Briggs has the definition of hard-shell exterior. Due to his upbringing Briggs doesn't easily trust others and hardly opens himself up to people. Even around those who know him best, Briggs will frequently hold in his emotion or bury his feelings deep inside. Briggs tends to give little care about how he impacts other or how his words make others feel. He is indescribably blunt and straight to the point. He doesn't believe anyone is really interested in getting to know the real him, instead is only interested in the taste of being with a bad-boy persona; which he doesn't have a problem with necessarily. Briggs enjoys causing trouble and stirring up drama. He will flirt with anyone regardless of their relationship status and has a history of sleeping with peoples boyfriends or girlfriends in crazy one-night stands. Briggs usually keeps this info to himself in order for him to keep them around in a friend with benefits relationship behind closed doors.

Brigg's father has been always involved in the gang life, exposing him to the lifestyle at an early age. His father quickly instilled in him what was expected of the young boy. He was taught to defend himself and trust no one. He was taught the value of his word and to never break his word once he gives it to someone. He was shown the evil in the world and how to have fun breaking a few rules. Briggs's mother died from breast cancer when he was thirteen, which ended up being his first tattoo on his right back shoulder. His father had another child, his half-sister Liliana, but she was taken into foster care and adopted by another family when she was five. Briggs caries a photo of her in his wallet, but has not seen her since. His father enrolled him in school merely because he had to or else it would bring CPS to their home. Briggs does the bare minimum to pass although he is remarkably smart and has a photo-graphic memory. He commonly can be found mixed in with the wrong crowd, running from cops, and at raves in broken down buildings.
