side. "Do you trust me?"

"Yes, of course I trust you," Sophie didn't like where this was going-

"Good." Fitz pulled Sophie forward, ignoring the embarrassing squeal that escaped her throat.

After the initial terror, Sophie started getting into the rhythm, loosening her hold on Fitz's hand and leaning into the form. She even started to enjoy the gliding feeling, the smooth way the skates slid across the ice.

Soon, she started to feel the burn of the movement, the way the skates were cutting into her ankles, and took a break with Fitz.

She leaned into his arm, and it automatically went around her. She relished the warmth that seeped into her, snuggling into his side. He pressed a kiss to her head, sending a shower of sparks into her brain, and suddenly she wasn't tired at all.

He moved to her cheek, lightly touching it with his lips. Sophie turned to face him, a smile curving her lips. Fitz touched those next, and Sophie leaned into the kiss, deepening it and allowing the warmth it caused to move through her body, until she couldn't feel the cold at all.

"Thanks for this," Sophie whispered against his lips. "I know I was a pain about it, but I really enjoyed it."

Fitz laughed, sending vibrations into her toes. "I'm glad it was fun."

"This is better, though," Sophie told him, pressing her lips back to his. He pulled back for a second to nod, before continuing the kiss.

"Love you," He murmured.

"Love you too," Sophie replied, happiness shooting through her body. "I always have. And I always will."

She rested her head against his chest.

Life was like ice skating, sorta. It was hard, slippery, and painful. Sometimes you fell down, and it was hard to get back up. But she did get back up, and she kept on going, and she got better.

With the help of Fitz, of course.

She smiled, cuddling into her boyfriend's arms, which tightened around her.

He would always be there to help her back up.

I am mildly... meh with that one. Not the best.... maybe ice skating wasn't the way to go

Oh well

Cute, though!
