jasper may struggle to experience and express
emotions due to his diagnosis, but it doesn't mean
he is completely cold hearted and ruthless. jasper at times
can be completely disconnected and unbothered by things
that would cause others to break down and sob while
at other times he shares the exact same emotions as everyone else.
it's almost like a faulty switch that doesn't always work. 

besides his difficulty with emotions, jasper is a natural
born leader. though he refuses to admit it, he is 
very bright, a problem solver, and hard worker. these qualities
are what allowed his to excel in schooling and the military.
Even though he constantly looks mad or upset, he is
willing to sit down and listen to anyone's problems. He 
shows respect to all those who earn it. He will put others
before himself and throw himself into danger to protect
the ones he cares about.

At times he can be difficult to understand due to 
his condition. It takes a while for someone to understand what
he really means behind the words he is speaking. The only
two people who can decipher him at ease is his cousin and 
his lover. His default setting is sarcasm and blunt statements
as those seem to be understood by others easiest. The cool headed
blonde male has a temper, but little tends to set it off.

born into an average income family jasper
was actually born in canada by accident while his
parents were on vacation, but shortly brought to washington
afterwards. jasper was an only child for most of his life until
his teenage years when his mother had twin boys.
jasper struggled to connect with others due to 
his condition of not understanding others
emotions easily. he had a few select friends who knew
how to understand him.

when the first outbreak, jasper made the choice
to join the military with his cousin to aid in the 
fight against the infected. while in the ranks, jasper excelled
due to is ability to emotionally detach from things 
going on around him. Before he took off, he spent his last
night with his love, unknowingly impregnating her at the time
with their son.

one night during the outbreak there was an attack, 
after hours of attempting to hold back the hoard they were
instructed to retreat back. while jasper began to follow
orders, he realized his cousin was no where in sight. then he 
heard his screams. without a second though jasper ran after him, 
refusing to leave him behind. while trying to rescue his cousin, 
both were bitten in the process. after the 
heavy attack, both laid beside one another waiting for the
horrendous death to occur they had heard about
but it never came.

the two cousins soon after realized they were no
longer the same people they were before. Both stuck together
after being labelled 'killed in combat' by the government,
relying on one another more than ever as they were all
that they had left - only deepening their bond.
