After this small incident, we made our way to the real battlefield and this time there was no beast sopping us. Some minor amount of demons were on the way to the troops but they showed no effort in slaying them all. It seemed as if this little force I had behind me wouldn't be able to be stopped by anything at all.

Then it was finally time!

I started to see the plain field where there was a lot of smoke coming from. The heavy scent of blood was just horrible but what was worse was all the screams coming from all these people. The war was going on in full manor and I could even sense the bloodlust of four people. These people had to be Ryan the duke and two of his sons.

"ROOOAAAAAAARRRRR!!!"

Honestly we made haste to arrive and it seemed we arrived at a good timing because when I let out another scream and came flying right above the tree lines, I could tell how relieved everyone was. The first target I focused on was a nearby beast. I basically threw myself at it and got it to the ground even laying on the back as well. It was surprised to see me as I had concealed my presence but now that I was there, there was no need to do this anymore.

"THEY ARRIVED!"

"HELP ARRIVED!"

"WE CAN DO THIS!"

"DON'T LOSE FOCUS NOW!"

Some started to cheer up and I could only think about my men who would do that while others started panicking and running away.

"A DRGAON!"

"RETREAT!"

"Don't leave these bastards to go!"

"FOR THE DUCHY! FOR OUR FUTURE!"

"ATTACK!"

Within seconds later I used my firebreath to erase the nearest demonic beast from the face of earth.

"MOVE SOLDIERS! LET THE DRAGON HANDLE IT!"

I should feel horrible but then why was I feeling this satisfaction and not only that but I was enjoying this too.

"HISSSSSSS"

A hissing sound came out of my mouth when some soldiers came a bit too close to me. It was a bit of a warning not to mess with me nor my prey. Somewhat this was just pure on instinct and I couldn't turn this off. It was who I am. As a dragon this behavior seemed programmed and normal. Yet it was definitely not something ordinary people should take lightly.

"It's dead....IT'S DEAD!"

"The dragon took care of it... this easily.... We are saved!"

"LET'S GO SOLDIERS!"

"ONE LAST TIME! LET'S PUT OUR ALL INTO THIS!"

Suddenly, the earth started shaking and a screaming roar pierced the air.

"ROOOAAAAAAAAARRRRR!!!!"

What was this...

Where did it come from!

This is not a dagon roar...

WHAT THE HECK!

This roar was not mine and it made me look into the direction of where it came from. It was a distorted roar which sounded more like screeching than roaring. However it had this deadly presence in it which made me immediately look in the direction to see a beast as huge as me. We could be on eye level or it could be a bit bigger than me. I wasn't as sure about the actual height seeing as I was on one end of the battlefield and it was on the other side of it.

What is that thing....

How ... What? This is insane!

There is no way they can beat that shit!

"BACKUP ARRIVED!"

I could still hear a lot of soldiers screaming in joy since about now, I could also hear the running of horses and the metal of the equipment the holy knights had as they rode into the battlefield. We had successfully turned the ties of this battle around.

Now the only question was that thing. It seemed to have focused on me the moment it saw me kill that thing. I was sure about that because it started to move towards me ignoring the attack of every mage and the duke as well as Ryan and the other two people I have never seen before at all.

Is it running towards me?

I can't have it grab me... better escape into the air and think for a bit.

Maybe fire can hurt it?

It is worth a try.

Seeing as this thing was clearly the final boss of the battlefield and it was running towards me, I couldn't see any option on how to attack it from the ground straight on. It seemed a lot sturdier than the others I have seen and even they were quite sturdy with scales and a bit of fur. Now this thing didn't have any fur at all but just a skin which looked like rocks. It was dry skin without any kind of wounds at all. This was bad since I was sure that the mages and the duke were attacking it even prior before I arrived.

The beast had only two eyes and they were sharp and small. It was completely focused on me.

The difference between this creature and the other one was not only the size and how it looked but this one had a scorpion like tail and spikes on the back including 6 legs. It was not showing any visible weakness at all. Besides the obvious parts it had a split jaw and I could see the snake-like tongue coming out sometimes. One shouldn't overlook the salvier which was starting to burn the ground beneath it. Acid was the only thing I could think about.

In a head on battle with this thing, I would be screwed for sure. I knew that, my senses were screaming danger at me but it was too late for that anyways.

I have to get above it...

Maybe I can get it tired out?

Let's see, maybe I can see some kind of weakness from above...

Hopefully....

Is now a good time to prey?

Of course the moment I saw it starting to run wild towards me, I jumped into the air, flapping my wings and getting as far as possible. Who knows what this thing could do and if it could even jump high and get my tail somehow... that was enough for me to end up dead. I was not about to risk that at all.

On the other hand I could definitely see the anger in the beast's eyes when I got into the air and started to fly towards it, however not attacking it at all. Everything was depending on me and I had to play it safe here.

"ROOOOOOOAAAAAARRRRR!"

There it was again, that screeching like roar from the creature. Though this time, I didn't care about it and answered it with my very own roar. Or course I made sure to put in all the blood lust I have and let it experience fear as well.

"RROOOOAAAAAARRRR!

Little did I know that it wouldn't react to this at all. By now all the soldiers had made ways for the two beasts, me in some sense as well as this hellish monster. The battlefield started to get emptier as they made space for us to fight. No one wanted to be a canon fodder for any misfortune event which would probably happen here.

"Vivi, can you hear me?"

"Huh..."

"It's me, Aneko, the tower master. I don't have enough energy to talk to you for a long time."

"Got it."

"We were desperately trying to attack this beast since it came into the battlefield. Don't get in contact with its salvia or the spikes. They are poisonous and burning and melting through anything."

"Anything else I have to know?"

"We tried attacking it from the side but nothing worked so far."

"What about heat?"

"It seemed to have some resistance to it."

"Some? That means there is a chance I can burn it down?"

"Low one. It tries to avoid the heat but other than that, it manages to take full hits by the magical bombs the tower produced."

"I see... I'll try my luck."

"Vivi, be careful! It's strong and fast! Our swords didn't do any damage to it."

"Don't worry about me! I'll be fine."

The last bit of what I said was a lie. I was not fine. In fact I didn't know what to do at all but I did appreciate the tower master talking to me with whatever bit of energy he had left. They all had to be exhausted from fighting this thing for such a long time. However they did a good job stalling some time as well.

Now that I was above the creature. I started to see what the tower master meant. It certainly seemed different from above especially with all the spikes it had. Throwing myself at it was definitely a bad idea. Then again it also had quite a good reach with its tail and it was sharp as well. That was one thing to be careful of as well.

There has to be a weakness!

No way it doesn't have any!

The more I circled around it the more I started to see that there was not really any kind of weakness at all. I knew this already but I had hoped to find it anyway.

Seeing as there wasn't much to do, I once again started to rice and went above its head and tried my fire on it.

"RRRROAAAAAARRRRR! HISSSSSSSSSS!!!"

First a painful screeching roar was released but soon after that I found myself attacked by it. It was afraid of fire and what I did notice was that it had turned its tail towards me to dig up some dirt to throw at me. Maybe it was just my imagination but for me it looked as if it was protecting its poison from all the fire.

WHAT THE!

Then it happened! It came out of nowhere and I didn't even get from where it came at all. I was still at a reasonable distance above it and yet it managed to actually jump up quite high to grab me. Thankfully I was done with my fire breath and was already flying up again but still it came out of nowhere and surprised me a lot. If that would have hit me, I would be done for sure. I was thinking about the tail and then it hit me. That tail was definitely dipped in some kind of poison as well. If the needles on its back were already poisonous then why shouldn't the tail be as well. Besides this creature was using his tail as a primary weapon so of course it had to have some kind of advantage and poisonous acid would do the trick for sure.

"HISSSSS"

Once again it hissed at me while I was getting away from it and looked at it. This time I started to fly around it in a circle getting faster and faster. I was aiming towards the ground to keep this monster in check but what I didn't expect was it to suddenly strike back with poisonous gas. That gas quickly started to extinguish the flames I had just put around but it was worse than this since this gas was quickly spreading towards all the people!

OH NO!

NOOO!

I need to do something!
