A little fluff one-shot about me and my girlfriend. We tend to do these, she'll find/create a prompt and then we'll write a short story on it. Through text. XD

They're just little things about like, if this happened, this is how we'd react kinda things. Like, I don't know how to explain this. Oof.

But yeah.

Prompt from my beautiful girlfriend: "for our one year wedding anniversary I got you a puppy."

Let's get started shall we?

I sat at the kitchen table, eyes shut and hands held in front of my face. "Kiera," I laughed. "What are you doing? Why do I have to keep my eyes closed?"

"Because it's a surprise, silly." I could almost hear her rolling her eyes. I giggled and sighed.

"Fine. But just know, if I had known that this was how you were going to give me my present, I would have done this for you too!" I called, shaking my head with a breathy laugh.

I heard Kiera walk into the kitchen and set something on the table. "You can open your eyes now." I heard her say. I took my hands away from my face and opened my eyes.

There was a large package on the table.

I narrowed my eyes at it. "Please tell me you didn't spend too much money on me." I said. She shook her head.

"No money is too much money for you, kitten." I sighed but smiled. "Now open it!" I pulled the ribbon apart and lifted the lid off the box.

I gasped.

"A puppy!?" I cried, lifting the small German Shepherd pup out of the box.

"Yep!" She said. "He's eight weeks old, he was the runt of the litter, and he is totally ready to be here." She laughed and the puppy started licking my face enthusiastically.

"What's his name?" I asked, lifting him away from my face so he couldn't lick me anymore. That is the first thing that we are training out of you. I thought with a small laugh.

"Ace."

"I like that name." I smiled broadly, hugging Ace and giving him a soft kiss on the forehead, laughing when he licked my face again. "Welcome to the family, Ace."
