Give
Give is to let something or someone go even when it or they mean a lot to you.
Even though Jessy had been able to hold a lot of things from her child hood close the one thing she could not let go of was her best friend and at one point boyfriend, Mark. Mark and Jessy were close and very happy to be around each other. One day Mark moved away to go to college, his dream college at that, Jessy really wished he could stay but she just had to let him go; for, his dreams were waiting. After five years of his college training, he had finally come home. Jessy went to the local college and had begun working a small local job. She lived in the same house as her child hood and had heard in the store Mark was coming home. She was thrilled to see her best friend and ex-boyfriend. She waited on her front porch the day he was to arrive, her excitement was over whelming. She saw a new blue Honda pull up to Mark's house and watched him get out. He looked so grown up and his black hair was still in long curls around his face. He rubbed his hand on the stubble sprouting from his chin. Then he walked to the other side of the car and opened the door for a woman about his age. Jessy didn't think anything of her but her head was trying to think it over. As she approached Mark she called out his name "Mark!" He turned at the sound of his name and smiled happily. "Jessy!" he walked over to her and hugged her tightly soon letting go "How have you been? You look great by the way." She blushed really light pink and replied with "Thank you, I'm really good. How have you been?" He said "I've been really good too, and bringing that up I would like you to meet someone." he pulled Jessy over to the girl he opened the door for and said " Jessy meet Abby, Abby meet Jessy my childhood friend." Abby stuck out her hand for Jessy to shake. Jessy saw a ring on her middle finger on her left hand and Jessy felt her heart sink as she shook Abby's hand. Abby said softly "Hi it's nice to meet you." Jessy said in that same soft tone "same here." she pulled her hand away and said "I'll leave you two to your unpacking. Feel free to swing by my house if you want to get to know each other more. Mark knows where I live." Jessy walked away wanting to leave the situation behind her. She closed her door behind her and walked to the kitchen to get a mug of coffee to caffeinate her troubles away. She knew something like this would happen eventually but she just didn't expect the pain that came with it. Jessy swallowed her pride and pain and prepared for an evening with Mark and Abby. She knew it would be hard but it was apart of life and she was happy with the time she had gotten with him. Jessy knew that there was a long road ahead but she was ready for every twist, turn, cross road and pit stop that came along with it.
