#10: Wedding Veil

Chuuya has a blanket with him draped over his head, using it to funnel light to read.

Dazai walks by and sees Chuuya that way, stares for a bit, and lets out a soft laugh.

Chuuya's head quickly turns toward the source of the laughter and a scowl appears on his face.

"What do you want?" he asks coldly.

Dazai smirks. "You look like you're wearing a wedding veil, Chibikko," he answers.

Chuuya's face instantly turns red. He tears the blanket off of his head, avoids eye contact with Dazai, and tells him to shut up, to which Dazai laughs again and walks away.

"Shitty Dazai," Chuuya mumbles, "for making me feel these things." He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small velvet box and looks at the contents, his heart racing.

He pulls the blanket back over his head and watches light strike the gem in a beautiful manner.

He hated feeling vulnerable. Endeared. Loving. But he felt all those things.

And maybe soon he will grow to not hate them so much. Once he gains the confidence to finally execute his plan.

So more positive emotions will fill him. But more importantly, so Dazai could not leave him again.
