Hibiya POV

Oba-san one and two are trying to kill me.

I made fun of them once, and now their chasing me all around town. Takane-chan is trying to stop them, and Kano-san is jogging behind, laughing loudly.

Uh-oh. A corner. Oba/Momo-san says, “Now we’ve got you,” and Oba/Chi-chan just stood behind her, smirking. I looked into her eyes and blacked out, the only image a flash of red.

I woke up on Chi-chan’s back. “Wh-where are we going?”

“I don’t know,” she said. “I’m just walking.”

“Put me down.”

She dropped me, and I landed roughly on my back. And what I saw then, I couldn’t believe. “H-Hiyori-san?”

She smiled at me. “Yeah, who else?”

“Where am I?” But I already knew. I was back in the Heat-Haze loop, but this time, Chi-chan was with us.

No.

We were at a crosswalk. “I’ll go first,” Hiyori said. When the light turned green.

“Wai—” I started to say, but Chi clamped a hand firmly over my mouth, whispering, “I’m here to protect you.”

When the car came, Hiyori was right in its path. But Chi-chan, as fast as a bullet, ran to her and pushed her out of the way.

BOOM.

Chi-chan’s body went flying. My eyes went red, and I saw her blood-soaked mouth moving, but I couldn’t hear what she was saying… then it all went black.

Two

We were walking up the stairs. Hiyori-san slipped, and started to fall. Chi-chan was waiting there, on the twentieth step. She caught Hiyori, threw her up to my arms. But in doing so, fell backwards, tumbling down the steps.

BOOM.

Three

Hiyori and I were leaning against a railing atop a bridge. Chi-chan was standing across from us. Hiyori was blabbing about something. Chi was nodding her head, but I couldn’t seem to hear what was going on. Suddenly the railing that Hiyori was leading on broke, and she fell backwards. Chi grabbed her hand and threw her back up. Chi fell instead of Hiyori.

BOOM.

Four

We were walking near an abandoned construction site. “Isn’t this dangerous?” I asked, but no one seemed to hear me. I heard a creaking noise. I looked up, and poles from the construction site started tumbling down from above. Right towards Hiyori. Chi-chan ran towards her and pushed her to me. She stood there, smiling at us, saying something I couldn’t hear. I was too shocked to move. A pole pierced her body straight through. I looked at her glassy eyes, her everlasting smile plastered on her face.

BOOM.

Five

We were walking down the sidewalk, nothing dangerous seemed to be near… until Hiyori saw a cat. She chased it towards the construction site that we were at before. Chi was suddenly standing in front of the cat. She picked it up and handed it to Hiyori. “Take care of it…” She stepped backwards, right into a manhole. I climbed down to see if Chi was all right. She’d cracked her head on the floor. It was bleeding everywhere. Tears were dripping down my face. “Chi-chan…”

“It’s all right, Hibiya…”

BOOM.

It went on like that for a while.

BOOM.

Anymore…

Three-thousand and fifty-seven

“I’ll go first,” Hiyori said.

I started running before Chi could react.

But I didn’t make it in time,

And we both ended up getting hit.

Chi was standing over me, sobbing. “I guess I messed up again…” I could barely focus on her. I reached out slowly, but it was too late. She was falling backwards onto a sharp piece of metal that dropped from the car.

BOOM. We’re

BOOM. All

BOOM. Gone…

I woke up with a start on the couch of apartment 107. Chi-chan was standing over me, concerned. “Are you okay, Hibiya?”

I sat up straight and hugged her, crying into her shirt.

She hugged me back.

I was out getting food for everyone, along with Chi. We were crossing the road… and suddenly, I was pushed backward. Chi-chan was standing in the path of the car… and right before it hit her, I saw Hiyori standing in her place.

That had to be an illusion, right?

I ran up to Chi, sobbing. Through the commotion that was happening around us, I heard what she was saying all along.

“Guess I ruined such a happy ending…”

BOOM.

OHMYDIRTY I HAD SO MUCH FUN MAKING THIS CHAPTER

I guess Hibiya and Chi have a special connection now...

I made this a mixture of Heat-Haze Daze and Konoha's State of The World because it was cool and it really blended well.
