Our Last Song (Austria x Dying! Reader)

Felt like making a one-shot with feels during class.

Thank you @SNK118CL for telling me since Wednesday (I think) to post this on Wattpad :3

You were sitting on your wheelchair starring out at the window.

You thought about the days before you were diagnosed with Leukemia. You missed the days when your friends played with your (h/c) hair while you tell them to stop, you missed the times when you were so carefree that you didn't care about the world, you missed the times where you and your husband Roderiech would go and watch symphony. You especially missed the days when Roderiech would play the piano for you while you sing a long.

You spent the last days of your life in the piano room next to the magnificent grand piano of your husband.

Everyday Roderiech would bring you here and stay by your side silently. He promised that he wouldn't play a single note until your well.

But you made him promise this.

Flashback

"Roderiech...." You called out your husband.

"Ja..." You stared at the grand piano.

"If I die promise me this." You gripped his hand a bit tighter.

"I promised that you won't die-"

"Just please hear me out." Roderiech followed.

"If I die... Promise me that no matter what keep on playing. I won't rest in peace until I see you from above playing happily on the piano."

"But (y/n)-"

"Promise me that please." You whispered as you started to tear-up.

Roderiech nodded, "I promise."

Flashback End

That was the day that you were ready to let go and that was just a few days ago.

People say that you'll know that your dying when your memories flashback at you even the ones you wouldn't remember. And they were right.

Yesterday those memories came and you knew that your time was coming.

You decided to ask your final request from Roderiech.

"Roderiech...." You smiled sadly as you faced him, "can we play our song again? That song I sang when you met me the first time when I was working at the piano shop."

Roderiech hesitated to answer, but you gave him your eyes that yelled out please.

"Anything for you liebe." He smiled sadly back as he pushed you near the piano.

He sat down on the stool, but hesitated to play a single note.

You reached out your hand on his hand.

"Its okay liebe." You smiled sadly as he started to play.

You started to sing along.

Say something, I'm giving up on you

I'll be the one, if you want me to

Anywhere I would've followed you

Say something, I'm giving up on you

And I am feeling so small

It was over my head

I know nothing at all

And I will stumble and fall

I'm still learning to love

Just starting to crawl

Say something, I'm giving up on you

I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you

Anywhere I would've followed you

Say something, I'm giving up on you

And I will swallow my pride

You're the one that I love

And I'm saying goodbye

Say something, I'm giving up on you

And I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you

And anywhere I would've followed you

Say something, I'm giving up on you

Say something, I'm giving up on you

Say something...

Your voice started to fade slowly at the end.

"As beautiful as ever liebe." Roderiech face you with a smile, but faded as soon as he saw your motionless body.

He rushed towards your body pushing the stool down not bothering to straighten it back up.

He rubbed you cheek affectionately. Your skin was cold, you were pale, your eyes were closed, but one thing that caught him was that there was a smile on your face.

"(Y/n)..." He started to cry as we hugged your lifeless body. He cried out that gained the attention of the other Germanic nations inside the house.

"What happened here?" Ludwig stopped as he saw your lifeless body.

Vash was comforting Lili as she was crying on his uniform.

Elizaveta was covering her mouth and started to cry too.

Gilbert was the first one to approach Roderiech.

"She's in a better place now." The albino said sadly as he place his hand on the Austrian's shoulder.

Years passed since your death.

Roderiech composed thousands of songs, but all of them were all about you. Nothing else but the happy and sad memories of you and him together.

"Ich liebe dich (Y/n)." He would say everyday visiting your grave everyday before he went to work as a piano teacher.

You were always by your grave, you'd always hear it and answer back smiling even though he can't hear you nor see you.

"Ich liebe dich Roderiech."
