☆caffeine☆

jimin was a barista at his friend seokjin's coffee shop. he'd finished highschool and didn't really know what to do after that. to keep a roof over his head, seokjin offered him a job and a spare room; he'll always be thankful for him.

one day jimin was cleaning a table when he looked up and saw a tired looking man enter the shop. he looked to the register and didn't see jin so he took it upon hinself to serve the man who was currently walking to the counter.

he was wearing grey jeans with a chain hanging off his belt loops, a black bommer jacket, a black bucket hat covering his bleached hair and black combat boots. his skin was white and not a pore or blemish was in sight, almost like sugar itself. however, his eyes had dark circles resting beneath them and were slightly red from what seemed like lack of sleep, looking almost emotionless. he walked as if he was completely drained; exhausted.

"hey, i'll just have a cup of coffee please." his voice was raspy and monotone, he even sounded tired.

"alright, what size and how strong mr.?" jimin said.

"large, black." the mystery man replied.

"okay, that's £3.99 sir."

the man placed £5 on the counter and walked off to a table near the window. it was 7:39pm and it was starting to drizzle rain outside.

jimin was quick to make the man's coffee and take out his change and reciept. he walked up to the man's table and handed him the cup and slid the reciept onto the table and walked away before the man could look back up at him.

the mysterious man looked up with a confused expression. jimin had given him the coffee, the recipt and... the money?

he stood up once the small line had cleared and jimin was cleaning a table. he tapped his shoulder.

jimin turned around with a smile, as usual.

cute. yoongi thought.

he held out the money to jimin.

"you left this."

"no, i meant to put it there."

yoongi didn't really get it and jimin sensed this, giggling.

"well, you seem like you're having a bad day, so consider it on me. an act of kindness, if you will." jimin smiled again.

yoongi didn't really think that nice people like that exsited nowadays. not that he got out much.

"oh, well thanks... jimin?" yoongi squinted at the name tag.

"yeah, it's jimin, and you are?"

"yoongi, min yoongi."

"well i gotta get back to work but i'll see you around?"

"yeah, sure."

yoongi turned around and sat back in his seat. although he was still tired as all hell and he hadn't slept in two days working on his music, he wouldn't deny that after meeting the mysterious cafè cutie, his mood had been slightly lifted.

he slightly smiled to himself. jimin huh?

~time skip~

it was three weeks later and since then, yoongi had become a regular at the small coffee shop and day after day he seemed just a little happier.

it was 3pm on a saturday afternoon, a few customers in the shop. the bell above the door rang and jimin looked up, smiling to see yoongi walking to his usual table. jimin made his coffee and walked up to him, sitting across from him.

"hey yoongs." he slid the coffee towards him and yoongi slid him the money.

"heya jiminie, you alright?"

"yeah, you? you look a lot less tired."

"yeah i've been alright, it's probably cuz i had like 14 hours of sleep last night, that's why i'm late. i'm usually here at 1pm." yoongi chuckled.

"oh yeah, it's 3pm. also, good, you need to start sleeping more, dummy." jimin giggled and pushed his arm.

"yeah yeah mum."

"oh shut up." jimin laughed.

any normal boss would snap at you and tell you to get back to work however seokjin simply watched the two males laugh and talk with a knowing smile on his face.

"soooo i was thinking..." yoongi trailed off.

"what?" jimin leaned closer.

"we only see eachother for a short bit while you're at work and," yoongi looked down at his hands, "i enjoy your company so-"

"i don't work on weekends, when do you wanna meet?" jimin asked, eagerly.

yoongi looked up with a smile on his face at the fact jimin knew his question before he even asked.

"i'm free tomorrow, saturday." he said almost instantly.

"cool." jimin smiled downwards.

"jimin! i'm going on break, get back to work!" jin said.

"alright! see you tomorrow yoongi." jimin smiled and kissed yoongi's cheek with a blush on his cheeks before rushing back to the register.

yoongi had a smile on his face as he picked up his bag and walked out of the small coffee shop.

~the next day~

yoongi was waiting outside the shop for jimin.

"yoongi!"

he hears a sweet voice yell his name across the street and he looks up to see jimin looking somehow even more beautiful than ever; not in his uniform and the sunlight against his skin. he waited for the light to turn green and then ran across the road, a smile on his face, and yoongi could've sworn he was running in slow-motion.

when he finally snapped out of his trance, jimin was in front of him.

"hey jiminie."

"hey suga~"

they smiled and walked down the street to the nearby park to spend their date. date? yoongi thought that was the right word but jimin wasn't sure. they hadn't confirmed it was a date, however there was a certain feeling in the air between them that made it feel too romantic to be a normal hang out.

was it a date? jimin thought, i think so?

he knows this is a date right? yoongi thought, well i guess i never made it clear.

they had been talking as they walked in the park. it was basically empty since there were two parks in the area and since the other one had a playground for kids, no one really went to this one.

they stopped by the lone swingset and sat down together.

"yoongi?"

"yeah, what is it jiminie?"

"uh, is this y'know..." jimin blushed and trailed off, not looking up at yoongi.

"what? is it a date?" yoongi finished for him, slightly smirking.

"yeah..."

"do you want it to be a date, jiminie?" yoongi put his finger under jimin's chin, making him look into his eyes.

"u-uh, y-yes?" jimin cursed himself for stuttering.

"then yes, it is a date." yoongi ruffled jimin's faded pink hair and looked back into the distance.

jimin's face burned but he had a smile nonetheless.

~two hours later~

yoongi was walking jimin home, he found out that jimin lived with jin in one of the apartments above the cafè. they walked with their fingers intertwined.

jimin unlocked the empty shop's door and yoongi looked at him confused.

"just cmon." jimin smiled and yoongi followed him in.

jimin stood behind the register and yoongi had an idea. he smirked and put on his black bucket hat that was previously in his pocket. he walked up to the counter.

"look familiar?"

it was 7:27pm, exactly 12 minutes before the time it was when they first met, so the lighting was similar.

jimin looked up and immediately smiled.

"i'll just have a cup of coffee please."

yoongi leaned closer.

"what size and how strong, sir?"

jimin did the same.

"large, black."

yoongi touched jimin's hand that lay on the table.

"that will be £3.99 sir."

jimin smiled slightly.

"could i pay you another way?"

yoongi lifted jimin's chin upwards, bringing his face slightly closer.

"that can be arranged, sir."

jimin looked in his eyes, not nervous this time.

yoongi leaned in and the two boys locked lips.

jimin closed his eyes and so did yoongi. they both relaxed as their lips collided and each of them had that feeling. that feeling. you know when something just feels right? it was that feeling.

they kissed for a minute or two but neither of them could tell if it felt an eternity or if it was over way too quickly.

they pulled away and their eyes locked again. jimin's ears were red and he looked away to the side shyly meanwhile yoongi stayed staring at him, a smile on his face.

he brought jimin's face to his lips and kissed his cheek.

"see you on monday jiminie." he smiled.

"bye yoongi." jimin looked down with a shy look and waited til yoongi was gone to lock the door and go up to his apartment. a smile that wouldn't seem to leave, still on his face.
