What is the problem of those two mutts? What did I do? They should be thankful I was not stalking Lenka the previous night because I was sleeping but they seem to be angry with the idea that sooner or later, I have to bite the girl to awaken Rin or her Vampire side.

It seems that she doesn’t appreciate me either.

After Lyra and Akaito left me in the classroom, I got a call from my manager.

“Yeah?”

“You have shooting this afternoon for your music video. Can you make it here by one in the afternoon?” he said.

“Where is ‘here’?” I asked him and grabbed my things and went out of the classroom.

“Siren lake. Do you know where it is?” He asked.

“Of course I do.” I told him and ended the call.

Maybe I’ll leave it to them for a while…I hope they’ll be fine.

I ran out of the classroom, to my car and drove away.

Nikki

I was left alone in the mansion and no one was there to keep me company since most of the people in the place was busy cleaning this and that, fixing this and that.

I stayed at my room and was humming a song I fancied back then and stared at the crystal chandelier that hung at the ceiling as the ticks of the big ben echoed through my room. I can even hear the taps of the feet outside my room as maids walked back and forth the rooms to clean them.

It wasn’t a big deal for me to be alone since I grew independent thank to being alone but it’s just hard to think about it right now.

“Hey.” A voice called and it made me sit right up only for me to see that a blonde guy was standing at my balcony while he was looking at me with his sharp red eyes.

“Uhm…” I was speechless when I saw him because I felt something different from what I feel before. I don’t know him but I know he can be trusted. At Least I can trust him.

“Lonely?” He asked and stepped in my room. My mind alerted my whole body that he looked quite dangerous, but something else told me he isn’t.

“Quite. Who are you?” I asked and looked at him, completely whimsical on his whole being.

He gave me a wide smile, a deceitful and deceiving one but he…I think I was blushing madly. I don’t know since I asked them to take out the vanity table from my room.

“I’m Kano.” He introduced himself. “You are?”

“Nikki.” I told him and stood up and gave a polite curtsy at him. “How did you find me?”

He chuckled and I pouted. Was he mocking me? I don’t know if he was amused or mocking me but I didn’t mind because I looked around the room and saw a deck of cards.

“Anyway, wanna play?” I asked him and he smiled.

“I don’t mind but you look like you trust people easily. Why so?” He asked.

“I have a gift. I know if people are trustworthy or not and you happen to be a trustworthy person to me so I’m good with that.” I told him in full honestly and tossed the cards at the bed.

“Oh.” His mouth obviously displayed that he is amused and sat down across me anyway. “You know, I have a better idea.” He said and I looked at him.

“What?” I asked him and glanced at the big ben at my wall. It was probably lunch time at Lenka’s school.

“Why don’t we go around town?” He asked. Not a bad idea but I still have a question at my mind. It had been playing around my brain since I saw Kano from the window.

“Before I answer that, answer this:” I took a deep breath and my eyes changed colors. “Are you human?”

He laughed wholeheartedly while he held his stomach. Did I say something wrong? Was what I asked weird?

Finally, he stopped laughing and looked at me with a grin. It sent shivers to my spine.

“I’m not. I’m the same as you, Nikki.” He said and grabbed my hand and carried me by my waist and jumped out of the balcony.

“Miss Nikki!” A maid saw me jumped out with Kano but I smiled and told her that I’ll be out for a while and they should rest assure I’m safe with the stranger who carried me out of the window.

A few minutes later, Kano set me down and we were in front of a school.

“Where? What?” I was puzzled. Well, he did mention that we were walking around town. First stop: School.

“Just a fast round at the school. I want you to meet some people.” He told me and we walked in. The guard surprisingly let us in without any question.

We walked up to what it seems the school canteen and he stopped when he bowed in front of…

“Miss Lenka, Nice to see you again.” He said and the girl turned around.

“Kano. It seems that you found my baby sis. How’s the second day for you?” She asked and smiled at me and Kano.

“Same old, same old.” He shrugged and chuckled. “Say, can I take her around town? You left her alone back at the mansion.”

“Because I thought you were there to look out for her.” She crossed her arms, obviously annoyed with the guy.

“Well, sorry. I was out doing errands for Danchou.” He told Lenka. Lenka-nee sighed and looked at me.

“Nikki, Kano’s my trusted cousin so rest assure that he’ll take care of you. He’ll show you around and I’ll leave you my credit card so you can go shopping, ‘kay?” She smiled at me and my eyes sparkled with delight upon the thought of shopping.

“Un~” I nodded and gave her a hug after she handed me her diamond credit card.

“Kano,” She looked up at the blonde. “be careful.” Her arms filled with a silent warning.

“I will. Want me to call the rest of the group to accompany us?” Kano asked with a wide grin but Lenka shook her head.

“Not for now. They’ll stay at the school grounds.” She told them and looked at me again. “Have fun with him~”

I smiled at Lenka-nee and walked out of school with Kano.

“You didn’t tell me that Lenka-nee is your cousin.” I pouted and he gave me a small chuckle.

“Because you didn’t ask.” He said and carried me and started jumping from one building to another to get to the mall.

When we arrived, Kano had to remove his hood and scan the place where we landed before placing me down the ground. People were walking around with bags of stuff at their hands and my nose caught a whiff of the pizza and the fresh bread they were baking.

“So, where shall we start?” He asked and we started walking around.

Since I just moved in Lenka-nee’s mansion this morning, I have no clothes to wear. Only this dress that I am wearing.

“Clothes?” I asked and shrugged.

“I don’t mind but I suggest we get something to eat first so you can have fun for the rest of the day. That okay?” He asked and reached out his hand to mine. I didn’t mind and took it.

What do you call this again? A date? OAO;;

Kano

This isn’t the first time I have seen Nikki. I have been around that forest for a few months to observe her and she doesn’t really like showing around people until she saw Lenka by the Siren Lake at the forest. It was like she was attracted to the energy around my cousin which made her appear in front of her.

She’s really a charming girl. The snow white of the forest. I even heard a rumor that she’s the ghost of the forest but I knew better.

Today was probably one of my best as I saw her smile at me. What made me so attracted to this girl?

I led her to the food court where people were eating and I made her pick where she wants to eat only to find out that she likes strawberries, candies and anything red—even the jalapeno doesn’t seem to bother her.

I picked a good bowl of shoyu ramen and started eating with Nikki across me in front of a lot of red food.

“Aren’t you bothered by the spiciness?” I politely asked and she shook her head, making the red sauce trace her lips as she ate. She looks like she’s a girl in a lip gloss.

“Not really. I just want the red things.” She took a bite from her spicy rice cake before continuing her sentence. “There’s a reason why they named me Nikki Red.”

I smiled. Nikki Red. I like her name.

“I can now see their point.” I joked and she chuckled with me.

After that, we raced to eat all of our food and she won. How can she win?! She has more than seven red dishes and three cakes in front of her while I have a single bowl of ramen? This girl works wonders…

When we finished our food, we went to the second floor and walked around before we decided to go in one of the boutiques.

She was looking around the racks when she saw a good looking dress. A lady asked if she wants to try it out which she happily did and after she changed into it, I think my eyes were deceiving me since I was looking at a gorgeous doll.

“Nice dress.” I told her and smiled. A faint tint of red was at her cheeks. She turned around and called the lady who assisted her and whispered something and the lady nodded and went around the boutique and picked a few more clothes for Nikki who tried it all and showed it all to me. They looked good on her.

After picking three dresses, four jeans, seven shirts, three jackets and two bags, she paid it all and took the bags on her own.

I took most of the bags and that made her flustered.

“Thank you.” She smiled at me and made blood rush to my cheeks. I covered half of my face and looked away. This girl is way too adorable.

“W-where to next?” I stuttered and she chuckled.

“Shoes, if you don’t mind.” She answered with her eyebrows knitted together with worry. Why? Do I look like I have fever now? That’s not good.

“I don’t mind.” I told her and looked back at her where I saw her smile at me again. This girl is pretty alright.

We went to a Converse outlet where I was tempted to buy a pair of shoes for me and Danchou. She likes those green ones as I recalled but that girl might kill me if she finds out that I used Lenka’s card to pay it.

Nikki looked around and it was pretty easy to look for her shoe size since she’s such a petit girl but she knows how to shop. She picked three pairs of shoes and bought them without holding back. I can’t blame her. Lenka spoils people sometimes like she was giving away candies to children.

Nikki looked at me while I sat at one of the chair and approached me with the bags of her shoes at her hand.

“You won’t buy anything?” She asked and sat next to me.

“I’m good.” I told her.

Though I do need to buy another hoodie…

“You need a hoodie?” She asked.

How did she know? I’m pretty sure that she’s a vampire like I am but so far, I have only seen one of her gifts.

I looked at Nikki and she must have known what that meant.

“Woah, woah, woah. We better fix this. We need Len to confirm this.” I told her and she nodded, completely flustered as I am.

“Y-yeah…we must..” She stood up, stiff as a stick and went out of the shop in the same state as I am.

Mind link---It’s only for the fated ones. For werewolves, it’s for their ‘mates’. For vampires, it’s their ‘destines’.

I just hope Nikki won’t kill me for being hers.

“I hope Kano won’t kill me for being his.” I heard in my mind and I looked at her again.

One day. One trip out of town. One meeting.

Only one and I found her?
