"Hey.. your dance moves aren't too bad! Are you sure this is your first time at a school dance?"

You smile sheepishly and nod, "There are a lot of people here. Are school dances normally this crowded?" He smiles, pointing to his ear. You repeat what you said in his ear as he nods in response.

"Yeah! My friends and I have been to every school dance so far. They're pretty fun. The best part?"

"Food." You both say in unison. "Speaking of food, want to go take a look at the options?" He gestures to the food area as you immediately nod.

Since you've been home schooled for years, you've never been able to experience a school dance.. until now. To you, it seems like a typical party you see in movies.. without the alcohol of course.

You take a big bite of your searing, cheesy pizza. Smiling in delight you say, "Food is the best."

"I agree 100%! How many slices do you think I can eat?" He grins, taking the last bite. "I think you can only eat 5 slices. I, on the other hand-"

"Can only eat 2. Me? I think you meant 5 pizza boxes. If so, you're correct." You stuff another slice of deliciousness into your mouth.

"Oh really? Sureeee..." His eyes dart elsewhere. "I'll be back. Mind getting me a drink while I'm gone?"

"Sure. Is fruit punch okay with you?" You ask as he nods, heading towards a beaming girl. You feel a familiar pain inside, turning away from the two. "Of course.. he's dancing with her. Again."

You stare sadly at the red liquid, spinning the red solo cup. Every time there's an opportunity to slow dance, he goes to her. Her laugh causes you to look up, seeing her put her head on his shoulder. You watch the scene painfully, slowly tearing your eyes away. Stuffing yet another slice of pizza into your mouth, you mutter "I hear my heart shattering.."

'Liking him sucks..'

"Uhh.. I mean, you don't have to.." (C/N) murmurs, rubbing his neck.

You stare at him in surprise, mumbling a "Sure." This is the best part of the dance; your crush asking you to dance with him. He chuckles, snapping his fingers in front of your face. "Earth to (Y/N)..! Pretty sure we've been standing here for an hour. You do know that this is the last slow dance, right? Am I THAT hot~?"

"Yes-... I MEAN NO!"

He smirks, holding out a hand. You take it, following him to the dance area where there are other dancers already in position. You shyly smile at him and decide to keep a safe distance. "Don't by shy~" (C/N) pulls you closer. "Sorry for leaving you a few times. That girl was so annoying; she really wanted to dance with me. I didn't want to, but since she was so persistent I just went with it." He pauses for a second or two. "Anyways, I would rather dance with my crush."

Your eyebrows furrow a bit, but you quickly force a smile. "Is that so? I see.."

The song ends. He bows down, "Thank you for dancing with me. Meet me outside the school, I'll be waiting."

"I don't have any other choice, do I?" You raise an eyebrow at his commanding tone as he smiles sheepishly.

"Well.. I'm going to wait all night if I have to. You don't want to leave me all alone in the night, right?" His eyes narrow, glaring at you playfully.

"We'll see," you respond, trying your best to not crack a smile.

The last group of teenagers leave the dance. You make your way outside, looking around to see no one in sight. Turning a corner, you jump and smack the person's face. Realizing who it is, you stifle your laugh. "S-Sorry! You startled me!"

"Uh huh.. I'm sure you're sorry." He crosses his arms across his chest, rolling his eyes. You give a short laugh, "So.. why did you want to meet out here?"

"Well.." He clears his throat, gazing into your eyes. "(Y/N), we've been friends for a few years now. I guess you never figured it out but.." He takes your hand. "I like you and I would like for us to be more than close friends."

"Mega close frie-"

"Don't finish that sentence." He cuts you off and leans in to give you a quick kiss. You blink a few times, slowly touching your lips. Still in a daze, (C/N) ends up pulling you to his car. "You're adorable, you know that?"

"Uh huh.." You nod absently.

You walk up the steps, turning around to wave goodbye one last time. Your hand drops, feeling a pair of warm, soft lips on your own. "Good night, (Y/N)."

"EEEEEEEEE!!" You scream as soon as you reach your bedroom. You fall onto your bed, burying your heated face into your pillow. "I think I'm going to die.. because he just kissed me again~!"

You roll onto your back and squeeze your pillow, grinning. "I can't stop smiling.. my cheeks are hurting.."

*ding*

(C/N): I heard you screaming from all the way out here lol. Just got in my car

"Did he really..? Stupid me!" You text a quick reply, hoping he'll believe you.

You: Oh yeah, I'm fangirling over this guy right now
(C/N): Don't lie. You're thinking about the kiss aren't you (-;
You: No :P
(C/N): Not only am I hot, but I'm also a good kisser!
You: Shut up!
(C/N): Make me *wink wink* If you know what I mean..
You: Eyb, uoy t'nera toh.
(C/N): Well guess what? Uoy t'nera a doog rail
