❀ Chapter fourteen ❀
Susie chuckled to herself, remembering what had happened in the dark world that day. She took a bite from her burger.

10:75, the dark world
After meeting up, Susie and Kris had been wandering around the dark world with a new friend they found. Well.... Not really a friend, exactly. This monster they met was super annoying and they wouldn't stop following the two of them, yabbering and gibbering on about this so called being a pacifist!
The name of this monster was Ralsei, and unfortunately for Ralsei; they discovered that Susie or Kris was not going the pacafist route like they have hoped. A quick kill of a monster with Susie's axe proved this. Susie also discovered that she could somehow teleport a large battle axe whenever they were in a fight. The same goes for Kris and their sword. This did not make sense to either of them, but Susie found it pretty fun fighting. It was almost like a game to her. She felt a little stronger too after slaying other monsters. It was almost as if she had some kind of level bar and every time she killed another monster, she would gain XP and LVL up.
Kris was pretty neutral about everything. At first, they were a little surprised about their whole situation, but it quickly died down. They knew that they and Susie would easily and quickly escape this place, and the fights they had encountered have been taken care of by Susie with no effort. Kris let Susie do all the work because they saw that she was enjoying it.
Soon, the three of them had met up with a young monster named Lancer. He had talked about capturing them for something (Susie couldn't remember because his voice was annoying; something about impressing his dad) and began to fight the three of them, but had quickly realized that Susie meant business.
Susie sure as hell wasn't going to take it easy on this kid! She formed her lips into a wide grin and slashed at the kid, laughing as he cried in pain, covering his new wound on his shoulder with his small hand. "Hohoho, you sound like fucking Santa Claus! Just shut the hell up already! Just take us to the damn exit before I slash your fucking arm off!"
Susie could see tears fall down the kid's cheeks and this fuelled something inside her even more. She laughed at him. "What, you were acting so tough just a minute ago! What happened?! Hahahaha!!"
"S-Stop it, please!" Ralsei yelled at her from the background. "Don't hurt him!" Despite wanting her to stop, he was too scared to get in her way and stood there, begging and hoping she wouldn't do anything more.
Kris just watched in silence and let Susie do whatever, a faint smile on their lips.
Susie heard Ralsei and simply ignored him, turning her head and giving him a hard death stare. Ralsei shivered, even though he didn't see her eyes behind the hair.
"....Dad..." Lancer mumbled, standing up, holding his sore shoulder. Susie looked back at him and chuckled, thinking he was going to continue his fight. She pointed her axe at him, accepting his challenge. "So you DO have energy left to fight? Great! I hate wimps! Heheh...."
To her surprise, Lancer turned and immediately began running in the opposite direction, most likely to the castle, since he did HAVE to let them know he was the King's son for whatever reason. "Hey, what the hell?! I'm not done talking to you!" Susie growled, starting to run after him, axe in her hand. She noticed him summon a bike, which was on fire(?), quickly jumped onto it and zoomed off.
As soon as she saw the bike, she stopped running, since she knew she wouldn't be able to chase after him. She also hated doing gym or any form of excersise and didn't want to waste her energy on some flaming bike. "Ah damn it, so everyone around here can just summon whatever the fuck they want into existence?!" She turned around, stomping back to Ralsei, who was shivering and cowering in fear.
Ralsei knew he couldn't make Susie pacifistic. Kris, on the other hand, confused him. He didn't know if the human was going to be friendly or a complete spawn of Satan like their friend.
Susie grabbed Ralsei by his cloak and pulled him up to her so she could stare at him. "Alrighty, little goat. You're gonna tell me where the hell that brat went, got it?" She said to him, grinning.
Ralsei stared back at her, eyes full of fear, he slowly pointed his finger behind Susie, "T-The card castle." Susie turned around, and faced Ralsei to the path, "Down here?" Ralsei slowly nodded, closing his eyes, hoping that Susie wouldn't kill anyone else.
Susie dropped him to the ground, Ralsei curling up in a ball when he hit the cold stone. "You better not lie to me, y'know that?" She said, still looking straight at the path while keeping the grin on her face. "You know what will happen if you lie to me."
"M-Mhm.." he nodded frantically, staring at the ground.
"Perfect, heheh... C'mon, Kris. Lets bust outta this dump."
Kris nodded their head and the two of them ran off.
"....." Ralsei slowly pulled his body up and followed the two. He wanted to try to save any lives he could.
A while later and killing anything that showed up in their path, Kris and Susie and a terrified Ralsei made it to the Card Castle. Ralsei had noticed the security had gotten much more heavy as they approached the Castle. Lancer most likely made it back already and told the King or someone higher up about everything. Unfortunately for him, Susie or Kris were unable to get captured by the guards that tried to attack them.
The three of them (Ralsei didn't do anything except beg them to stop and try to warn the monsters to run away) broke into the castle and worked their way up to the top floor where the King was waiting to fight.
The three of them walked into the throne room and Susie summoned and pointed her axe at the King. "So you're the boss here, right?" She grinned. "I assume you're not gonna let us leave without a fight, eh?"
"...."
Kris could see Lancer hiding in the background.
Ralsei noticed the boy too and he whispered for him to run.
Lancer did not move.
After having a brief talk, Susie and the King began to fight. Susie laughed, having fun dodging his attacks as well as throwing out some of her own. Within a few minutes, Susie had landed a hard attack at the King, chopping the spade chain off that extended from his stomach.
She let out a low chuckle, taking this time to take another attack. "Y'know... you said we were the bad guys at the beginning." She gave him a toothy grin.
"And you're absolutely right."
She laughed, defeating him before he could give a reaction. His body fell into two pieces, leaving a bloody mess behind. Susie saw Lancer hiding in the corner of the room, crying and she gave him a low chuckle, "Heheh...Well, see ya, kid." She turned and walked off.
Kris gave him a blank stare before following Susie.
Ralsei did not follow the two. They did more than enough damage to their world.
They both walked up to the portal and Susie stopped, looking down at her feet, as if thinking about something. "Hey..." Kris stopped as well and turned around to look at Susie, cocking their head. "Are you SURE we're not high on some shit?" She looked up at Kris, waiting for an answer of some kind. All Kris did was give her a small shrug, "Dunno." They responded. Susie began to slowly chuckle. "Hahaha... If we're not high, then we're murderes."
Susie noticed a faint smirk appear onto their face as they slowly walked to Susie, looking up to her. "....I don't really care." They quietly responded.
"You... don't care that we killed a whole bunch of monsters?"
"Not really." Kris muttered, letting a dark chuckle out. They motioned Susie to lean into them, as if they were going to whisper something. "What?" Susie said, leaning in so that they were both at eye level.
All of the sudden, Kris leaned in and gave Susie a deep kiss, quickly forcing their tongue into her mouth. "?!" Susie's eyes widened and she quickly pushed Kris away to the ground. "What the fuck, man?!"
Kris let out a small chuckle, standing back up and wiping their face. "....What?"
Susie rolled her fists into balls and growled, "Why the fuck did you do that?!"
"....I wonder why?" Kris slowly repeated Susie, a grin appearing on their face. "I felt like it."
Kris liked to mess and joke with Susie sometimes, but this was way too far! "I'm dating someone, THATS why!"
Kris chuckled. "Not like you told me anything about it."
Susie looked away, face slightly red. Why did Kris do that to her? Do they really think that this all a game? Her fists unrolled from the balls and she stormed past Kris without saying a word and walked through the portal. She heard Kris laughing as she went through, and suddenly everything turned white on her...

"Susie?"
Susie flinched, breaking out of her thiughts and she shook her head quickly to look back at Noelle. "Oh shit--Did you just say something?"
Noelle frowned a bit, sipping her hot chocolate. She placed it back down on the table as she made a slight nod. "I-I was wondering if you want to hang out after. My mom invited you over for dinner." She looked back up at Susie, "Is that okay?"
Susie drank another large sip of her root beer, a small grin appearing on her face afterwards. This was perfect timing! She didn't really want to see Kris after what happened, so hanging out with Noelle was just perfect. "Yeah, that's fine with me." She said, instantly seeing Noelle beaming up. "Oh, I'm so happy. D-Dinner might be late though, since my mom has a meeting and and is going to visit my dad after...I-is that okay though?"
Susie took her final bite of her burger and swallowed it. "Yeah, that's fine." Susie could see that Noelle was happy. And for some reason ... She was happy too. "Anyways, wanna get going?" She asked, cocking her head to the side as she leaned back on the booth.
Noelle saw one of her golden eyes peek through her hair as she leaned back and she resisted a blush. She simply nodded as she finished her hot chocolate. She looked around to look for Catti, and when she saw her hanging around the front bar, she waved her hand a bit to grab her attention. "U-Um--"
The other monster noticed Noelle before she really managed to say anything and she came walking over. "You guys finished?" She asked, getting a nod back from Noelle. "Great, I'll print out the reciept for you. Cash or credit?"
"U-Umm..." Noelle spoke up, trailing off as she quickly opened her backpack, rummaging around for her wallet. She pulled out a red and white stripped wallet, which Susie was reminded of a candy cane and opened it, handing Catti a fifty dollar bill. "Keep the change." She said, giving Catti a smile.
"Sweet." She grinned, shoving the bill into her pocket as she grabbed their empty cups and Susie's plates to the front.
"Ready to g-go?" Noelle asked.
"You bet." Susie grinned, sliding off the booth and standing up, stretching her arms.
The two of them walked out and began to walk to Noelle's house, which was about a five minute walk away. Susie shoved her hand into her pocket and rummaged around, pulling out her box of cigarettes. The quietness made Noelle feel very awkward. She decided to open her mouth and finally get rid of her biggest question.
"U-Uh... you and Kris...." Noelle brought up, face turning a slight shade of red. Oh god... why did I decide to bring that up? Do I not trust Susie...?! She thought to herself. Susie flicked the lighter and blew out some smoke. "Yeah? What about us?"
"Y-You guys aren't a thing.... right...?" Noelle stopped dead in her tracks. "I-I'm sorry, just forget what I sai—"
"Wait." Susie stopped also, staring at Noelle. Noelle could see her lips form into a wide grin and her eyes widened. "You think Kris and I are secretly going out?"
Noelle's face turned darker and she slowly nodded. "I-I'm sorry—"
Susie cut her off by bursting out into laughter and her heart skipped a beat. She was confused. The last thing she was trying to be was funny. "Fuck no!"
Noelle let out a deep sigh of relief. She felt bad for being relieved, but she couldn't help it. That very thought of the two of them gave her such awful anxiety the last week was affecting her so much! "Noelle..." Hearing Susie say her name made her blush a bit. Susie took another puff, blew out more smoke and walked a little closer to her. "I may be a rude bitch, but I don't lie about things like that."
Noelle let out a small gulp and nodded. "Okay. I trust you. I-I am sorry for not trusting you before."
Susie turned around, letting out a low chuckle. "It's fine. I don't seem like the most trustworthy monster here, do I?"
The deer felt awful for bringing that all up. She stepped a little closer behind Susie. I'm so sorry. I am going to hug you now, okay? She heard herself quietly whisper.
".....Hug you..." Susie could hear her whisper something before she felt the other girl wrap her arms around her. Susie felt herself tense up, but she quickly forced herself to relax. She felt Noelle bury her face into the back of her cardigan as she had her arms wrapped around the other girl. She could feel the back of her cardigan get slightly damp and she came to the conclusion that Noelle was crying.
She didn't understand why so she stood there in silence, smoking. She looked up at the dusk sky after a few moments and let out a sigh while Noelle calmed down behind her as she still had her arms wrapped around the other teen. Susie finished her cigarette and dropped it to the ground, stepping on it with her shoe. She sniffled, pulling away and rubbing her eyes with her sleeves. "Sorry..."
Susie turned around, tilting her head. "What for?"
"I... just... feel so crappy that I didn't trust you with Kris...."
"It's fine. It really is." She said, giving Noelle a small smile. "Anyways, Let's go to your place, it's getting cold out."
Noelle slowly smiled, looking up to Susie. "Let's continue to play that Zorro game, okay? I haven't touched it since you came over last." She shot her a small grin.
Susie grinned back. "Hell yeah."
