Infinity AU Part 2

Hey, I found a song for the AU! Achievement!  Damn I love this song.

Xisuma POV

I opened the entrance into the Hub and led the two Hermits inside. We walked through the tunnel in silence for a bit.

"So where are we going?" Impulse asked.

"This is the way to get to the central server, also called the Hub." I answered. "Oreo, the Author, lives there. The Hub also leads into a bunch of other servers."

The tunnel opened up and we emerged into 0r3ohuB. The Hermits let out a collective gasp at the amazing place.

One thing concerned me though. I didn't see anybody. Normally, the place had lots of people from different servers on it, talking, laughing, having a good time.

But nobody was here.

I led the others to the castle, where Asher was waiting. His tail flicked nervously. "You're here."

"Yeah. What's going on?" I asked.

Asher led us inside. "Oreo thinks there might be a way to fix this." he explained.

My heart lept.

"We can get them back?" Scar breathed. "For real?"

The demibeast shrugged. "Maybe. Oreo wants to talk about that."

He stopped in front of the door that I knew led to Oreo's office, and pulled out the key.

"By the way." he added. "Oreo's been through 5 coffees in the past hour, so don't piss him off or anything." Asher opened the door.

Oreo sat in the desk, flipping through books rapidly, a cup of coffee in hand. He looked up when we came in. "You made it."

He hastily shoved the books to one side on the table, and took a sip of coffee.

I took a quick look at the books. "Why are you reading Marvel Comics?" I asked.

Asher coughed behind me. "They're all comics that feature Thanos. Oreo's been checking to find as many ways possible to kill him, and how to use the stones to bring the others back."

"And I'm getting some ideas." Oreo added.

I motioned towards some empty seats, and the Hermits sat down.

"What are we going to do?" Impulse asked.

Oreo sipped his coffee. "Well, kill Thanos, and find a way to bring the fallen back to life. I keep telling Asher that we need to get Deadpool-"

"No we don't." Asher interrupted. "We don't want this story to be rated R."

"But katannas!" Oreo protested. "And breaking the fourth wall."

"No." Asher glared at Oreo. "We've spent too much money fixing the fourth wall already. Plus you need to get back on track."

"Right, right." Oreo finished his coffee.

"How much of that stuff have you drinken?" Scar asked, looking concerned.

The author shrugged. "I dunno. I think this is my... ninth cup?" His fingers drummed on the handle of the mug.

Scar slapped the cup out of his hands. "No more."

Impulse, Asher and I stared at Scar. He was done for.

GoodTimesWithScar had just taken away the Author's coffee.

Oreo just sighed. "Fine, no more coffee."

I let out a small sigh of relief.

"So, after a few hours of research, I think that I've found a way, to save those who bit the dust!" Oreo lifted his hands triumphantly into the air.

The rest of us stayed unimpressed.

"Why did you have to use that song?" Impulse asked.

Oreo shrugged. "Couldn't help it."

He went on. "So, along with reading these, I also watched Endgame. And we need to use..." He drummed his fingers against the desk in a drumroll fashion. "Time travel!"

"How would we travel through time?" I asked.

Asher shrugged. "Beats me. Maybe we should find a Circle K."

Oreo laughed. "Nope. I have a way, to open another portal."

He looked at Asher. "Do you remember a few months ago, I asked if I could build a pizza printer death gun?"

Asher frowned. "Yes, and I told you no."

Oreo looked longingly at the mug on his desk. "Well..."

Asher groaned. "You made it, didn't you."

The author laughed. "Nope, I made a time machine instead."

"How does that relate..." Scar trailed off.

"Doesn't matter." Oreo grabbed a piece of paper and a pen. He started sketching a printer-looking device on it.

"I started making it, then got busy and abandoned the project. But it's still on Hermitcraft."

I tried to imagine that. "Wait, you've been coming onto Hermitcraft..."

Oreo nodded.

"And have been building a time machine..."

Oreo nodded again.

"For how long?"

The author counted on his fingers. "About six weeks."

Impulse looked at me. "Did you know about that?" He asked me.

I shook my head. "Nope."

Asher looked at the sketch Oreo was making. "So how long will it take to finish?" He asked.

"Maybe another six weeks, I don't know." Oreo responded.

Our faces fell. "Six... Weeks..." Scar whispered.

Oreo looked painfully at us. "It's not ideal, I know-"

"We can't wait six weeks!" Impulse snapped. "Our friends and family are gone."

"My best friend faded away in front of me." Asher growled.

"AC is gone." Scar added.

"I don't know if my brother is okay or not, but-" the look on Asher's face stopped me. "What?"

"Evil Xisuma... He faded away." The demibeast whispered.

My heart broke again. My brother... I shook my head. Now's not the time X. I scolded myself.

"We all lost people we care about. Friends, family, loved ones. But this is the chance to make a difference." Oreo gathered the papers up into a bundle. "And we need to use it. This is the only way to bring them back. Whatever it takes. Xisumavoid, will you take the chance?"

Oreo stared at me, and I finally understood what he'd said when I came here with Wither before.

"X, people are going to need you. Be ready to help at any time, because it could mean the difference between life and death".

I had to do this, or nobody was coming back.

"Yes." I said. "Let's go start."

Doc POV

Xisuma, Impulse, and Scar walked into the Star Team base, followed by two unfamiliar people.

"Who are they?" I asked.

X turned to me and smiled faintly behind his mask. "Asher, a codekeeper, and Oreo, the Author."

I was quiet. Oreo walked to the table and laid down a few sheets of paper. He noticed nobody was moving.

"Honestly, you can't go anywhere being an Author without people being like oh my god the author I'm going to die!!!"

He grinned, and the mood lightened a bit. "So could somebody get me a coffee-" an warning glare from Scar stopped him. "Never mind. But we have a way to get the others back."

Wait what? I felt myself perk up.

Oreo spread out the papers to show a printer looking device, and I groaned.

"The portal machine? Why do we need that?" I asked. The last time it had been used was when we were going home from Meatland.

Oreo laughed. "Nope, this is a time machine. It was going to be a death ray, but after somebody." He cast a meaningful glance at the half dragon. "Told me no. So I started a time machine instead."

This raised another batch of questions but I stayed quiet.

"The thing is, we can go back in time, collect the stones, bring them here, reverse what happened, and problem solved!" Oreo raised his hands triumphantly.

False frowned. "But wouldn't that just mess up time? Removing something from the past, that would affect the future."

Asher nodded. "So we return them right after we succeed."

We all agreed.

"The thing is." X innturupted. "It's going to be dangerous. Messing with time, Thanos, and Infinity Stones won't end out well. This is a risk, but we have to take that chance. And we will fix this.

Whatever it takes."
