Malachi's POV
There's new furniture in the house, and new belongings. It's not like there was anything to begin with, but new things comes new people. But in this case, it's a girl.
"Honey," she yells, walking in through the door. I turn invisible and make my way into the living room where she's standing in the doorway. "I'm home!" I stare at her in confusion. I'm confused as of who she is exactly looking for considering the fact that it's only the two of us alone here in the house. She laughs to herself as if she told a hilarious joke. "Just kidding. I don't have a lover."
She shuts the door and turns on the light. The house is completely furnished due to the fact that others had helped her unpack here, and it feels homie. . . at least I think it does. She plops onto the couch next to me, and I jump slightly. She's really close to me, but it's not like she can touch me. She doesn't even know that I'm here. So what if I just. . .
I stand up and make my way over to the kitchen, where I had come from originally when she first arrived here. It's been so lonely here, and nobody ever stays in this house for longs because of me. Maybe she's different. She seems young and around what age I would be if I weren't. . . well you know. . . dead. Besides, it gets boring being all alone here. What's a little fun going to hurt?
I'm like an illusion. I look like a real life, alive, salesman. That's her biggest fear, salesman. She's not necessarily scared of them but what they can do to her, and that's exactly what I'm going to pull off.
I've already learned that her name is Y/N L/N, and the rest of it is easy. That's the thing. Someone caused me pain and left me alone, upset, in pain, and scared, so I'm going to do the same thing to everybody else. It's not right, but what else am I supposed to do? It's not like I'm going to turn back into a human anytime soon. I'm a ghost. I'm simply just carrying out what human's protest ghost to be and how horrid they sometimes are.
"Ah, Ms. L/N, I'm glad to see that you're all settled in." To her, I appear to be some really creepy man who somehow managed to get into her house, but she doesn't know the half of it.
"W-Who are you?" She questions, standing up. It's not hard to tell that she's already frightened. It's a tad bit funny to me, but that doesn't mean anything. The fun is just about to begin. "How did you get into my house?"
"Oh that doesn't matter sweetheart." I tilt my head and look up, biting my lip ever so sightly. There was rope hidden in my hand that I held behind my back, and I let it show once my hands go to my sides. "Say, would you like to have a bit of fun? I sell rope for a living. Care to test it out for me? It's a new kind."
"No, no," she tells me, pushing the comment to the side and reaching for her phone on the table and slowly walking backwards towards her front door. I lock the door with my mind to slow her down. "There's no need for that. In fact, I think it's about time I leave. A friend is waiting for me!" She lets out an awkward laugh, looking uneasy.
"Are you sure?" She reassures me that she doesn't want to test out the rope and bolts towards the door. She realizes that I'm getting closer and panics as she tries to open the door only to fail. "Come on sweetheart, don't be like that." She tried to unlock the door and pull on it, but to no luck she's unable to do so. I walk over to her and place my hand on her shoulder, and she looks at though she wants to cry. "Hello," I coo, leaning into her ear.
"P-Please just leave me alone. I'll do anything. Just p-please stop."
She looks so fragile and frightened, and I don't know why but I feel bad. She's clamped her eyes shut and has her arms hugged around her torso. She's shaking, and I want to give her a hug. It confuses me, but I turn back to my normal form anyway.
"I won't hurt you," I sigh, shaking my head and she opens her eyes to see me, a silhouette of a man that was once a real human being. She looks at me, shocked at first but then amused and fascinated. "I'm sorry I hurt you like that. I've just been so lonely and scared, and I wanted others to feel what I've felt for all this time. It's not easy always being alone you know." She sticks her hand through my stomach and makes a noice making me know that she finds the fact that her hand just went through me cool and that ghosts are real and that's strange. She keeps removing and reinserting her hand through my stomach until I grow annoyed and bored of it. "You can stop that now."
"Hmm? Oh, okay." She looks at me and smiles. Was she not just terrified of me moments before? "You're forgiven. I think that living in a house with a ghost could be kinda fun."
Fun?

I didn't know how, but Y/N was right. Shocking, yes I know, even I'm surprised about it. Living with Y/N has been pretty awesome, and I wouldn't trade her for anybody else. But there's one thing that I don't understand, how is it that she makes me feel. . . weird? I haven't felt this way since I had a crush on a girl named Alexis. Could it be-no-it can't. A ghost can't develop feelings, especially for a human.
"Malachi!" Y/N yells out, her footsteps alerting me that she's running up the stairs. I instantly go invisible to hide from her. "Malachi, c'mon, I know you're here. I just heard your voice up here a few seconds ago." She stops a few feet away from me, and I hold my breath. "Malachi, I know you're standing by me. This isn't fool me anymore. Just because I can't see you doesn't mean that I don't know you're not there. Why are it hiding from me?"
I turn visual again not because she wants me to but instead because I want to. Okay, it's because she wants me to, and I don't want to hold that form more than I have to.
"Because you confuse me and make things happen that aren't supposed to happen to ghosts," I reply, moving away from her.
"Like what?" I turn towards Y/N, and her curious eyes make me bite in my bottom lip. How does she manage to make me feel feelings if I'm dead?
It's now or never. It's not like if I tell her now, or not at all, there's the possibility that I would become human. It doesn't work like that. Ghosts and human don't belong together. I'm dead and she's alive. I'll forever be dead, and I'd have to wait for her to die in order for the possibility of ever being together. But then again, she'd be dead and I don't know if she'd be able to feel feelings. Who am I kidding? I don't even know if she has feelings for me now.
"Um, well, y-you're beautiful." My stutter gives me away that something truly is wrong and there's no hiding it since she knows something's up. Her eyebrow is raised, and her arms are crossed over her chest as she taps her foot against the floor signaling for me to continue and to stop procrastinating on my words. "You're smart, and funny. Y-You're kind and caring, and you didn't leave me when you had the chance like when all the others did. You're something different, and, um, well you make it feel as though I have feelings because I like you." My last three words sound more like a question, and I didn't really want that if I'm being honest. I'm just confused, and I can tell that she is too. How does a ghost end up liking a human? They don't. . . at least they're not supposed to.
She bursts out laughing, and I turn away because I'm highly embarrassed. I just admired to having some weird feelings for her, as if I were human, and she's laughing at me. It kinda sucks, and hurts if I'm being honest.
"No, no, no! I'm not laughing because it sounds dumb. I'm laughing because that's so cute!" She confirms, trying to make me feel better so I turn around. Long story short, it works. "Malachi, I don't know how this happened, but I like you too!"
I stare at her shocked. She likes me? She could like any human person out there, but she chooses me? A ghost? This really is a strange situation. What makes it stranger is. . . she managed to kiss me?
The moments her lips hit mine, something felt different. It was warmer than normal, and I felt her rise to my cheeks. I felt her touch against mine, and. . . I loved it.
I open my eyes to see her smiling a large grin that goes from ear to ear. I go to move the hair that has fallen on my forehead back with my hand, but the look of tan skin that is on my arm shows me exactly why she's shocked.
I'm alive! But how?
"H-How did this happen?" I question out loud. My clothes are ripped, but they have color. My heart is beating. I can feel my own pulse! Heat can rise to my cheeks. I can touch things and other things can touch me. This is wonderful!
I grab onto Y/N and spin her into a circle as she's in my arms. After a full 360° rotation, I set her down on her feet where I place kiss after kiss against her face and cheeks and hands and arms. I can't help smiling because I'm so happy.
Being human comes with a price, and I know it's my magicks because I don't even have the possibility to show Y/N her worst fear even if I wanted to again. I wouldn't ever want to do that again because I care for her. But with this, I'll tell her later. Right now I'm just so happy to be human, and I want to know how.
"You said you were feeling emotions like a human, and I kissed you." Y/N furrows her eyebrows together and then lets out an excited gasp. "True loves first kiss! You were acting like a human, or a piece of you was or felt human, and my kiss helped turn you human! At least. . . that's the only thing I can think of."
I nod my head and scoop her back into my arms. "That's all I need to know. We'll go with that. But Y/N I lost my magicks when I turned human, but I don't need them as long as I have you. That is. . . if you'll-"
"Of course, Malachi! I'm yours." Y/N smiles at me a heart warming smile and pecks my cheek. "Now, we need to find you some clothes. Because even torn and ripped fashion is in right now, it looks like you let a seven year old makeover your closet."
It looks like she really is different from everybody else that has lived here before her, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
