"I think... you aren't such a bad person after all." My words made her look straight at me with a surprised expression.

"What?" Ymir's voice hints the sound of disbelief.

"It's just what I said. Who cares if you've done those selfish acts. We see you as a good person either way." I looked away from her and instead gazed at the wide horizon in front of us.

"You really don't get it do you..?" Her eyes glared at me.

"I don't exactly know what do you mean by that, but nope."

"I don't understand you at all..." She quietly stated.

"Me? I thought I'm easy to read as what the others said." I looked back at her.

"Augh, forget what I said. Let's just figure out on how do we get back inside the wall." Ymir began to look around us.

Right now, both she and I are stranded outside of Wall Rose after being separated from our group during our mission. We're currently hiding ourselves from the titans above the large tree branch, though it won't be long until they spot and go after us. And I don't think we will make it back to the wall with our gas tanks half empty.

"Maybe we should stay here for the night and plan our way to get back tomorrow. As much as we can take this opportunity to head back because of the titans being inactive during night time, I don't think we can see in the dark without a light source." I suggested.

"That's a pretty valid option in our current situation." She responded.

"Aight, guess that settles it. Time for me to get comfy on this branch." I said as I lay down and relaxed.

"So, are you seriously going to just lay down like that?" She looks at me with her hand by her waist.

"What? Can't I at least take a break from killing large, brainless, naked people for once?" I narrowed my eyes.

"Whatever, I don't care whether you fall from there and get eaten by them." Ymir rolls her eyes and walks the opposite direction from me.

I watch her as she jumps at another tree branch and sat down, even with me being a bit far from her, I can totally hear her sighing. Both me and her may not talk very often nowadays, but once I observe a person's expression and actions carefully, I can tell that something's up with them.

But knowing her, she will only deny it and perhaps tell me I'm being delusional. I'll attempt to pry into her again the next day, right now, I need to get some rest.

Laying down on the branch, I looked up and watched the twilight until it turns night time. Since I haven't eaten anything when we left for the mission, I'm beginning to feel hungry. But since we don't have any food with us, I might as well just have to endure the hunger until we get back inside the wall.

As my eyes closed, my conciousness slowly disappears and I fell into slumber. What I wasn't aware of, is that she would take this moment as her chance to head somewhere else.

The next day, I woke up and sat up, yawning in the process. Once I've managed to get most of my sleepiness to fade, that's when I realized that, Ymir was no where to be seen. This caused me to panic, wondering where could she have gone to.

"Ymir?! Ymir! Where are you?!" I yelled.

Could it be, that she really left me behind? Doesn't matter, I need to find her and make sure she's all right.

"Damn it." I frowned.

I immediately grabbed my mobility gear and equipped it before making my way to the other side of the forest. Along the way, I happen to encounter some titans and killed them before continuing forward. For about an hour had passed, I was still inside the forest and almost about to reach the other side. I was so focused onto finding Ymir and getting out of the place that I completely forgot to check how much gas do I have left.

Unfortunately, the moment that I realized that, I've already ran out of gas. Ending up not being able to use my gear anymore, one of the hooks is still attacked to a tree and I began to swing towards a titan who happen to be there. Just as my luck keeps getting better, sarcasm there.

My eyes had widen and I prepared myself to slash at it with my blade, though that didn't happen. Instead, someone appears from the side and scooped me away from the titan.

"Ymir?! Where the heck were you?!" I angrily questioned.

"Oh, did I ruined your little fun over there?" She gives me a small smirk.

"I was looking all over for you! You suddenly went and disappeared when I woke up!" I responded.

"I just went to go on patrol." What an obviously lie that is, Ymir.

"Would you think I'd believe you?" I crossed my arms and gave her a deadpan look.

"No, but the reason why I was gone doesn't matter anymore since I'm right in front of you now." She lands on a tree and placed me down.

"Still, you had me worried there. I was scared on what might happen to you. You really should stop doing those kinds of things!" I told her.

When I looked at her face, she seemed surprised. This made me confused and wonder why is she looking at that, later on, she quickly turns her back on me.

"Can you stop saying things towards me?!" She stated, I noticed that she's flustered for some reason.

"What? But I didn't said anything wrong." I replied.

"Whatever, let's just get out of here." She sighs.

Why is she frustrated? What the hell did I do to her?

"Oh yeah.. Ymir?" I called for her.

"Huh?" She looks back at me.

"I may have used up all of the gas of my gear..." I sheepishly laughed.

"You've got to be kidding me." She pinches the bridge of her nose.

In the end, I have to latch onto her as she heads our way outside the forest. Though judging by how her movement is, she's having a difficult time because of me. I can't believe I have to be a burden for us to survive, this is just hurting my pride but we have no other choice.

What I didn't notice was that Ymir has been flustered this whole time. About a couple minutes past, we've finally reached the other side of the large forest, with Ymir having little to no gas left.

"Do you think the Survey Corps are looking for us?" I asked her.

"Don't know, hopefully they are." She said as she unequips her mobility gear. "Do you have a flare gun and ammo with you?" She looks at me.

"I have, about three ammos." I replied.

"That's more than enough, we'll use them to signal for anyone who sees it." She said.

Once again the two of us are stuck in a tree, waiting for our comrades to rescue us. By looking at the sky, I can tell that it's already almost noon, and I haven't eaten nor drank anything since yesterday.

"Here, drink this." Ymir tosses me her water container.

"Thanks, I really needed this." I open the cap and began to drink the water.

"Save some for me of course, you can't take it all to yourself just because I handed it to you." She said.

"Yeah, I know." I chuckled and gave back the container to her.

"So Y/N.." She spoke, and I looked at her. "What do you see within me?"

"What do you mean?" I showed a confused expression.

"I meant what do you see in me, as a person?" She stares at me with her serious eyes.

I don't know what's been bothering her, but I guess I'll give her an honest answer to her question.

"You're a kind person, that's what I see in you. Even though you act like a horrible person towards the others, I think that's just something to cover up the real you. Isn't that right?" I said, clearly she didn't expect me to say this.

"No matter what you do, I would always admire you. Even Christa admires you as a person, the both of us do. I don't know what's been bothering you or what you're hiding from us, but, I want you to know that I'll still see you as the person you are." I smiled.

Ymir keeps on staring at me for a few more seconds until she suddenly starts to laugh, which caught me off guard.

"Hey, what's so funny about what I said?" I asked.

"Nothing, nothing. It's just, I didn't expect you to say those things. It's so not you." She snickers.

"I was being serious there and this is how you react?! I take it back, you're so mean!" I pouted.

And the both of us just continue to talk and share our laughs until we've spotted the Survey Corps searching for us and got rescued.

I know what you're hiding since then, Ymir. But, despite all of that..

I still love you.
