~16~: Shortcut
As my new servant Damian said, we went to find Delca and Emi who were still looking for me in worry. I really felt bad for them to look for me like this but then again, I just needed some time to catch my breath for a bit of a time. No one could blame for that.
When Emi saw me, she started running towards me till she was right in front of me. Next thing she did was crouch in front of me and make me turn around so she could see if I was hurt or something happened but nothing happened at all. I was just resting.
"Did you get hurt or in trouble?"
"No. I am fine."
"Thank goddess. I was worried, you might have walked into Lady Rosetta again."
Rosetta...
AH YEAH!
There is only one other girl, THAT MONKEY!
What a stupid girl.
Well I totally forgot that she usually would go to the garden.
Oh well, not as if I was in the rose garden.
"Nope but I found Diamond here."
"Diamond?"
Ooop... Did I mess up names again?
I could have sworn he was called this way.
At this rate, I will get in trouble sooner than later for this.
I looked at my new servant and of course I once again messed up the name completely but they all started laughing about it thinking it was a joke. The thing was, it was not. I really couldn't remember names that easily and as of now only Ryan my brother knew about it. Thanks to what happened at the carriage, I knew his name. I was way too embarrassed to not remember it this time.
"Aww princess, I am Damian but I will proudly carry my new nickname from now on."
Thank god this didn't end up in a disaster.
Let's just stick with this.
I definitely should be able to remember this.
I mean I called him a diamond like a gem.
Not as if it wouldn't fit him with that white hair.
Whelp, whatever.
What is done is done anyways.
"Where is father right now?"
"He should be at his study. Do you want to go see him?"
"YES!"
"Alright. Let's go."
I started walking into the mension and stopped the moment I entered it. There was a simple reason why I stopped. The thing was... I didn't know where my fathers study was at all. I have seen him only in the dining room each day and in the hallways but never in his room or his study. All I knew was where my room was and the dining room. I didn't even know where Alex or Ryan were staying. From what I grasped they were not around the corner or I would have seen them at one point or I was just oblivious to reality. That was also a possibility.
"What's wrong birdy?"
"I don't know where my fathers study is."
"Let me lead the way then."
I was happy that Damian said that but he also didn't have to pick me up like that. After all, I could still perfectly walk on my own. That was something that Emi too noticed and immediately spoke up.
WOW!
What the hell?
Why would you pick me up?
"Damian, put her down."
"Why should I? She is just so cute!"
"She doesn't seem to like that and besides that who said you could do that before me?"
"Jealous?"
"Just put her down."
"NEVER!"
Oh my god...
Oh my GOSH!
He is fast!
I didn't think he would be that fast!
All of the sudden he started sprinting off which made me scream out a bit. It just surprised me and in the process I held on a lot tighter as he started running around with me in his arms. Emi was chasing us from behind as well. Soon Delca, the head butler, joined as well.
"DAMIAN! STOP RUNNING!"
"NEVER HAHAHAHA!"
Pfff-
I wish I could laugh out loud.
I probably shouldn't do that.
Oh well... whatever... This is too good.
"Pfff-"
"Oh someone is having fun, huh?"
He went on and on and I don't know why I didn't say anything against it. Maybe I was secretly enjoying this or I just liked the change, who knows. Not a single word came out of my mouth after that one scream and I just let it go. This was after all kinda fun until Damian decided to go for an open window. That was when the fun stopped for me.
No..no.no.no.no.no.no.no.no.NO!
We are not gonna jump through there!
NO WAY!
NO WAY!
This is way too dangerous!
"STOP DIAMOND! DON'T!"
"Don't worry birdy! I gotcha!"
You have my ass!
What if you break something?
What if we both get hurt?
Why would you even jump through a goddamn window?
Just like that he jumped out of the window and I hated it. It felt a bit like a roller coaster ride but without the seat nor the belt not any kind of safety. Oh and did I mention that we jumped through the damn window from the first floor and each room had a high ceiling about 3.5 meters high? No, well it was damn scary and one could easily break something just landing the wrong way.
"STOOOOOP!"
I screamed that out with the top of my lungs but that didn't quite work. What happened next was something I couldn't believe at all. While I was screaming and closing my eyes to not see the jump, I felt the air around us getting lighter. It felt as if we stopped in time and he wasn't running at all. First I thought he just stopped but when I opened my eyes and looked at him, I was as confused as he was.
We were literally in mid air and not only that we were kinda levitating as well.
What in the world...
HUH?
How is this possible?
"Wow, I give up! How about letting us down?"
"I- I- I don't know how."
Easier said than done!
"Hmm... you were scared before... so maybe try to get down to the ground very very hard?"
"And how am I sup-"
Before I could even finish my sentence, we started dropping immediately. I once again closed my eyes and grabbed Damian hard. I was just scared but we didn't seem to fall again but slowly descended down.
"Open your eyes birdy."
"No."
"We are safe, don't worry."
"How do you know that?"
"Look. Your father is there."
When Diaman said that, I indeed opened my eyes and I could see all the shadows around us reaching and protecting us as well as safely getting us down. I couldn't even begin to describe how scared I was when Diaman jumped out of the window. It was just insane. Why he did that, who knows but this was definitely not gonna end with just nothing. My father didn't seem pleased at all but I at least found my father, which was something positive at least.
"Please someone explain to me why you two were hovering in midair."
"Father!"
Damian let me down to the ground the moment we were actually down and my father was... well how do I describe it... he was not only angry but I could tell he was worried but more than anything else, he was definitely not in a good mood.
"I wanted to see you."
"Viviana, that is no reason to jump out of a window."
"Abou that, Sire... it was me who grabbed the princess and jumped out."
"Oh I heard that."
"...."
"Father, don't be angry. We are fine."
" Thankfully but what would you have done if I wouldn't be here?"
"..."
One sigh later and my father picked me up from the ground. Of course I hugged him tightly but now was definitely not the time to give him the handkerchief. I could tell and anyone could tell actually that he was about to punish Damian for doing something as foolish as jumping out of a window. I still didn't get why he would do that.
"How dare you get my daughter into trouble."
"I am sorry, Sire. My short coming got the princess into trouble. I will accept any punishment you see fit."
"No! Don't punish him father. Please! He just did what I asked"
"Oh was it your idea to jump out of a window?"
"No."
"Vivi, then the fault lies with him and not you."
"But I wanted to see you!"
"Alright. Alright. I won't punish him hard but he still has to face some punishment."
"Then what about chickening around the training ground?"
"Chickening?"
"Well crouching and moving forward while having his hands up touching his head."
"Oh! What a funny sight this will be. Alright, let's do that. Damion, you heard her."
"Yes, Sire. Thank you princess for showing me mercy."
Little did I know that this form of punishment would later on be normal for any kind of mistake since it was physically very exhausting to do and yet it was good training as well. To top it off, the training ground was by far not a small area. In fact it was around double the size of a football stadium.
