Mr. King Dice x Reader - Christmas at The Casino (1376)
A/N: Yes, I am aware that it's Valentine's day weekend but I heard "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and got into the Christmas spirit. Mr. King Dice x Reader. Yes, I put in an OC, I knew the type of scene I wanted to write and none of the other characters could play that role. Enjoy.

Reader POV
You sat boredly on one of the bar stools, your head was laid down on your arms as you watched the entrance into the casino. "Why isn't anyone showing up? Saturdays are usually busy nights." You thought. You heard footsteps and sat up, stretching your arms as you turned towards them. It was the Casino's manager, Mr. King Dice, his arms pulled behind his back as he walked towards the majority of that nights workers, the ones that were further off made their way closer to the area near the bar. You didn't have to move as you had picked a spot near the edge of the group where a handful of the other employees had been having some small talk, the ones in front of the bar - on stools like you - pivoted to look at the manager. He stopped at one of the nearby tables, moving his hands from behind his back to the table he was next to, leaning onto them.
"Do any of you have any idea why there are so few customers here?" He asked, his eyes scanning the group. No one said anything, most looked down. One of the quieter people, another waitress that was usually quiet looked up, raising her hand in an awkward fashion.
"Yes, Faustina?" He said looking at the girl, she swallowed as everyone turned to look at her.
"I... I believe that it's Christmas Eve... Sir...I... I think everyone, the patrons, are spending time... time with their families." She answered, playing with her hands during most of it. King dice sighed.
"Well, I suppose it is the season..." He drifted off as if in thought. "Since no one will probably come in, you all can leave, or go and sleep, or go see your families if you still have 'em. You all can have the night off." He said waving a hand dismissively at us all as he stood up straighter and walked away. Once he was out of the mainroom we all looked at each other.
"Do any of you 'ave any family outside of the casino?" You heard a gruff voice ask. No one moved or said anything, a few people looked towards each other. "'Aight, good night, Merry Christmas." The man said, you heard footsteps get quieter as he supposedly walked off. Slowly the group dispersed, leaving you and the girl that had spoken up earlier. You moved towards her.
"Faustina, right?" You asked her as you sat next to her.
"Yeah, and you're Y/N if I am not mistaken." The girl gave you a small smile. "You going to stay down here, too?" She asked.
"Yeah, if you stay, at least, I don't have anyone to be with but I don't want to be alone, you know?" Faustina hums in agreement as she tucks a pale lock of hair behind her ear.
"It's my first Christmas without family, I usually went up to visit my brother... he passed earlier this year."
"Me and my family were never really close, I left as soon as I got the chance, Christmas was never really a thing for me." You shrug.
"Good for you, for getting away, I mean, not the bad family." Faustina blushes.
"Thank you." You say in attempted comfort. The two of you sat in comfortable silence for the next few minutes, just enjoying the company.
"Do you think he ever got to celebrate Christmas?" Faustina blurted out, you arched an eyebrow.
"Who are you referring to?" You ask.
"King Dice, he didn't even realize it was coming around, much less that is was until I pointed it out, the others realized it once I said it but he just sounded confused and let us off. Do you think he ever got to celebrate it?" You shrug, she looks down at her hands again. You sat in silence with her again for a while until she perked up, unexplicibly she sat up straight and turned to one of the doorways. She tapped your arm gently and looked at the doorway again.
"I.. I hate to ask this of you since this is our first real conversation and all... but could you ask Mr. King Dice something for me?" She asked.
"Sure, what were you wondering?" You ask.
"Why he didn't think of keeping track of holidays when the casino wouldn't be busy, it would be easier to bring in food, alcohol, and doing general maintenance then so we aren't all half-awake from staying up... similar things as well." Faustina fumbled with her hands again as her burst of confidence faded. "I... I don't like talking to him one-on-one... it's easier for me to be brave in a group... you seem more confident, and we were talking... I just thought..." She drifted off. You sigh, she was giving you company and she just wanted you to ask your boss a question for her, it really was nothing, how could you refuse.
"Yeah, yeah, I'll be back in a minute, don't leave just yet," You stand up and she smiles at you, mouthing a thank you as you hear footsteps. You look at one of the exits and see Mr. King Dice walking inside the main casino room. You look at her again arching an eyebrow in a "You heard him coming so you asked?" type of motion. She nodded and mouthed "thank you," while motioning towards your boss. You sigh. She set you up, but you couldn't be mad, you worked at a casino, people got set up to gamble away their savings, you got set up to ask a question for a shy person. Why would you complain.
You walked over to where your boss had just come in. He looked around, his expression somehow both stern and relaxed as he saw it was just the two of you there.
"Mr. King Dice?" You say, pulling him from his thoughts.
"Yes, Y/N, what is it?" He asked noticing that you were standing next to him. You open your mouth to begin when you hear a sharp whistle, you turned towards the source. Faustina. Of course. She was pointing above the two of you. You looked up and felt a lump rise in your throat. She was pointing at mistletoe. Blood rushes to your cheeks as you look at King Dice, his eyebrows were furrowed at the piece of plant.
"Why is that up there?" He asked. Your eyes widened.
"That... that's mistletoe. It's a Christmas thing. Someone probably put it up so the casino was at least partially festive... or something..." You drifted off as you tried to think of who could've put it up.
"What is it for?" He asked, still looking at it as it dangled precariously from an almost invisible string.
"You don't know about mistletoe?" You blurt out. He looked at you.
"Christmas was never a priority for me, isn't there a thing with a tree and gifts..." He waves his hand absentmindedly.
"Well... if two people get caught under mistletoe they're... they're..." You stumble and clear your throat. "They are supposed to kiss." You blurt out. You blush and look down as you step away. "Not everyone does it, though, just some people as a tradition-" You stop and King Dice lifts your chin with his fingertips. He steps closer. You blush.
"Would you like to continue the tradition?" He asks you. You blush harder. "It's perfectly fine if you-"
"Yes." You blurt. He smiles and leans down. His lips were softer than you would've expected. He was gentle. It lasted maybe ten seconds at the most but it was both an eternity and over in a flash. He was there and there then gone. Your eyes opened, although you didn't even know when you closed them and saw him smirking. He leaned nearby your ear.
"If you ever want another, you only need to ask, you don't need to get others involved." He leaned back and patted your cheek before leaving. You touched your lips in disbelief. Your heart still thrumming against your chest as you looked back where Faustina was sitting to see her smiling and giving a thumbs-up towards you.
You would have words with her later.
