Na-Ra despised it when her day didn't go as she expected. But then who did? From childhood, she was always used to getting her way. Today, however, was the opposite. When things didn't go her way, she got angry. Very very angry.
The omega wanted to punch someone or something, which wasn't an option right now. She tried to hold her rage in like she did at all times. But it wasn't working like it usually. She was known to have a cool head all the time. Except, when it came to Jimin, she lost all sense of logic.
Na-Rae would often tell her that she was obsessed with the alpha and it wasn't good. The omega couldn't quite explain what it was. Perhaps it was because she had wanted to be Jimin's omega for so long. Or it was because he was the only alpha who wouldn't give her any attention.
Her initial plan was to go in, flash a smile and meet Jun-Myeon to get rid of everything he has on her. Also, to hear what information he had about Jimin.
But then things went down the other way swiftly. First, she didn't expect Mr. Park to show up in court. The busy man made an exception for someone who wasn't family or a friend. Second, he had shut her off when she questioned his connection with that regular omega. Third, Mrs. Park defended her husband and claimed that lowly omega was theirs.
Several questions flooded her mind. Who was Jungkook? What was his connection with the Park family? Why hasn't she known about him all these years? Where did he pop out from so suddenly?
She fought the urge to bite her recently manicured nails. That shit was not only expensive but she didn't want to sit through another three hours to get them done so soon.
Ugh!
Why is he so important?
Who is he to you?
Does Jimin know about this special treatment? He saved him, yes. But did he save him because he knew who he was? Did he go to this extent because it was this lowly omega?
Or he wasn't aware of his father's intentions at all. She was there at the parking lot after all. He didn't see them communicate in any manner. Jimin had left the scene as soon as the hotel security arrived. This must be something else.
Shit.
What was she going to do if Jimin said something she didn't want to hear? What if the lowly mutt was in fact pregnant? How does she figure that out?
Na-Ra couldn't stomach the thoughts of someone else being able to have the alpha she always wanted but couldn't have. Why would Jimin avoid her like a plague? He used to dote on her, walk her to the classes and buy her cute gifts. He used to hover around her and look at her with what could only be hearts in his eyes.
Then that changed one night. His birthday night to be exact. They were supposed to spend it together. But he had broken that promise and never showed up. Instead, he went out with Taehyung, a fellow man whore, who had a reputation of corrupting anyone he mingled with. Then came back as a different man.
Oh, how much she despised Taehyung, but had to put up a brave smile because he was still in Jimin's close friend circle that was stronger than a palace fortress.
Fuck this!
She wasn't able to stew in her thoughts for longer because one of the attorney's assistants came to fetch her. The meek assistant, likely a fresher, led her to one of the offices that were on another level. It looked like a back office. He gestured her to go inside and closed the door behind her.
Na-Ra entered the room, glancing around and finding only Jun-Myeon inside. The bastard grinned ear to ear as soon as he saw her. He looked as if he was eager to meet her. But to her, it was the opposite.
"Shin Na-Ra!" He jumped to his feet. "It's been so long. Oh, my, my..." he drawled, gaze scanning down her frame with only what she could decipher as unadulterated lust. "Smell so good and look so delicious." His eyes flicked up to her face. "Missed you, sweetheart."
Na-Ra clenched her fist. "Why did you want to see me?"
"Ah, no hugs?" He sauntered toward her, opening his arms wide or at least trying to because the handcuffs restricted his movements. "Come on. For old time's sake." He tried to hug her and she pushed him away.
She growled, "I'm not here to share pleasantries. Why am I here?"
Jun-Myeon was an idiot to even get involved in something as shameless as this. He had the money and power to have anyone he wanted, but he had to go after nobody and get busted.
Jun-Myeon smirked. "Shouldn't you know that already? Why ask me?"
"You..." she hissed, poking at his chest with her index finger. "...threatened me with a couple of our pics you took without my knowledge and forced me to come here today."
Jun-Myeon sighed. "Listen, darling, I just wanted some company, alright? I didn't want to go through this alone...and I knew you wouldn't have come if not for those photos. No harm intended. You're here. It got the job done, didn't it?"
She hit his chest with her bag. "Fuck you!"
"Gladly." He grinned, catching her hand, fingers tracing the back of her hand suggestively. "We don't have much time but I can make it work," he said. "A quickie wouldn't hurt before I'm shipped off to that dry land. Alphas aren't really my type, you know?"
"Speak or I'm leaving." Na-Ra pushed him off with a huff. She rolled her eyes, turning away from him. "What is that you want me to know?"
"Not so fast," he said. "I have a proposition first."
"Are you even in a position to give me a proposition?" Na-Ra scoffed. This idiot still thought he had a chance. "And it benefits me how?"
"Hear me out," he said with a serious expression. All traces of casualness vanished from his face and it wasn't everyday he did that. "I don't want to go to jail. I mean nobody likes going to jail. I'm going fucking crazy being locked up. You know what kind of person I am. I like to live my life to the fullest. Party, booze, omegas... So here's something my attorney suggested." He stepped in front of her, looking her in the eye. "That bastard made sure to cover all loopholes and there's no way I can get rid of or buy off the witnesses. The second option is to prove that I'm not a molester like they claim to be. It was a drunken mistake and nothing more. And... you will help me prove that."
Unbelievable.
"You think I'll help you because?"
He lifted both hands, pointing his index finger toward her. When he spoke, his voice held a warning. "Na-Ra, let's not take that tone. We both want something from each other. Just claim that we're dating and get over with this. Help me get out of jail."
Her eyes widened with disbelief. "What? You gotta be kidding me. You and me? Dating publicly?"
"Nothing serious. Fake dating?" he suggested. "Just for a couple of months. We can tell them that we were dating in secret and that night I was waiting at the parking lot to meet you. I'm off the hook and we can be on each other's merry way. What do you say?" His tone was back to normal with his signature playfulness.
"Not happening." She stepped away from him.
"I still have the photos to prove my claim with or without your consent," his tone grew harder, features cold. "I'm trying to be nice here."
Na-Ra whirled around, grabbing his shirt. "I fucking knew it!" she hissed. "This idea is bull shit. How could you ever think I'll do something like that? Why would I ruin my life to help you?"
"Ah...let me get this straight then. You don't want to help mainly because if you do this, then you'd get onto Jimin's bad side and your decade long dreams of marrying him would go down in ashes. But I'm here to tell you that don't waste your time and effort on him. He isn't gonna marry you."
Na-Ra gritted her teeth.
"If money and status is what you want, then you'll get that by marrying me. You don't need Jimin for that. The Choi family isn't any less compared to the Parks."
Na-Ra huffed. "It's not always about money or status. I have my own and I don't need Jimin or you for that." Her chest heaved. "I love him and I want him at any cost. You knew this. I only have him in my heart."
Jun-Myeon rolled his eyes. "Come on, sweetheart. Who is bullshitting now? You clearly know your family is no match to the Chois or the Parks. Your great grandfather drove your family into bankruptcy with his illegal gambling habit and your father was lucky he was able to build it back from the ruins. If not for his purebred status that would have been impossible. Even before that your family fortune was nothing compared to us. The Shins used to be cart drivers and guards for our ancestors."
Na-Ra clenched her jaw. "We're done here." She turned to leave.
He grabbed her elbow, fingers digging into her flesh. "We're not done until I say so." His voice held a level of finality she wasn't used to. "You can do this willingly or unwillingly. I'll give you until the day before our next hearing date," he said. "Think clearly, Na-Ra. Everything depends on your decision."
Na-Ra scoffed. "You're a fool if you think I'll fall for your manipulation and poorly crafted tactics. You're locked up for a sexual offense and now you're threatening me with the photos you took of me without my consent." She notched her chin. "What makes you believe I wouldn't turn into one of the witnesses and claim that I'm one of your victims? I could say you drugged me and used me? Or I could claim that we used to date but we broke up because you were constantly cheating on me with the others but now you're threatening me with the photos and videos. How is that for starters, huh?"
Jun-Myeon stared at her silently as if he didn't consider this angle.
"Who do you think people would believe? You or me? I have your texts as proof," Na-Ra continued. "You're a continuous sex offender unlike me. I'm the omega here. By default, the law is in my favor. So think about your next action very clearly, Jun-Myeon. I might be one of the omegas you fucked but I'm not one of your omegas. If you know what's good for you, delete the photos and videos you have of me and never contact me again."
She pivoted on her heel and began to walk away. She was done here. Her blood boiled with anger. How dare he?! How could he ever think she'd be down to do something like this?
The audacity.
She will show him.
"Hey, Na-Ra," Jun-Myeon called. "Ever wondered why Jimin never looked at you twice?" His voice taunted her. "Wonder why he'll never date you? Don't wanna know who his new omega is?"
Na-Ra gritted her teeth. He was baiting her again. This time the price he demanded wasn't ust a simple fuck but her entire future. "Fuck off, Jun-Myeon. I shouldn't have come here believing your words in the first place. You're all bark and no bite."
Jun-Myeon went back to sit on the chair, manspreading his legs as he sat comfortably. "Why would I bite when I know I won't get what I want from you?" he asked casually, leaning on his elbows. "Alright I'll let you in on this information since there's no use in withholding this information anymore. You would wanna listen. Trust me."
Her brows knitted. Was he going to give that information for free? Sounded suspicious but she couldn't help it. The hand that was already on the door knob fell down. She turned to face him. "You have one minute. Tell me what I want to hear."
"You're so easy, Na-Ra. Nothing has changed much about you." He laughed, fingers drumming on the table rhythmically. "As much as you want to leave, you also want to hear the answer. You won't regret it but you'd wanna sit for this one."
"Out with it," she hissed, taking a few steps toward him.
"Alright, alright." He lifted both hands in the air with a shit-eating grin. "Remember that day we fucked in the gym?"
Her eyes narrowed, but said nothing.
"I think it was just a day before Jimin's birthday. You were too horny and we went at it against the wall," he reminisced with his eyes closed. "That day is still top on my list."
"That's enough." She pivoted on her heel, ready to leave again.
"Jimin saw us."
Na-Ra froze in her spot.
"He was there." She whirled around to see the smugness on his face. "Right when you demanded me to go harder, and harder, and harder...he was right there, watching you getting fucked by me."
"What the hell!" she growled. Na-Ra stared at him with distrust. "That's not funny."
She searched for something in his face to give away the truth but he looked way too confident. Jun-Myeon held that expression only when he spoke the truth.
"Were you too lost in pleasure to notice?" Jun-Myeon scoffed. "I know I'm good." He looked extremely pleased. "Bet he came looking for you. I saw him while we were switching positions so you could ride me. I saw him standing there, eyes flashing red and looking furious. I saw him leave just as you came all over my cock."
Na-Ra's grip on her bag loosened. "W-What? Y-You're lying."
That cannot be possible.
"Later, I heard from my friends that he got wasted with Taehyung and whored around all night." He sat back, crossing his leg at the knee. "He never celebrated that birthday with you, did he? You were supposed to go out on another cute date that night, but he never came and stood you up for the first time since you both started hanging out together. And soon he could barely stand you."
Her throat ran dry. "T-That's not true." Her knees trembled. This cannot be true. Jun-Myeon must be lying. He was lying. Jimin would have confronted her.
However, deep down, she knew he wasn't lying and there was a possibility that it could be true. She took a few more steps forward, gripping the armchair for support. What has she done!
"Ask him," he challenged. "Why do you think he hates me the most? Because I took what he used to think was his. The bastard is still salty. But taking what was willingly offered to me cannot be considered as stealing, right?"
Her knees weakened and she shakily sat on the arm chair. She shook her head. "T-That's not true," she whispered. "He couldn't have been there."
Jun-Myeon shrugged. "It is true. I got nothing to lose. Why would I lie? The reason Jimin cut you off abruptly is because he saw us fucking."
Angry tears burned her eyes and her frustration mounted. She was torn between believing his words and confronting him. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
"And lose the good fuck I was getting?" he questioned with a scoff. "Come on. You know me better than that. What do you think you'd have done? You'd have blamed everything on me and fallen on your knees in front of him, begging him to take you back. I chose what was the best choice for me then. I always do."
"You..." she hissed. "You're a fucking liar!" Her eyes blazed. "You're telling me this so you can get me to agree to your proposition."
Jun-Myeon exhaled. "It'd work for the both of us if you agreed, but no I'm telling you this because I wanted to burst that fancy bubble holding your head up in the clouds. No matter how many years pass, Jimin wouldn't accept you as his mate. The guy got standards after all. He wouldn't go for my leftovers, especially my leftovers."
Na-Ra screamed, climbing over the table to grab his collar this time. "I'll fucking kill you."
Jun-Myeon just looked at her unfazed and grinned. "Do that and you'll never learn who his omega is?"
"Jimin doesn't have an omega," she thundered. She would have known. Even the private detective they hired couldn't find anything. "You just want to get a raise out of me because I wouldn't agree to your demand."
Jun-Myeon's grin widened. "Oh, he does, sweetheart. Why do you think he broke up with Jiseung? Heard they never even fucked and walked out on him."
Na-Ra pulled back as if she was burned by fire. How did he know? "Did you speak to Jiseung?"
"I don't have to." Jun-Myeon smiled, removing her hand from his collar. "Accept my proposition and you'll only gain societal status and power. Continue with this stupid dream of marrying Jimin and you'll end up with nothing." He stood, adjusting his suit jacket and smoothening his collar. "It's time to pick sides, Na-Ra. It's either Jimin or me. The ball is in your court now. I'm offering you something more solid. By agreeing to be on my side, you won't lose anything. But if you side with Jimin, then you'll lose everything, including him. Decide wisely."
Without further word, he walked out of the office they were in announcing, "I'm done. Let's go," to someone she couldn't see.
Tears blurred her vision and her hands continued to tremble as she was left alone to face the bitter truth that was just revealed to her. Could this be really true? How would she know if he was lying or not?
Fuck!

FAQ:
Q: I am curious how this universe works if you will answer my question. Do purebreds not work regular jobs? They can't all be rich, right? I get the idea about regular wolves since society won't let them go higher. So does that mean purebreds if born poor can rise higher quicker?
A: Purebreds are less in number. They're not rare but the regular wolves outnumber them. say they're like 100:1000. Purebreds are mostly employers and they don't do regular jobs. They are like rulers and nobles who evolved. They're favored by the govt because of their pedigree and the govt is trying to increase their numbers. But still it's not that easy. Since the purebreds affinity to mate only with other purebreds and purebred omegas aren't keen to pushout babies like the govt wants them to do. Also, the money and positions is passed down the generations. Basically there are no poor purebreds. Regular wolves can produce purebred off springs only if they mated with a purebred. Hope that makes it clear.
Q: Someone had asked what would have happened if Jimin had started dating Na-Ra and if she hadn't hooked up with Jun-Myeon in the past now that he is imprinted on Jungkook. Sorry the comment came on Twitter and before I could respond it went away and I couldn't find it again.
A: Animprint doesn't necessarily mean they'd have to date. The bond grows only ifthey nurture it and wanes if they don't. Also, Na-Ra grew up in a householdwhere they don't value mating as they should. Her parents are in an openrelationship and it'd have eventually changed the game. They would have brokenup one way or another for some reason. Their relationship wouldn't have lastedlong because how different they are as individuals and have different views onrelationship and mating. They're not compatible at all as couples and theinitial attraction would have burned out at least for Jimin.
A/N: I might be out of commission for the next few days due to monthly war so weekend update is doubtful. It depends on my health. So see ya!
