Obsidian

The shiny flygon lay on the grey sun-baked boulder, stretching out his limbs while staring at a black, glassy rock. The sun basking along his bright green and blue scales.

It was a nice day today. The sky, blue and orange and purple, cloudless and the sun shining.
A soft breeze blew past, swaying along the tall blades of grass and leaves up in the willow trees. Bird pokemon chirped their beautiful songs, and canine pokemon raced in the fields.

A rather grumpy looking hydregion lay next to the boulder, looking as if he was ready for a nap.
And that was a good thing. This grumpy guy needed to relax his permanent-by-day grumpy furrow of his brow.

The shiny flygon- Sierra, continued staring at the rock dreamily, tilting it in all sorts of angles, all of them looking absolutely beautiful either way.
Obsidian was Sierra's favorite kind of rock. Things like desert glass peaked at the flygon's interest, but obsidian was something even more special.

To some pokemon, obsidian was just a black rock. That's it. They think there is nothing else to it.
But to Sierra, it was something much more.
Well, yes, it WAS a black rock. But from an angle, it was a see-through material that looked like the lens of another world.
The murky clear color clashing with the black looked hypnotizing. Sierra hardly could take his eyes off of it.

Until his 'friend', Rox the hydregion had to snap him out of it.

"Why are you staring at that rock for so long? You could be doing ANYTHING else at all with this time, yet you spend it looking at that rock" Rox stated/asked, with a hint of a growl in his voice.

Sierra frowned. "What's not to like about staring at obsidian? Just look at it" The shiny flygon replied, cupping the black rock in his talons.
It gleamed when tilted in this area, shining a glittering beautiful light.

Rox cocked his head to the side.
"Yeahh. I don't see it. I think you're just really REALLY weird" the hydregion stated, before curling up and taking another nap.

Sierra layed his back on the boulder, and sighed.
"At least looking at rocks all day is better than napping all day." he mumbled.

I wrote this based on past me in science class when the lesson was to look at rocks.

Also! Conclusion of the story!:
Sierra would marry an obsidian rock if that was possible.
