『 your p.o.v 』

          "Eve."

          I hummed in response to tell the vampire that I'm listening as I continue to skim over the many books on the large bookshelves in his room. Honestly, I wonder if he's read all of these...

          "If you had to choose just one of us... Would you choose me?"

          My hand stopped over one of the spines of a smaller book that I've occasionally seen Kou steal to read when he goes on long schedules for his idol work. Slowly turning around, I looked to Ruki only to see him sitting on his bed, hunched over some as his elbows rest on his knees and he looks down at the floor. I knew something had been bothering him, but, I didn't know it had to do with myself.

          "Ruki." I murmured his name as I walked over to him and crouched down so that I was in his direct line of sight. "Where's this coming from?"

          The black haired vampire focused those beautiful blue eyes of his on me, one of his hands reaching out to cup the side of my face. "If you could choose just one of us, Eve, who would you choose?"

          Lifting one of my hands up to cover his larger one that's still cupping my cheek, I smiled up at him. "I'd choose you, Ruki. We've been through this before-"

          "I know we have. It's just, I want to be sure this is what you want- that I am who you want." Ruki murmured.

          "There's no one else I'd rather be with." I reassured as I stood back up and moved to stand between the black haired vampires legs. Ruki didn't hesitate in wrapping his arms around my back and pressing his face into my stomach, holding me close as I lazily brushed through his hair. "You know, one day you're really going to have to explain what's going on here."

          "I will..." Ruki said albeit muffled due to the fact he's still keeping his face pressed into my stomach.

          I smiled fondly down at the usually so strong and stoic vampire. "This whole "Eve" thing, I really wonder about it sometimes." I admitted, moving my hands a little lower to brush the hairs near the nape of his neck. "I've thought about asking Kou or Yuma or even Azusa about it, but, I know you'll tell me when the timing is right."

          Ruki's arm's around me tightened some. With a sigh, he looked up at me. "Why do you believe in me to such an extent? I stole you away from the Sakamaki's, I just took you without asking. But you never fought me. I don't understand why you stay with me Eve."

          "Honestly," I said, my smile faltering some, "I don't know why I never fought back. Though I don't regret it."

          "You don't?"

          "Not at all." I said with a small laugh. "As unconventional the start to this relationship may be, which was very unconventional, I'm happy to know that I can make you happy."

          Ruki gently grabbed one of my hands and held the palm of it to his lips. I could feel his fangs brush over the sensitive skin as he kissed it, though he never bit me. "Sometimes I wonder if someone else would be a better Adam." He murmured.

          "Adam..?" I repeated.

          "My brothers and I, we can't become Adam." Ruki said with a dejected laugh, pressing his forehead into my stomach as he looks down to the floor again. "We're not pure bloods, it wouldn't work no matter how much I wish it to."

          Slowly, I returned to brushing through his hair. "You're my Adam even if it isn't in the sense you're wanting." I said softly. "I know Reiji has said some things at school about how "your plan" won't work or whatever- but I don't care about some plan. Whether you're Adam or not, you are the vampire I love."

          "I'll have to defy him."

          "And who's "him"?"

          Ruki sighed as he looked up again only to pull me down to sit on his lap, his arms still wrapped protectively around my waist. "Karlheinz." He said simply.

          My eyes widened at that. "The Vampire King?"

          The black haired vampire nodded his head. "Yes, the Vampire King himself."

          "Then lets defy him together." I said, a smile tugging at the corners of my lips.

          "It's not that simple."

          "But your life isn't his to control."

          "He saved mine and my brothers lives Eve, I can't just ignore that fact." Ruki said softly.

          I sighed. "I know, you've told me. But if you know this plan of his won't work out for you or your brothers, then, what's the point of continuously trying? Forget him and let's live happily together without his influence."

          Ruki looked into my eyes with his mesmerizing blue ones before chuckling some to himself. "You're truly something ___."

          Smiling, I leaned in and pecked his lips. "I could say the same about you. And, to reiterate my response from earlier so you never forget it, If I could choose just one of you to be with for the rest of my life, I'd choose you, Ruki.

          I'd choose you."
