As the name suggests, the mad hatter is a seemingly insane character that gives out riddles and dresses fashionably. The hatter has a somewhat unstable frame of mind, thus, making him mad. Sure there are medical terms and words that describe the way that Malakai reacts and talks, but there is no true way to understand what is going on in his mind. The way Malakai acts depends on the situation he is in. When dealing with the present and is relaxed he's nice and sweet, but when he remembers the past or if he is in danger he truly becomes mad. 

Malakai keeps his inner thoughts mainly to himself and doesn't always say what he is thinking. He is dangerous - both because of his mind and his power. Though Malakai is hard to understand, people know where his loyalty lies. There have been times where people believe that he is a trader, but he always ends up on the same side. He can be annoying if you don't know how to speak to him, but once you understand him - at least a little bit - then you realize how funny and likable he really is. The only time Malakai seems sane is when he is fighting. He can be very focused, skillful, and deadly in the right situations, but will always say a riddle before he kills you - even if you get it right.

At first no, but over time he learned the truth. Now Malakai remembers everything from his past life and it only adds to his craziness. He will commonly call people by their fairytale names - or what they were known as in their past lives.

H I S T O R Y*
At a young age Malakai was clinically diagnosed with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, hallucinations, and seizures - but through all of this, he set the record from highest IQ since he was eight years old and first tested. These "disorders" weren't actually his sick mind playing tricks on him. It was his old mind fighting back. He would see images of tea parties, rabbits running late, a redhead with an enormously large head, and a talking cat. Over time he started to see and understand more, it was on his tenth birthday that he remembered everything from the life before. Malakai didn't speak a word until he was ten years old, during this time his family thought he had another medical issue when in reality he was trying to wrap his head around what the hell was going on. It only seemed like seconds ago he was at a tea party with Alice and Rabbit, then he was being called Malakai. 

Throughout school, although he was remarked as the medically insane child, he excelled. Malakai never missed one question or got a single question wrong on his test. His family was contacted by colleges and medical organizations who wanted to study him - but he knew the danger that this could possibly bring him. On his eighteenth birthday, Malakai disappeared. He took nothing with him but the clothes on his back and went searching for the friends from his past life, knowing they were out there. While traveling Malakai picked up an obsession with fighting, guns, and torture - making him truly dangerous and insane. When focusing on his combat, it was The Beast who found him thinking that he recognized him from somewhere. 

The one part of this new life that Malakai has a hard time wrapping his head around is his brother - which he calls Newt. Though he did not have a brother in his past life, if he did he doesn't recall, he has one in this life. No matter how insane he is, Malakai somewhat feels responsible for his younger sibling and feels he is the only reason he stayed eighteen years with his family and didn't leave sooner. Malakai's younger brother ran away from home only a year after him but does not know where the boy is now.

Now it has been about two and a half years that Malakai has been in The Beasts gang. There were countless times that The Beast debated killing Malakai or kicking him out, but each time Malakai showed him what he was capable of. Still, to this day, other members of the gang will say that he is a liability and puts everyone else at risk, but The Beast knows how powerful this boy is - even if he is a little crazy.
