#65: Succulents
"Chuuya?"
"What?"
"What is...this?"
Dazai hoists up a potted shrubbery.
Chuuya finishes tying his hair and cocks an eyebrow at the taller man. "It's a plant? I thought you were a genius."
Dazai scowls. "I know it's a plant. My question would more accurately be, why did you get it?"
"Because it looks nice?"
Dazai motions to the succulents scattered around on their kitchen island. "Is that why you bought those, too?"
"Yes?"
Dazai stares at the redhead, judgingly. "They're stupid."
"No they're not."
"Why would you buy them, just because they look nice? You've gotta slave away to keep all these alive, too."
"No, I don't. You're helping me. As long as you live here, my plants are your plants."
Dazai sighs and hangs his head like a child. "But they're so stupid!"
Chuuya prepares himself to kick Dazai.
But instead, he gets an idea.
"Really? Why don't you go over to the succulents and examine them closer?"
Dazai groans, and then obeys, going over to the succulents. He leans around the island, examining ever millimeter of the "useless" plants, incoherently mumbling something probably obnoxious.
Until he touches one of them.
"Woah, it's soft!"
Chuuya smiles as Dazai picks up the potted plant and studies it closer, and continues rubbing its leaves.
Dazai feels two arms wrap around him and smirks.
"Oh? What is it that you want, Chuuya?"
He feels Chuuya stand on his toes and bury his nose in the bit of Dazai's hair he can reach.
"Nothing. Just...you're cute, is all."
"Eh?"
Dazai slams down the succulent, causing a loud thud. He spins around and looks at Chuuya, wide-eyed.
"No, I'm not! You're the cute one!"
"Not in this situation. I'm not the one who's eyes are sparkling at the texture of plants."
Dazai acquiesces and sinks into Chuuya's arms.
"You know my heart can't take it when you say things like that."
Chuuya embraces the taller man back. "Heart? What heart?"
Dazai nuzzles the redhead. "Chuuya's so mean..."
Chuuya sighs into Dazai's touch. "Yeah, I guess he is."
