The Suit
This came up in my headcannons, and your reactions were hilarious. So let me tell you a tale, of how the Ren Diggity Dog, unwillingly became a furry.
Author Note: This takes place shortly after the Jangler incident.
Ren POV
I walked back to the stock exchange to meet Doc. We were due to have a meeting.
Walking up the stairs, I noticed something in front of the door. A brown, cardboard box with a note on top that said for Ren.
I grabbed the box and brought it to the office with me. I sat down in Doc's desk, waiting. He was late.
Curiousity took over, and I opened the box.
Inside, was something brown and soft. Placed on top was a letter.
Scooby
Great job unmasking me. Here's a small token of my genuine appreciation, and a reward for your hard work.
#Jangled
I groaned. The Jangler. Suddenly I didn't want to know what it was. What could he do this time? Scar had already been exposed. He wouldn't benefit from anything like this anymore.
Right?
I took the brown thing out and stared at it in disbelief. A brown, dog, furry suit.
Why Scar why?
I started debating what to do with it. Shove it in the box and return it? Burn and bury it? Feed it to Jellie somehow?
"Ren? Are you here?" I jumped, hearing Doc's voice coming from the lobby. He couldn't find the suit!
I shoved it back in the box and threw it out the window, just as Doc came into the office.
"What was that?" He asked.
"Nothing." I panicked. "Maybe it was just a bird."
He shrugged and sat down in his seat. "By the way, did you see that box that was in the front earlier? It had your name on it."
"Nope, nothing at all."
Doc peered curiously at me. "Are you okay Ren? You seem nervous." He asked.
"Yep, never better." I hoped I wasn't as red as I felt.
My friend sighed. "Fine, if you insist."
We went on with the meeting, but I was preoccupied the whole time. What could I do about that suit?
Eventually Doc just asked me straight up. "Ren, something's wrong. What is it? Is it something to do with the box?"
I sighed and confessed. "The box was from the Jangler."
Doc just shrugged. "So? What's the worst thing that could be in there, cookies?"
"No, not cookies." I led him outside. "Don't look inside."
"Wasn't planning on it, but now I kind of want to." Doc muttered as we got to the box. It was a bit battered from the fall out the window, but other than that it seemed fine.
I grabbed the note from inside and let Doc read it.
"Okay." He crumpled the paper into a ball. "So what are you going to do with it?"
"I was thinking of burning it." I admitted.
Doc's eyes widened. "Why? Is it that bad?"
"Yep."
I reached for the box, but Doc grabbed it first.
"Hey!" I protested. "Give it back!"
Doc grinned. "Not until I see what's inside." He opened the box.
My friend stared at the giant face peering out at him.
He turned to me, a smirk on his face. "Well, the rumours are true."
I grabbed a firework and flew away.
"Ren, come back!" Doc chased after me.
We spent a while up there, laughing and flying in the sky. Unaware that somebody was below us.
"You guys look like you're having fun." Tango called up to us. I stopped, praying that he didn't notice the suit.
The daemon's eyes wandered to the box, laying sideways on the ground. He walked over and read the label on the outside.
"Tango, don't open it!" I dove down, trying to get to the box.
Tango opened it. A huge grin spread across his face.
"Well then." He looked up at me grinning. "I never knew Ren." After seeing the expression on my face, he turned and ran.
"TANGO!" I shot after him as Doc trailed behind me, both of them laughing.
