This oneshot is based off one of my very first stories I wrote (in fourth grade) It's just going to be it's first chapter, but better grammar and more story depth I guess
(No humans exist in this world, and pokemon act more like humans. A RP based off this world is a work in progress)

"UGH. Are we there yetttt???" The zoroark groaned. Four pokemon were walking on a trail to the park. They had the tendency to do this every Sunday, since that was a good day to battle all sorts of strong pokemon!

"Good things come to those who wait" The Lucario scolded, as he folded his arms. "But it's soooo hottt!! I don't wanna wait a second longer with all this fur..!" The zoroark- Toka, said in a dramatic tone, tilting her head back.

Then the chesnaught piped in. "You think it's hot for you?? I'm wearing this big peace of armor out here!" He hissed.
Toka raised a brow. "Can't you just take it off?"

Kuri, the chesnaught, was now questioning his life's decisions "Uh-" "Hah! You crazy kids!" Kai the greninja simply butt in, with a cheeky grin. He adjusted the satchel on his shoulder, so it doesn't fall off.
"You're the kid here!" Toka growled, pointing at him. Kai edged closer to her. "But I'm older than you" the greninja giggled, giving the zoroark a boop on her nose. She huffed at this, flicking her ear.

"And we're both older than you" Ion observed, referring to both him, and the chesnaught. Kuri simply nodded at this, making a 'Mhm' noise.
The greninja looked amused at this, winking. "Hehe.. Guess you're right!~" he giggled, soon walking on ahead of the three in a laidback, but excited way.

Toka raised a brow at this, cocking her head to the side.
"How to you always have so much energy?" she asked, clearly puzzled. Both Kuri and Ion were, in a way, confused at this as well.

"I'm just a naturally energetic mon'~" Kai said in a annoying, but endearing way as he continued to walk on. (If he wasn't wearing his tongue scarf already, he would have been sticking his tongue out)

"Hopefully he'd lose all that energy after walking and battling today" Kuri whispered to Toka and Ion, who nodded at this. Kai just grinned wider at this.
"I wonttt!!~" He giggled.

Finally, the park of the town Tranquil (the town they live in) came into view. There was shade.. SHADEEE.. Finally, something that would lessen the uncomfortable heat beating down on the grounddd!!

"YESSS!!" Both Toka and Kuri looked absolutely relieved, and got in the shade as soon as they all walked into the park, walking past the gate. Kai chucked at this, and Ion looked amused himself.

The park was a nice and cool area, filled with tons of shade, lush greenery, and plenty of benches to sit on. In the distance, you could maybe hear the faint 'shhhh' of a waterfall which is located nearby.
But one of the best things about this park.. Is the fact that it's a BATTLING PARK as wellll!!

All four of the pokemon then sat in the shade, as Kai grabbed his satchel to take out the contents:
A notebook, and a pen.
The notebook was to be used for marking the wins and losses of the friends in the battles today.

The greninja enthusiastically opened the notebook, and written all their names down with the pen, in neat letters.

Toka | Kuri | Ion | Kai

"Alright! We're all sett!!!" he said grinning, and standing up to stretch.
Kuri looked the least enthusiastic out of them all, but he was still pretty hyped. Kai being the most enthusiastic.

"Ima battle first because no one volunteerrreedddd!!~♪" Kai grinned in an annoying manner. "Hey, no fair!" Toka said in a frustrated tone. "It's absolutely fair!" Kai giggled. "Hehe~ be sure to mark my win or loss!" the greninja said, already walking off to go find someone to battle.

"Ugh" Toka groaned. Kuri and Ion just looked concerned. Kai sure could be a handful sometimes :\

"Ugh. Are we there yet???" Toka groaned. "Good things come to those who wait." Ion lectured. "But it's sooooo hot. I'm the one who has the most fur, it's not fair!" Toka exaggerated. "You think it's hot for you!? I'm wearing a big piece of armor out in the hot sun!" Kuri said. "Guys stop! Kai looks like he's gonna cry because of your yelling!" Ion said. "Fine," Both Toka and Kuri said. " Kai, why do you want us to walk to the battlefield again? It's so far." Kuri questioned. "It's good exercise! You know what they say, everyday is leg day!" Kai said happily. "Besides, we're gonna battle there, it helps get the blood pumping," "Yeah, yeah," Toka said, almost sounding annoyed.)
Yes. This whole oneshot was just THIS ↑ one paragraph.
