Lenka's P.O.V.

When I heard tires screeching against the mansion pavement, I immediately knew that it was the doctor. I rushed to open the mansion door for her and pulled her in to show where the Nikki was. Kano and I have been worried about her for a while. She hasn't moved or gave a sign to us that she was conscious. It worried me that she might never wake up at all.

"Lenka, why did you think of calling me and not any other of your family doctors?" She asked but I didn't answer her. I was too preoccupied with thinking what could possibly happen to Nikki. I was treating her as my younger sister that I never had. I only have an older brother who I don't know where in the world is he right now sop technically I'm alone. I can't afford to lose Nikki now.

When we arrived at the room, Kano looked up and was wide eyed when he saw the doctor. 

Why such a bizarre reaction from him? I've seen him meet the worst of people but this one is quite strange. What's with the doctor?

"Lenka...Is she...the doctor?" He asked.

How did he even know? The doctor was barely dressed like one. She was wearing a dress quite extravagant for a house visit. It's making me more and more curious.

"I am the doctor, may I see her?" She asked and slowly approached Nikki's unconscious figure but Kano hissed and used himself to block the doctor from touching the girl.

What in the world is going on?!

"Kano? Why are you blocking the doctor? She just wants to look at--"

"La Reyna." He hissed.

The doctor stopped walking and had a straight look on her face.

"W-What do you mean?" An unsettling feeling washed over me. Something's telling me, not Rin not even my own consciousness, but something else, like an instinct of mine, to start backing away and start running but I was frozen at my spot by the door, completely confused.

Kano shot a look of warning at me. I hitched my breath as I saw his own eyes crimson red and he was ready to pounce at the doctor.

"Kano!" I shouted at him and started walking to him. "The doctor is not her. What are you talking about? She's here to take a look at Nikki." I told him.

"Why did she come here? Nikki isn't human so why invite a doctor knowing that she can't be healed by their human ways in the forts place?" He asked.

"I-I've known the doctor for a long time now. She's my own doctor so only seems fitting that I call her. besides, she knows--"

Huh?

She came her on her own accord...

I called her but she wasn't treating a human.

It was late at night.

The last time I saw the doctor was ten years ago...yet…Nothing changed at her appearance.

"Lenka, we don't have time to quarrel over this. Your friend over there is never going to wake up if you both don't allow me to look at her. Are you going to fight there or what?" The doctor asked and pushed us both away with a force that pushed me and Kano a few feet away from the bed.

What the...

"She...I...Nikki?" The doctor muttered and thanks to my sharp ears, I heard her mutter her name under her breath. 

"You know her?" I asked. I am pretty sure I have not introduced Nikki to anyone else but my friends. Never to the doctor...

"I-I've seen her before." She said and started going to work.

Kano dragged me out of the room and turned the light on before closing the door behind us. Standing in the hallway, I can see hate in his eyes and he was certainly not happy about the doctor.

"Lenka, the doctor...she's the one who turned Nikki. She's La Reyna. I-I've seen her in Nikki's memories." He told me.

"What? How is that possible?" I asked

"Nikki is old enough to have her own ability. I'm sure that's hers--memory sharing." Rin told me.

"Memory sharing. It's her ability. A very rare ability. Hard to use and manage." He told me.

"Called it.' Rin told me

"Shush." I told her and glued my eyes to the ground.

If the doctor wants to kill me…why did she go here to help Nikki? Was she expecting that I know nothing of her? Why?

Everything was so confusing and my heart was wavering. This is all too much, plus the worry I felt for Nikki while she tries to recover from her situation…it was just too much for me to handle.

“Kano, I…I need a bit more time. I need a few books to prove this. I just need to confirm—“

“Lenka! I saw her! Nikki was in the same situation! She turned Nikki to a vampire against her parents will.” Kano pushed.

“I don’t know that! What if she wasn’t a bad person?! What if someone else was the person who was taking the name ‘La Reyna’?! I don’t know what is what and I am new to all of this!” I snapped at him.

He was taken aback by my sudden outburst and took a step back. When I realized what I just did, I swear I wanted to take that minute back. Regret filled me up the brim.

“I-I’m sorry.” I started walking away from him while Kano kept calling me back.

“Lenka!” He called but I was already running out of the house by then, barefooted, going nowhere in particular.

I just needed a break. This was too much and it’s driving me insane!

General P.O.V.

The blonde certainly was having a rough time. She was not ready to have a fast paced revelation. Her own doctor? The person who wants to kill her? It was an outrage but she knows that Kano can be trusted.

She didn’t want to believe it but she believed it so she had to go away and think. Walking down the streets without any footwear, she gave no care to the people who looked at her. It was late night so no one really cares. People were drunk and wasted. She needs nothing of their judgmental looks in their eyes.

Soon, the girl reached the school without her knowing.

“What..?” She asked herself, not knowing why she decided to stop there.

As she stood in front of the school gate, she placed her hand on the cold metal bars as if she was a prisoner wanting to get out.

“Lenka?” A boy’s voice surprised the girl, making her whirl around in alarm only to see Len holding a bag of food from the convenience store from across the street.

“L-Len?” She stuttered only to realize that water drops were running down her cheeks, flowing down from her eyes.

“Why are you crying?” The boy asked and took out a handkerchief and started wiping the girl’s tears.

She shook her head, unable to speak, her voice stuck in her throat.

Len noticed her feet barefoot and he can see the nail polish of the girl, glimmering gold. He found it quite glamorous and adorable but he can save it for next time.

“Come on, I’ll take you home.”

Lenka shook her head and took a step back, her eyes horrified. She didn’t want to go home just yet.

“Okay, let’s go to my place then? It’s pretty chilly out. Have you eaten yet?” He asked. Lenka shook her head on the last question.

“Come on, I’ll cook you something.” Len volunteered and Lenka only nodded. Rin was telling her a few things in her head but it was just to calm the girl down. She was still confused after all, maybe a glass of wine or two isn’t that bad.

After walking in silence for a few minutes, both blonds arrived in front of a condominium building. Lenka walked past the guard without them looking at him which Lenka found just fine. He was a celebrity after all.

Using the elevator to get to the floor that Len, Lenka leaned against the cold metal wall and sighed. Her eyes were still a little puffy from crying but it was better than destroying everything in her way out of sheer frustration.

Once they stopped at the 17th floor, they went out and walked up to the front of the second door at their right. Len fumbled with the key for a while and opened the door.

Lenka was surprised that his place was kept neat but it was empty. Len opened the lights and called Lenka in the place before closing the door behind him.

“Feel free to make yourself at home. I’m pretty sure you need to rest.” Len said and went to the kitchen to get them both something to drink. He settled for a bottle of milk tea.

“Plus, your feet are bleeding.” He pointed out. Lenka’s eyes drifted to her own feet and pouted.

They were indeed bleeding and she didn’t notice it at all.

“let me clean that up for you.” He volunteered but Lenka shook her head. They’d regenerate sooner or later anyway.

Len gave the girl her drink and started with his own. For a while, they were silent until Len decided to talk.

“So…what happened?”

Lenka jolted and looked at him with her eyes trying to convey something un-fathomable.

She opened her mouth to talk.
