(Y/n) POV

The cooking club is on a bus filled with other animals because we're going on a field trip to the coastal branch of Seton Academy. Typical of the Academy that there isn't a seat big enough for me, so I had to take up the entire back of the bus, which is weird because the elephants are sitting up in front with no issue, but whatever. Everyone is really excited and much to Jin's annoyance everyone is being loud in their excitement.

Jin: Quiet down, will ya!

Ranka: What are you talking about?! We're going to a new place. Oh, Jin, I think I can almost see it! Wow!

We eventually come to the Academy Branch and everyone disembarks, while Meimei let's me out the back.

(Y/n): Whew, it was getting cramped in there.

We all head to the docks and Meimei has taken more liberties to ride on my back, which I didn't mind.

Yukari: Meimei? Why do ride on (Y/n)'s back so much?

Meimei: *blushes in embarrassment* Uh, well, his fur is soft and fluffy.

(Y/n): I don't mind guys. Honest.

We are then greeted by the headmaster who is an unusual creature even I've never seen before, the Headmaster addresses the crowd.

Ohba: Hello everyone! I'm the headmaster, Ohba. I hope the five days you get to spend at Sea Academy will be- AHHH!

Just then a massive humpback whale breaches out of the water splashing the whole class and I can only look in awe.

Meimei: What is it (Y/n)?

(Y/n): I feel so, puny.

This got a laugh out of the girls of the club and we all take a tour of the place.

Ranka: Wow this building's really pretty.

Jin: Hmph.

Meimei: Oh, look! They're school uniforms are swimsuits! How cute!

Ranka: Oh, I wanna try one.

Jin: Hmph.

Yukari: Check it out! The classrooms are actually in the water!

(Y/n): That makes sense.

We continue towards the supposed dorm area.

Ranka: Wow! Their dorm is a ship!

Kurumi: How cool!

Jin: Hmph! Sea or land, it's still a school full of animals. *smack* OW!

(Y/n): *sarcastic* Oops.

????: Hello everyone from Seton Academy!

We all turn to see a girl on the railing acknowledging us.

????: Welcome to Sea Academy! I hope you all have a good time here!

Ranka: Is she a dolphin, too?

Jin: A beluga whale, actually.

Kana: I, Shiraumi Kana, present to you our welcome show!

We were all pretty excited at first, but the show ended pretty abruptly which left us all a little disappointed.

Jin: That's it?!

Kana: Sorry. *swims away*

Meimei: What was that about?

Hitomi: Well... it doesn't seem to be in the guide. It does say there will be a show by the synchronized swimming club on the last day...

Yukari: I guess she must've been putting on her own personal show?

Ranka: She went through all of that just to welcome us? I hope she's not off by herself being depressed.

I can see the disgust on Jin's face, clearly Ranka does this often and it gets on his nerves, suddenly I can almost see the gears turning in his head. He grabs Ranka and suggests she go cheer her up, called it.

Meimei: Come on (Y/n)! It sounds like fun!

(Y/n): Okay.

I follow Ranka as quick as I can but Ranka is very fast, we finally catch up with her at the show pool, and the two talk to Kana while I catch my breath. Mammoth's are not built for sunny weather, whew, I'm burning up already.

Kana: You want to help? How?

Ranka: Meimei's going to teach you the secrets of putting on a show!

Meimei: Just leave to your resident super-top-class idol. Fengfeng, if you will?

Fengfeng: Aye!

(Y/n): You know there's a difference between land and sea right?

Meimei: Trust me, I've got this.

I just sit and watch as Meimei then brings out a tire to play with as a way to show off. Ugh, what am I going to do with them? Kana then talks about the synchronized swimming club and how she wants to join but they won't let her. Suddenly a dolphin jumps out of the water and gracefully does a backflip and lands back in the water creating a huge splash that soaks the four of us, which honestly felt cool and refreshing, the dolphin turns out to be the boss of the swimming club and she stares down at Kana.

Ranka: Why won't you let Kana join the swimming club?

Ruka: Kana knows the reason better than anyone. A beluga can't keep up with bottlenose dolphins. No amount of effort you put in will change that. I can't allow someone who knows she'll ruin our stage into our pod, much less allow her to perform in our show!

Kana: *crying*

(Y/n): And I thought bottlenose dolphins were supposed to be smart.

Ruka: What are you talking about, mammoth?

(Y/n): Oh, nothing. Just acknowledging what a ungrateful, privileged brat you are.

Ruka: Say what?!

(Y/n): You heard me. Now get lost scamp.

Ruka simply swims away in anger and Ranka and Meimei try to calm Kana down.

Ranka: Kana, you don't need to be in that braggart's club!

Kana: But I still want to be a part of the swimming club. At our entrance ceremony, I was so moved when I saw their show that I accidently spouted salt water from my blowhole! I want to stand on the stage like they do. I want to make everyone feel as moved as I did!

Jin: Hmph! A show put on by some animal isn't going to make anyone happy.

Ranka: Jin! *goes to lick Jin*

(Y/n): You don't know how to be happy with what you have in the first place.

Jin: So, you want to be in the show, right? Then you need to make your own talent your weapon.

Kana: What talent?

Ranka: Talent? like that thing where she blew rings?

Jin: No. Singing!

Kana/Ranka: Singing?

Jin: You do know the beluga's nickname, don't you? The canaries of the sea?

(Y/n): He means Beluga's are supposed to be really good singers. Bring something new to the performance.

Jin: Exactly, you can put on a perfectly good show without jumping and splashing around.

Ranka: Oh, I know let's put on a show of our own, then!

Jin: Huh?

(Y/n): Even I'm confused about that one.

Ranka: We'll do synchronized swimming moves to Kana's singing! We can present it on the last day of the seaside school!

Meimei: That sounds like fun!

Yukari: I'd like to try!

Miyubi: Me, too.

Kurumi: Right!

Ranka: If it goes well, Ruka will have to acknowledge your talent!

Kana: Y-Yeah! I'll try my best!

(Y/n): Well you can leave me out of the swimming portion.

Meimei: aw, come on. It'll be fun!

(Y/n): Nope.

Meimei: What are you scared?

(Y/n): No! *hesitates for a moment* I just can't swim, okay!

Meimei: Oh, sorry. But maybe you can help in other ways.

(Y/n): First, I'm burning up. I need to cool down and then I'll help.

Meimei POV

(Y/n) walks inside the main building and the rest of us start coming up with ideas for our performance but one thing we all need are swimsuits.

(Y/n) POV

Whew that's better, a walk in freezer and big enough for me to fit in to boot, awesome! I sit in the freezer until my legs start to feel cold and head back out to the practice pool, as soon as I walk in-

Meimei: (Y/n)! Check out these swimsuits! Aren't they cute?!

(Y/n): *blushes* Uh, yeah of course they are.

Meimei: *happily* You really think so?!

(Y/n): Of course you look cute.

Ranka: Alright, let's get practicing!

Girls: Right!

Jin: Hmph!

Kana tried singing and it was, bad, and the girls are not exactly synchronizing in swimming, and it doesn't help that the other students of the Sea Academy are laughing at us. I took in a trunk full of water and sprayed it towards the crowd to disperse them, after a long day the rest of us decided to call it a day, except Ranka she continued working with Kana for as long as she wanted. After another chill in the freezer, I grab a midnight lunch and head back to the dorms where the girls dorms were quiet but some of the boys especially the predators were still awake rough housing. I went to my assigned room and got ready for bed, as soon as I close my eyes, I hear some of the guys I have to share my dorm with softly gasp. I slowly open my eyes and look down to see Meimei sleepily making herself comfy in the curl of my trunk, I look at the stares I'm getting and with a single breeze from my trunk I manipulated a blanket over her and I once again closed my eyes and fell asleep. I wake the next morning and move my trunk a little and still feel Meimei sleeping and I wearily open my eyes and yawn before I slowly get up, without waking her and head to the cafeteria for breakfast. I am joined by Jin, surprisingly, and he looks like he has something on his mind.

Jin: I really hate asking for an animal's help, but do you think you could give me some advice?

(Y/n): What's on your mind? *eats a mouthful of grass*

Jin: Well, the synchronized swimming leader, uh, Ruka I think, sought me out last night.

(Y/n): What did that brat want?

Jin: Well, Bottlenose dolphins sometimes have dual split personality so the one I encountered acted sweet and innocent. Anyways, She asked me to try and stop Kana from performing because the two species simply can't perform together.

(Y/n): Well she can first try and pull that stick our her ass first. But again look at our club, do we look normal to you?

Jin: Hmph. Maybe you're not as stupid as I thought.

(Y/n): Buzzkill.

Suddenly I heard a scream and I suppose Jin couldn't hear because he didn't react, and I moved towards the scream. The scream led all the way to my dorm, I opened the door and see a Bengal tiger after Meimei. I quickly trumpet and smack the tiger with my trunk and got his attention as I grabbed Meimei and put her on my bag, I growled at the tiger and he quickly backed down and went about his business.

Meimei: Where were you this morning?!

(Y/n): Mammoths can't sleep for very long otherwise they may suffocate, I needed to get up and moving. We only sleep for 4 hours a day.

Meimei: Oh. That was so scary to wake up to.

(Y/n): Sorry. I'll be sure to keep you nearby should this happen again.

Meimei: Ok.

(Y/n): Now come on we've got a performance to perfect!

Meimei: Right!

Meimei went about getting ready for the day and I went back to stock up on lunch snacks throughout the day if we were going to help Kana. The next few days were a breeze, day two everyone practiced swimming, minus me because I can't swim. Day three everyone tried fishing and we used the fish on day four to make sushi, with mixed results, but overall a very good few days. And now, day five is here and the cooking club and Kana are getting pumped for their performance, even Kurumi is excited and Miyubi almost died twice from the excitement she had. Jin and I watch from the sidelines of the stadium and anxiously wait for the performance to start.

Ohba: Welcome all. You've had a productive five days. For your seaside school finale, it's show ti-

The humpback whale splashes the crowd again as everyone cheers. Some sea lions gave a performance with some beach balls. Kana meanwhile is having some stage fright.

Kana: I don't think I can do this.

Ranka: Don't worry, we'll be by your side the whole time!

Kana: Why are you doing this all for me anyway?

Hitomi: It's just like Ranks to not be selfish at all.

Jin: Or she's just an idiot. *smack* OW!

Yukari: But if the show is a success, lots more people might want to join the cooking club.

Ranka: Really?!

(Y/n): Whoa, slow down. We have to make sure this show is a success first.

Girls: Right!

The show starts to get underway and it's actually going really well, but things got much better as Kana sprung up in the middle and started singing, using her echolocation rather than her throat. I looked over at the dolphins and they were actually somewhat impressed with Kana. After a couple of minutes, Ruka suddenly bursts out of the water and joins in with Kana's song, soon after the rest of the synchronized swimming club joined in and the performance went off like a masterpiece. I trumpet loudly at the finale when Ruka leaped into the air as high as she could and made a huge splash coming back down. The day ended with everyone congratulating Kana and how Ruka finally accepted her into the swimming club. Good job kiddo.

(A/N): And, CUT! Whew, that was truly an exhilarating finish. Alright, everyone! Go home take a nap and we'll start again bright and early tomorrow.
