Aue's personality is a spitting image of his mother. He always tends to find the good in people and doesn't believe that people are born evil. He is always in a good mood and loves the smell of fresh air. Aue has a pure heart of gold and doesn't seem to have a bad bone in his body. He is passionate about the sea and all living creatures within it. Aue is a naturally trustable person and will always speak the truth when asked, which can sometimes make people upset. Aue treats everyone kindly and does not disrespect anyone. He can get annoyed, much like his mom, but it is very had to get Aue in a bad mood or angry enough to fight, though he definitely knows how to defend himself.

History|
It's unknown who is the father of Aue. From tales, his island brothers told him and from around the sea, no one has ever seen Moana with anyone. Growing up Aue asked his mother who his father was, but she always said how he didn't have one. Aue is considered to be the son of the ocean, one of the most prestigious gifts in their culture. Born along a voyager ship with his mother, Aue lived his life on ships and islands, learning everything he could about the world. By the age of ten he was a master sailor, by twelve he knew all of his cultures, and by thirteen he was fluent in three languages. From a young age, Aue has always felt connected to the ocean and believes that the ocean is his father. Magic is not uncommon from where he is from, it is said that a son was gifted to Moana once she became of age by Te Fiti and she made a son of the ocean, one who will protect it once Moana passes on. Aue likes voyager life more than living in modern life and does not know how to work things like phones, television, or cars - some of it scares him a bit. He feels at home when he is near the sea.
