Grow Old With You (America x Reader)

"Hello? Mic test, mic test—," You started to whistle the intro of Careless Whisper that made the audience laugh and snicker, "A'ight, it's definitely on."

It was a cool Saturday night somewhere within the midst of Central Park. A clearing in the middle of the forested area was decorated with the colors of white, gold, lilac, and baby pink. Posts held strings of golden lanterns around above the heads of the guests with a gazebo in the middle that had its roof covered with purple and pink wisterias, which came from Alfred's estate in Upstate New York, and vines of ivy wrapped around the mahogany rails. Round tables were either covered with white table clothes that had gold embroidery in the center like a cursive sun. Instead of flower vases, the table pieces were iron skeletons shaped into a tree intertwined with baby's breath from the trunk to its branches while pink roses in their full bloom scattered among the branches of the little white flowers.

Visitors were wearing their best attire, most were in pastel while some took the dress code into their own hands. Some attendees wore gray just to give a lighter feel while some wore darker colors, but nothing passionate. The best man with the groomsmen were dressed in their own unique cream-colored tuxes and matching ties, except for Matthew who matched with Alfred's tie. The bridesmaids wore soft peach-colored dresses, with the maid-of-honor having the exception of a peach colored suit.

"Before I begin, I just wanted to thank Francis for helping me out with my dress." You looked at Francis who raised his glass of wine to you while the audience rippled in applause. "I thought that I couldn't keep up with you around the world to find a dress or the designer with the right vision, but I am here in front of you all today so that I can say this proudly—"

You cleared your throat. You could hear Alfred trying to suppress his laughter that made you choke out some laughter. You snorted aloud that gave a light laugh as a feedback from the guests.

"Oh my god, Alfred you dork!" Your giggles started to die down as Alfred stood right next to you to calm down with his dying chuckles.

"Okay, okay." You sighed in relief and looked at Alfred before saying this away from the microphone. "You are so dead tonight, Mr. Jones."

"Back right at'cha, Mrs. Jones." He finger guns you before you smacked hims playfully in the face so you can say what you were supposed to say to the audience.

"I have survived Francis' manhunt for the perfect designer of my wedding dress tonight." Everyone laughed and cheered.

"It was me all along!" Francis shouted from the audience that made everyone laugh even harder and cheer louder with a few whistles and howls.

Francis stood up and bowed as the laughter and applause continued. Arthur and Matthew had to pull the Frenchman back to his seat so everyone could stop and listen to you. It amused you how this day was perfect. No drama, no worries, no bad luck, and definitely no bad friends around.

Your dress had been custom-made by Francis, who added your idea of a detachable skirt for you to change quickly after the reception. It was a shorter skirt that was short upfront with a waterfall trail leading to your back that goes way below your knees, dip dyed in blue just to follow a tradition of something blue; something borrowed was the shoes you were wearing, a pair of white Christian Louboutin shoes from Emma; something old was the tiny, silver locket around your neck, an "heirloom" that Alfred gave you a year before you both got engaged; and something new was the pair of banana earring you were wearing at the moment. Alfred daringly joked you to wear the earrings he gave you a couple of days ago because it reminded him on how you both first met, and boy was that man astounded when he saw you at the altar with those things on. He looked at you as if he was falling for you all over again, and he does that quite often with you.

Alfred wore this beautiful navy blue suit that had hand painted flowers that came under his lapel, carefully lined with gold threads. His tie was baby blue with an embroidered rose on top just like Matthew's, they wanted to match since this was a special bond between friends. It amazed Alfred and Matthew that Arthur had finished the ties within two days, but what amazed them more was that Arthur had managed to hand paint everything on Alfred's suit a week before the wedding. No wonder Arthur scolded him for not getting a suit a month before.

"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for coming to our wedding." Alfred grinned widely and gave you your ukulele. "It is an honor for all of you to be hearing my wife—,"

People whistled and teased that made him chuckle, "—sing with me. And I know this sounds weird to all of you, but I do love her. I love her so much that I am willing to be by her side for the rest of ourselves."

You looked at Alfred in awe. You couldn't stop smiling at him to the point he had to kiss you to snap you out of it. It took you by surprise, your instincts kicked in and slapped his ass. Everyone laughed as Alfred pouted at you. You stuck your stuck out before giving him one last peck.

"Before we stall y'all with more of our innuendos, here's the song that started our bond." You recalled the moment you saw him in front of you in the subway. "This is Grow Old With You by Adam Sandler."

Everyone pipped down as Alfred started on the first verse. You started to strum your ukulele along to his guitar.

I wanna make you smile whenever you're sad

Carry you around when your arthritis is bad

All I wanna do is grow old with you

You started to vocalize with him at this point as the air around started to lighten up. The venue suddenly felt like they were being washed over with some heavenly light, despite the hour being nine in the evening.

I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches

Build you a fire if the furnace breaks

Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you

You started to sing the chorus alone while looking into those bright blue eyes you fell for long ago. It made you want to hug him and keep him in a blanket forever, just to tell him that everything is okay and that everything will be okay. It hurts you to see those eyes in pain and in sorrow.

I'll miss you

Kiss you

Give you my coat when you are cold

Need you

Feed you

I'll even let you hold the remote control

"You sure 'bout that?" You shoved him playfully at his remark.

You shook your head and began plucking your strings alone as he picked up from where you started. A small intermission for the both of you just to stare a little longer into each others' eyes. The guests started to clap to the beat as you nuzzled your nose against Alfred's.

So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink

Put you to bed if you've had too much to drink

You paused for a moment as he stared at you. He was breathless, and he couldn't believe that he was marrying the only woman he truly loves after all of these years. It filled his heart with joy that he finally had someone to love, trust, protect, and someone to call his heroine.

I am now the man who'll grow old with you

He finished the song as you just melted on the spot. You still couldn't believe that you were marrying such a wonderful person. You couldn't believe that you were going to grow old with him. Someone who wouldn't react in a strange way when you show yourself to him, either ugly parts or the beautiful ones. You could shed your entire being to this man and he wouldn't give a fuck about those flaws. You were precious to him and he was precious to you. You both had trust in each other.

You both shared a kiss as everyone cheered. The wind blew the wisterias into the gazebo making the moment look more magical than it was before.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

You giggled and squealed as Alfred spun you around the marble floors of the estate you were both going to live in. The moonlight was your spotlight as the wisterias outside twirled along with the wind. Your wedding was over more than hour ago, but you both still felt like playing and dancing like kids. Your arms around his neck with his hands on your waist.

Alfred dipped you down and gave you a peck against your lips before bringing you back up. You laughed and glared at him playfully. He connected both of your foreheads as he started to slow dance with you in the dark. Both of your eyes closed, swaying to the beating of your hearts and breath. You both had no care for the world right now, all that matters was Alfred and these times you both were going to spend until you die.

"I love you so much, you know that?" Alfred whispered.

"Did you know that I love you more?" You chuckled and cupped his face.

You fluttered your eyes open, looking at his peaceful expression. You rubbed your thumb against his cheek and kissed his nose. You kissed his other cheek, sighing with a smile. You then kissed his lips. He started to slide down to his knees, slowly as he wrapped his arms around your waist. You caressed his head and then slowly lifted it to face yours.

Alfred opened his eyes. His eyes shone against the moonlight, which made them mirror the clear night sky outside. You started to melt at the softness of his expression, his adoration and love for you. How you meant more than the world out there. It made him feel like he was walking on the moon all over again, floating on zero gravity as he took his first steps to a new discovery in life. He has finally discovered the secret to a happy life, and it was with you. He could just picture everything right here and right now. This marriage was just the start of a new beginning, a seed that had just been planted into new soil. Everything doesn't start out beautifully and no relationship was perfect, there are only perfect moments.

You kissed his forehead. Alfred closed his eyes again and listed to your heart beat. You wrapped him in an embrace as the wind outside whistled while the wisteria rustled. This was a perfect moment, tonight was a perfect moment. But you both knew that perfect moments needed to end at some point.

"You can always remarry when I die." You whispered sadly.

"You're the only woman I truly love." Alfred murmured. "I'm not going to marry anyone, nobody can replace the woman I have in my arms."

"There'll be one day, Alfred." You knelt down to his level and took his glasses off to wipe his tears. "One day that I'll be gone from your life forever."

Alfred opened his eyes and looked straight into yourself. It pained him knowing that you knew the outcomes of this relationship. You knew that it pained him as well. You both had lots of time and at the same time you both lacked it. This was a race to the end and you weren't going to back down from it. Your love for him was fierce like fire, not cool like a breeze. You were going to make the most out of your lives until your legs won't work like they used to.

"Look on the bright side though." He wiped some snot from his nose as you started to giggle. "I can finally say it to you.

"Say what?" He lifted an eyebrow in curiosity.

"Tomorrow morning, I can finally say 'Good morning America.'" You grinned widely as you put his glasses back on him.

Alfred started to laugh. His sorrowful face broke into a grin that infected you with happiness as well.

"And you know what else I can say?" You smirked as you helped him up.

"What else?" Alfred crossed his arms and smiled smugly.

"That this—," You went around behind him and smacked his ass with your backhand. "This is definitely America's ass."

"You are so going to get it tonight!" You ran away in fits of giggles as he chased you around the house. "Get back here, you rascal!"

"Okay boomer!" Alfred laughed hysterically at your remark.

You both had the biggest smiles on your faces. He chased you going upstairs, and you slid your way down on the railings. You had this urge to hide, but you couldn't with all of this laughter that came out from your mouth. You continued to run until you reached the bedroom you both were to share.

"SHIT!" You laughed loudly as he caught you from behind and lifts you up.

Alfred twirls you around before falling on to the bed backwards. You rolled to the side and turned to him. You both held hands and breathed, enjoying the silence. Alfred rolled to your side and hovered above you with all fours. You both shared a long kiss.

No matter how long or short your time was with him, you were never going to leave his side. And Alfred? Lets say that time was never merciful to him, but he still believes that one day it will be. He knows it. He hopes for it.

He hopes that time will be merciful to you.

It's been a while since I wrote some feels, man I miss it!

Supposedly this shot was going to end at the Good morning America part, but my mind was telling me to make it longer because I wanted to add the America's ass part. It was fun writing this and here I realized that I have lost my touch, and that my past self is probably better than me. Like, Jesus Christ, I wrote better lemons when I was 16 and wrote an orgy shot at a younger age.

Wait, what?

Anyways, I apologize if the format of the lyrics is off because there's this thing that was fucking up my shit while I typed. And that's probably it besides the shitty grammar and redundancies within this entire shot.

Happy New Year and Auf Wiedersehen for now!
