The demeanor of the room drastically changed. The once calm, serene atmosphere quickly deteriorated to utter chaos, despair. I watched in horror as Grandmother was dragged away, her tear stains evident. The men in black suits scanned the room once more before disappearing down into the depths of the house. The keychain I withheld had 4 prominent gems, but remained monochrome. Tears trailed down my cheeks, as the reality hit me. The one person who loved me, had vanished, just like all the others. Mother, Father, even Foster! My eyes shrouded with darkness, as unconsciousness overtook me.

The moonlight caressed my cheek as it hung above. The night's spring wind tickled my hair and sent my shirt fluttering. The warmth of Grandmother comforted the once negative feelings that used to exist within me. The view was breathtaking. The hunter's moon shined ever so vibrantly in the sky, while clouds cascaded the midnight horizon. Truly a sight to behold. Then a voice called to me.
"Thomas?" she asked. With my gaze still attached to the window, I replied,
"What is it, Grandmother?"
"Will you miss me?" Slightly confused I locked my eyes onto hers, red eyes evident.
"What do you mean?"  I quickly responded.
"They're coming, dear. To take me." She sniffled before continuing. "Thomas, you must take this." She detached a keychain from her wrist and wrapped it around mine. "When you learn to control this power, you can end this idiotic war, and bring peace. I believe you, Thomas, can end this once and for all!" she triumphantly shouted.
Shock over took me. I didn't know what to say.
"Grandm-a, please tell me more! I can't go through this alone! You have to help me!" I implored. She smiled at me for a brief moment before saying, "Dear, you will never be alone, I will always be with you." Suddenly the sound of a clashing resonated through the house. "They're here." she murmured. She acted fast. Opening a plank from the floor, she ordered me to climb in.
"What?" I exclaimed, " Where are you going to go?" She hinted a smile before closing the plank.
"Silence child!" She said harshly, but her face returned to sorrow. "Thomas, I want to help you, guide you, but I have run out of time. You must heed my final words. Who. Are. You. Fighting. For?" She choked back tears as she sealed the plank. Confusion plagued my head. Everything was so random and all at once, I could not keep up with it. A small opening allowed me to witness the scene that was playing overhead. The door lashed open revealing three men in black suits. They held gunfire, pointed into the room. They shouted orders to each other, while Grandmother protested against them, trying to convince them that she wasn't  a "Conjurer". They spoke in an incoherent language that Grandmother seemed to be quite eloquent in. Suddenly one of the men, grabbed her two wrists and twisted them behind her back. She winced at the sharp pain, but did not protest. I yearned to assist her, but I then realized her "sacrifice" would be in vain. They searched her body, looking for something, it seemed. Then, one man abruptly stopped, pointing at her leg. Grandmother was seemingly calm, but in her eyes, I saw horror. The other three men examined the spot and nodded to each other. BOOM!!

My eyes blasted open. Gasping for breath, I analyzed my surroundings. The wooden plank laid overhead.
