Wolf Night

Okay, so since the Mythology Virus thing, each full moon Ren turns into a werewolf. Due to the fact that they only attack humans, Wither turns into a wolf these nights to keep him company, and make sure he doesn't hurt the Hermits.

Btw, this is one of my favourite songs. I was listening and I thought; this would be an amazing AU.

Wither POV

I had forgotten what time of the month it was until Ren texted me saying you're coming, right?

Oh yeah. Full moon.

Wolf night.

It was probably wrong to get excited about turning into a werewolf, and probably wrong to enjoy that brief time, but ever since I'd started hanging out with him as a wolf we'd started looking foreword to these fun nights.

Turning to Ninja, who I'd been working on a project with, I said. "Hey, I gotta go to Hermitcraft."

She looked up at the sky. "Full moon?"

I nodded.

"Have fun. And I'll see ya later." She put the concrete in a chest and watched as I tapped the band on my wrist to bring me to Hermitcraft.

I popped up in the middle of the shopping district, literally right on top of Python. He let out a startled yelp as I fell on him from 10 blocks up.

"Sorry." I apologized, getting off of the startled Hermit. He stood up and dusted himself off.

"It's fine." He assured me. "You and X really need to figure out how to fix those things. We don't want another poultry incident."

We both laughed. Last time I came here using the wristbands, I spawned about 45 blocks above the ocean and crashed into Poultry Man. I hadn't been able to unmask him, but it was the closest anybody has gotten.

"Well, see you around!" We both went our separate ways. I turned into a flamingo (hey, I was rushed.) and took off for Ren's base.

I passed Grian on the way, who looked incredulously at me. I waved my wing at him like 'sup and kept going, leaving him to wonder if he was going crazy or not.

It only took about five minutes to get there, via FlamingoAirlines, but I couldn't be worried. The sun was already setting.

Landing gracefully beside the entrance, I carefully turned into a wolf and waited.

(And despite what False, who was watching the inconspicuous flamingo will tell you, I did not trip and fall head over tail while landing.)

Eventually, Renwolf padded up and sat beside me.

"So, what are we gonna do?" I asked. "All the other Hermits are inside. The whole server is ours tonight!"

Ren grinned, a wicked grin that screamed he was up to no good. (Which was kind of disturbing on a wolf's face.)

"The way I see it, we can do anything." He took off for the forest, with me chasing him.

Running through the Fantasy district, in the middle of the night, when you can't see the ground in front of you. Smart idea, I know.

So it came as no surprise to me when Ren stopped abruptly in front of me. He'd almost run over the edge into Tango's cavern.

"Didn't think this through, did you?" I sat down and looked over the edge.

Ren shuffled his paws awkwardly. "Not really, no."

I sighed. "The whole point of doing this is so everybody's safe. Not just the others, but you too."

"I know, I know." He sat down too. "Has anybody found out anything new recently?"

"Ability wise?"

Ren nodded.

Over the past few weeks, some of the Hermits who'd been affected by the virus had discovered that they still had powers from when they changed into monsters. Grian had been the first, after his elytra broke and he fell. The wings that he'd had during the virus appeared and he carried himself to safety.

I thought for a second. "Impulse, yesterday. He was in the Nether and a ghast snuck up on him. Luckily he's still fire proof."

Ren winced. "Ouch. Anybody else?"

"Iskall." I replied. "Poultry Man tried to egg him, and it surprised Iskall. He accidentally shot a fireball at Poultry Man and the rest is history."

The wolf laughed a bit. "Wish I'd seen that."

I looked up at the sky, where the moon still shone brightly. "We've still got time to kill. What should we do?"

Ren glanced in the direction of the shopping district. "Race?"

"Race." I agreed, and we left for the shopping centre.

Basically, these races were a contest to see who could run through the whole shopping district first. Winner was whoever got the fastest time.

I stood beside Ren at the Stock exchange. He looked at me, excitement brewing in his eyes. "Ready?"

"Go!" We sprang away from the building and entered the winding streets. Turning sharp corners around stalls, narrowly avoiding a collision with the pickle shop, I thought I'd lost Ren.

Until he jumped off the roof of Cherry and took the lead.

"Cheater!" I yelled, trying to catch up.

He won, sitting with a smug expression in front of Big Logs. I panted and walked up to him.

"It's not cheating if the rules don't say no running on top of buildings." He smirked.

"We agreed to staying on the road!" I protested, but Ren didn't listen. The moon was setting, and a look of relief spread on his face as he turned back to a human.

"That's better." He sighed. I changed back too. "I'm gonna go."

"See ya later!" I called after him.

Well, might as well poke around a bit, see if anything new is going on.

I walked around the shopping district for a bit, taking my time. Until I saw the cat.

Passing Tek to the Skies, I stopped. A small, grey tabby cat was entering with a few diamonds in its mouth.

What the?

I hid behind a bush and waited for the cat to come out.

But what did come out I wasn't expecting.

A Hermit, with the same eyes as the cat. A Hermit, who hadn't told anyone he had abilities, but used them as though they'd been around for months.

The person leaving the shop was Xisumavoid.
