It had happened so fast.

In fact, all of them were certain they were dead.

Until the pain hit.

Chase groaned, feeling aches all over but nothing felt broken.

'That's fucking weird. I should at LEAST be dead after that' he finally opened his eyes.

He expected darkness but once again, he was wrong.

Just a few feet away from him was a light emanating from Marvin's hands. With the light enveloping what little area they had, Chase could see Anti and Jackie standing above them, holding the mountain but from completely crushing them all.

Honestly, they looked absolutely amazing side by side. All the power they held still astonished Chase.

Just in front of him were Jameson and Henrik. They looked just as out of it as Chase but were fine.

Of course, Anti and Jackie weren't holding ALL of the mountain up. Some rubble had broken around them just from the sheer force of it crashing down on top of them.

Rocks and debris covered them a bit but not enough to hurt them.

"God damn" Chase snorted, "You two really are powerhouses."

But that's when the father noticed Jackie's expression.

He was crying.

"Jackie? . . . . ." he couldn't ask what was wrong, though. 

They had just all broken free from Antisepticeye's mind-games. Of course his mental state wasn't going to be good.

Anti was straining under all the weight above him but looked straight at Jackie. He looked so . .  broken.

"Jackie . . . . don't . . . don't you dare give up."

The hero grit his teeth but glared back at him, "Don't you tell me . . . .  you're not the one who had to watch his LITERAL family die in front of them over and over again! My sister . . . and my nephew. . ."

"Dammit, Jackie" Anti seethed back at him, "My family DID die in front of me . . . and I'm not about to watch it happen all over again HERE! So suck it up . . . . and lift this fucking ROCK!"

Jackie flinched, his muscles contracting. He couldn't keep this up.

"It . . . it doesn't matter  . . .  I can't do it"

"Of course you fucking can!" Chase yelled at him before coughing, " . . . . You're a superhero . . . you can-"

"I wasn't supposed . . . to have this power, remember? Marvin gave it to me from HIS energy. . . It's not really mine . . .  never was. I'm not  . . I'm not strong enough"

Jackie groaned in pain suddenly, flinching again as some more rock crumbled down on them.

Jackie hacked up some dust, waiting for the others to start yelling at him.

But he was surprised when they didn't.

Henrik and Jameson no longer looked so sure of their odds. 

It was different before. 

BEFORE, there wasn't a mountain on top of them.

Anti was astonished, "No . . . wait, we can still do this"

"But how?" Henrik sighed, "Sean is gone along with zhe canon and zhat canon was our last hope against him"

'No, Sean didn't run away' Jameson signed to them, 'I saw him for a moment hiding before the mountain came down on us. He's out there, I know it'

"It doesn't matter, though, does it?" Marvin scoffed, "Point is, the canon is out there and NOT here. Without it, we're fucked"

"Fine way for a wizard to talk, right?" Chase huffed at him, "What, you got nothing left, either?"

Marvin just shook his head, "This light I have coming out of my hands?. . . . . . . This is it. When Antisepticeye destroyed my mask.  . .  all of my reserve power was gone. What I had left in my body was it and now after all we've been through since . . . . . " he stopped, knowing he didn't have to finish.

Henrik, Jameson, Chase and Marvin all gave each other last looks. This was really it, wasn't it?

"We. . .  ." Jackie sucked in a breathe, "We gave it our all . . . . . to the end and -OW!"

Anti had kicked Jackie slightly in the shin, "WILL YOU IDIOTS FUCKING QUIT IT! STOP TALKING LIKE WE'RE ALREADY DEAD!"

"We might as well be" Marvin spat, "Have you looked around? We're literally UNDERGROUND already!"

"This fight is only over when you let it be!" Anti tried to get through to them, "We can't let him win! Not now after everything we've gone through!"

"Anti, I can't fucking lift this off of us!" Jackie tried argue, "And neither can you . . . just admit it already."

"I'll admit that I can't do it" Anti strained, trying to help Jackie keep it up for as long as they could, "But that doesn't mean YOU can't"

More rubble cluttered around them and they all gathered as close as they could to Anti and Jackie. If they were about to die, they'd do it together.

The hero couldn't leave well enough alone though, "Anti, I'm sorry . . .you didn't have to come.. . . and you could still leave if you wanted. You can glitch out of here. You can-"

"I'm not gonna leave you." he spat at him, shaking, "Because the moment I do, to try and sneak up on the bastard, you'll let everything fall and crumble around you like the fucking coward you are"

"I'm not a-"

"You are!" Anti argued, "Because the Jackie I knew wouldn't give up until his heart STOPPED BEATING!"

"I'M NOT YOUR JACKIE!"

"Just because your powers were given to you differently doesn't mean they're not as powerful!"

"Anti-" Marvin tried but the glitch wasn't having it.

"No! The Jackie I knew . . . could do great things.  . . . . he could do anything he set his mind to! He was strong! So strong . . .. and so are you!"

"I'm not-"

"YOU ARE!" Anti teared up, "You are . . . . . you are my Jackie . . . . you just have to dig deep . . . . dig deep inside yourself. Because that strength you have doesn't just come from Marvin's magic. It comes from YOU . . . YOU are what makes yourself strong. Marvin's magic only gave you the power. YOU are the one that decides how to use it"

Jackie grit his teeth. He had never strained so hard to keep himself alive. To keep all of them alive.

Jackie still cried, his tears staining his face, "Is it even worth it anymore? What is there to live for  . . .. for any of us anymore?. . . .  What is there, Anti? Tell. . . . tell me"

Unfortunately, Chase and the others shared the same look in their eyes as Jackie.

They were beginning to lose hope, too.

Of course, they were. Seeing Jackie so hopeless, had that effect. He was weakening. Bleeding and straining and losing the will to survive.

And it was starting to rub off on them.

Anti's breathing was labored but he huffed, getting even more pissed off by the moment, "Damn you . . . . damn you all"

Antisepticye smiled wide. 

Finally, after so much work, it was paying off.

'This is it. It's almost over. They're barely alive but not for long. Just a few more seconds and I can kill Sean, too. And then . . .. and then I'll move on to the next set. But this time . . .. I'll be even stronger.'

He laughed to himself, glee rippling through him, "None of them will ever stand in my way again!"

Sean hid behind a boulder with the canon at his side. He stared at the screen.

'Eighty percent completed' He thought to himself, 'Surely, they'll come out . . right? They're so strong . . . . like superheros. They'll survive and get through this and then they'll shoot the bastard. . . and this will all be over. . . .. won't it?'

But even HIS hope was dwindling.  The mountain rested on the ground.

But something was wrong. Sean still had a smidge of hope in his heart.

'They're still there. I know it. They have to live. . . . please . .  please be okay. Please live'

He glanced at the canon's screen again, 'Eighty-five percent. . . .Maybe I could do it . . . maybe I could end this myself. . .'

Jackie was now on his knees but still held the rock up along with Anti. 

Oxygen was fading.

Henrik, Jameson, Marvin and Chase were weakening but mostly from their own doing.

They were giving up.

"We won't last much longer" Henrik stated, "If Jackie cannot save us . . .. then it IS over, after all"

"No, it's not" Anti used his shoulder to help brace himself against the force of the rocks, "We can  . . .still  . . .do it"

Jackie grunted but did say anything.

He was starting to let go of the mountain. 

He was ready to give up and end it, himself.

"You asked me what there was to live for anymore" Anti pestered them all, "You know, I asked myself the same thing before you guys showed up and turned my whole world around again. Before, I didn't have anything to live for. My family was gone . .. right? They were dead. I watched them die and I couldn't do anything about it. But then you guys came into my life"

They were all silent but Anti took that as a sign to continue.

"You all have the same thing to live for. . .. each other. And the memories"

'Memories?' Jackie questioned to himself.

Anti's eyes glowered into Jackie's, "The memories of your loved ones . . . . Stacey and Jack . . . .Eva, Olivia and Iris . . . .  Evan, Bee and Sampson . . . .Griffith, Wiles and Emily . .. . . . . Sammie and Benny"

Anti could feel it in the heavy air. He could feel their hearts and sorrows and the bitter grief clawing at them all.

"You all had different people in your lives. Different families . . . but oddly enough, you all had so many things in common. . . . ."

Anti remembered. It felt like so long ago.

"My family . .. that set were all stubborn . . ..  and their families all loved them so much  . . . . and were just as stubborn and hard-headed as all of you! So tell me . . .where is that stubbornness? That WILL to live that just won't go away?"

They were still silent but he could tell it was sinking in.

"But that's not all" Anti smirked just a little, "Intriguing enough . . . you all have that one song you all shared in your hearts. . .  because of them. Your families."

Marvin blinked and looked up at Anti, first. He had suspected  . . . . was he right?

The silence was almost as crushing as the rocks.

Until Anti started to sing.

"Some . . . .where . . . .. . over the . . . . rainbow . . . . . way up . . . high~"

Jackie tensed, his chest tightening. He slowly looked up back at Anti.

"There's. . . . a. . . .land . . .  that I heard of . . .  once. . .  in a . . . lullaby~"

Henrik grit his teeth. He could remember when he sang this song to Olivia to get her to go to sleep.

Jameson clutched his pocket-watch in his hands. Griffth would sing that song in his flower shop and get it in everyone's heads. It always made Wiles angry in a funny way. Emily had danced to the song once . . . . it had been so beautiful.

"Some . . . .where . . . .. . over the . . . . rainbow . . . . .skies are . . ..  blue~"

Chase could remember singing this song with Jack and Stacey when they watched the Wizard of Oz. He'd always hum it to himself when he got anxious.

Marvin always hated the song. . . . but Evan had always adored it. Seeing that smile on his face whenever it'd come up on their Spotify. He wished he could see that smile one more time.

Anti looked straight back into Jackie's eyes.

"And the .  . . dreams. . . . you dare to . . . . . dream . . . . . really do . . .come true~"

Jackie could see it clear as day. It was Sammie and his' song.

When they were kids, it was theirs.

He could still see her smile and hear her laugh. His sister. . . . 

'I can still hear her voice. . . . screaming at me'

Anti got louder, forcing them all to hear him . . to listen, "Some . . day I'll wish upon a star. . . . And wake up where the clouds are far . . . behind  . . . .me~

He took a breathe and clenched his jaw.

"Where troubles melt like lemon drops!  . . .Way above the chimney tops! . . .That's where you'll . . . . find . . . . .  me . . . . . . . ."

'Screaming . . . . that I shouldn't give up now . . . after everything we've been through!'

Before Anti could continue, Jackie got off one of his knees, slamming his foot on the ground to steady himself.

 They all stared back at Jackie, wondering the same thing.

Were they all thinking the same thing now?

Anti smiled softly, watching as Jackie's hair and eyes started to glow that similar green that his had earlier.

'I knew you'd come through . . . . you're so much stronger. . .  than you even realize!'

"ALRIGHT!!!" Jackie screamed, his whole body glowing green and sparking. His power was coming back but this time, from his own heart, "IF I'M GONNA DIE . . . . . . I'M TAKING HIM DOWN WITH ME FIRST!!!"

"YEAH!" Anti agreed but he didn't have to help him anymore.

Jackie's fists pulsed heavy and loud with the green glow until everything was glowing and the air became lighter.

Antisepticeye didn't understand.

One moment, they were all crushed and dying.

And the next . . . . . . 

The mountain exploded . . no . . . it was VAPORIZED into NOTHING!

Jackie stood on his feet with his hands in the air. His hair and eyes were still glowing green but so were Anti's.

Marvin stood, too, just as ready to fight one last battle.

'I can't let everything we've done go to waste! We WILL win this! Not for our own lives . . . but for THEM!!'

Marvin spotted Sean's energy not to far away but he didn't even have to do anything. 

Sean was already racing towards them with the canon!

"I knew it! I knew you guys wouldn't die!"

Antisepticeye saw the threat, "NO! I WON'T LET YOU BEAT ME!!!! THIS IS OVER! OVER!!!!"

But before Antisepticeye could do anything, Anti aimed his hands towards him, "For you, it is" He gave it EVERYTHING he had, causing a lightning blast to come surging.

Antisepticeye had to retaliate and defend himself with a lightning wave of his own!

"YOU CAN'T  EXPECT THIS TO WORK!" Antisepticeye tried to taunt him, "YOU'VE ALREADY TRIED THIS AND FAILED BEFORE!"

Jackie stood behind Anti and aimed his hands at Antisepticeye, too, "LAST TIME, HE WAS DOING IT BY HIMSELF!"

Antisepticeye was prepared for the stronger combined attack, though, and used his Pheno energy.

He didn't care anymore if it got out of control! This was everything or nothing!

Marvin bore as deep as he could into his own energy. He remembered his loved-ones faces and the love he and Evan had shared.

His anger guided him just like that day Antisepticeye had killed Evan right in front of him.

'I won't let myself falter! Fuck the tarot cards! I make my OWN future!"

"AND MY FUTURE DOESN'T HAVE YOU IN IT!!"

He joined Anti and Jackie, firing his own magic against their enemy.

Antisepticeye didn't expect this.

This was almost too much and his own energy against theirs was getting pushed back!

"But how? This isn't right! That Pheno energy was supposed to make me unbeatable! I was supposed to kill them all! That my WHOLE FUCKING PURPOSE! I CAN'T LET THEM TAKE THAT FROM ME!!!"

He let everything go, unconcerned for even his own wellbeing.

Henrik, Jameson and Chase joined Sean by the canon.

"It's ready to go!" Sean gave a fake salute.

"Good vork!" Henrik laughed, "NOW LET'S KILL ZHIS SON OF A BITCH!"

Jameson helped Chase to aim the canon and they all held onto it firmly as Chase fired it directly at the monster.

And that was all the push that was needed.

Anti kept all that strength in his heart. He could feel HIS family next to him. WITHIN him, fighting side by side to give him the energy he needed to go on.

One last push.

One last scream to let it all out.

Antisepticeye couldn't even ponder what happened next.

Light and their power consumed him. It felt like their powers were tearing him apart.

And for once. . . 

He was truly afraid.

As the dust settled and the light faded, they all looked around with bated breaths.

"Is . . . . is he gone?" Chase was the first to ask.

Jackie leaned his arm on Marvin's shoulder, completely tapped out, "I fucking hope so"

Anti saw a small movement in the distance.

The others were surprised to see him glitch but watched where he had gone, slowing making their way to him, too.

It was time to finish this.

Anti stared down at Antisepticeye.

The monster could barely even keep his eyes open now. He couldn't even move.

"Looks like it's finally over, huh?" it was Anti's turn to taunt him, "Have anything to say now that you lost?"

Antisepticeye seethed, his teeth grit and whimpered out softly, " . . . . . go . . .. to . hell"

Anti smirked, "You first. . .. You deserved this. . . don't forget that. . . . . .  That reminds me, before I forget. . . . I made you a promise, didn't I?"

Antisepticeye looked confused until Anti pulled out his knife.

"I told you I'd take my fucking eye back"

Anti popped out the green marble one Marvin had made for him and put it in his pocket before leaning down next to Antisepticeye.

He didn't take joy in how Antisepticeye could barely struggle against him now. But he was satisfied when he ripped out the eye that once belonged to him and put it back in his own eye socket. Using whatever strange energy he had left, he repaired the damage left behind by Antisepticye, healing himself.

Anti took a breathe and opened both his eyes, holding his hand over his green one with revered heartache. He missed this. What once was his. . . . he was now whole again.

Anti stared down at Antisepticeye who was laying immobile and now missing an eye. He was completely beaten, "Look at you now. . . . now you're the one who's pathetic. And now you'll finally know what fear means. You'll finally know what you put us all through. And I hope you suffer"

Antisepticeye said nothing, accepting his fate at last, staring up at Anti, waiting for the inevitable.

By the time the others reached them, Anti released the leftover energy he had taken from his old eye, vaporizing Antisepticye into nothing.

Anti lowered his hand and took a long sigh of relief, "I know he'll suffer . . . . . I just wish I'd get to see it . . . ." 

He turned to face the others, though, and finally smiled.

"It's over"

Tears welled up in everyone's eyes.

"It's finally over"

FYI, I had the song 'Somewhere over the rainbow' by J2 and Lola on repeat and this version is EPIC. I highly recommend playing it at the same point when Anti starts to sing :) Then when he stops, that's when the epicness of the last battle hits! 

This WHOLE story is all thanks to this song because as I kept listening to it, I thought about this epic battle scene FIRST and then everything else around the story filled itself in. Just in case you guys didn't know, that's how all of my stories start out ;)
