Two lovers, forbidden from one another
Type: Romantic/kinda angsty but not really
Ship: Roceit (I just love making them suffer)
"Janus?"
"Roman?"
"Good, you're here," Roman says.
The two sides approach each other. They are in Roman's castle in the imagination, the most secure place for them to meet.
"How has everything been going?" Janus asks.
Roman shrugs.
"Fine," he says, "You make a pretty impressive Patton,"
"Why thank you," Janus says, "So what do you have planned for tonight?"
"Well, Patton usually sleeps in after a video, and Logan will be burying himself in research for the next, and Virgil rarely leaves his room, so I was thinking a movie marathon!" Roman says.
"Sounds delightful," Janus smiles.
They sit down in the theater room, where Roman summons some popcorn and blankets. They sit together, cuddled up.
"I miss you," Roman says.
"What do you mean?" Janus asks.
"I miss you all the time. We hardly get to see each other!" Roman says.
Janus puts his arm around Roman.
"I know. It hurts. But maybe one day we'll be allowed to see each other. Once Patton stops being so pushy and Virgil forgives me," he says, "Although I doubt the latter is possible. I don't blame him,"
"I think he's just stupid for not seeing you the way I do, Jay. Practically perfect in every way," Roman says.
Janus blushes.
At around 4 AM, they part ways.
"Farewell, my love," Roman says, bowing and nearly falling over.
"You need to sleep. I don't think you can make it back to your room, so you should sleep here," Janus says.
"As you wish," Roman mumbles, falling onto the couch and falling asleep within a few minutes.
Janus smiles as he takes one last glance at his boyfriend. Roman could be very overdramatic and loud, but deep down they both had the same goals and dreams, and Roman has a heart of gold.
He's the one person Janus can't lie to very easily. He can lie to his boyfriend, of course, but he chooses not to. He doesn't want to.
"Where were you, Anus?" Remus asks as Janus enters their bedroom hallway.
"None of your business," Janus says.
"Well, now it is my business! Were you off with one of the Light Sides? Perhaps you were f-"
"I wasn't out with the Lights. I was merely visiting my gardens and snakes," Janus says.
"Are you lying?" Remus asks.
"No," Janus says.
Remus shrugs.
"Ok! Nighty night, Anus!" he says, going back to his room.
Janus sighs and enters his room. His and Roman's separation goes both ways. None of the Light Sides would approve of their relationship. And Remus would definitely try to kill Janus if he knew he was dating his brother.

Roman wakes up in the theater room. It takes him a minute to realize why. Janus.
He sits up and rubs his eyes. He sees his reflection and notices the mess that is his hair. Roman sinks out of the imagination and into his room, only to appear just outside of it.
He grabs the doorknob, but it won't budge. His door is locked.
"Hey, Logan, did you lock my door?" Roman asks, crossing the hall and knocking on Logan's door.
"No," Logan says, "Did you lock yourself out?"
"No! I wouldn't be that stupid! My door has a sink-proof lock on it right now that I didn't put there!" Roman says.
Logan opens his door.
"Why were you trying to sink into your room?" he asks.
"Well, during the middle of the night I heard a cry for help from the imagination, so I bravely sacrificed a good night's sleep to help one of the villagers, as they were being attacked by a Dragon Witch! I just got back and tried sinking into my room, but I can't," Roman explains.
Logan raises his eyebrow.
"You don't have a single scratch on you," he says.
"And? I happen to be a very talented swordsman and prince! I can handle a battle no-sweat!" Roman says.
Logan rolls his eyes.
"I'm inclined to believe that is a falsehood, but neither Patton nor Deceit have said anything, and if it were a blatant lie they would have. So I will find a way to unlock your room," Logan says.
Roman gives an offended gasp.
"You doubt my heroicness?" he asks.
"Yes. Now go downstairs, Patton has breakfast waiting," Logan says.
Roman nods and goes downstairs.
"Hi, kiddo!" Patton says.
"Good morning, Padre!" Roman says.
Patton hands Roman a plate with a few pancakes on it.
"Thank you," Roman says.
"Wow Princey, trying a new hairstyle? It looks like a rat nest," Virgil says, coming down the stairs.
"Oh shut up, Emo Nightmare," Roman snaps, "My room is locked and the Dragon Witch isn't kind to my hair,"
"Oh, sorry about that! I'm a little on edge since Deceit came, so I made sure he couldn't come into our rooms. It must have blocked you too," Patton says.
Roman is a little annoyed Patton hadn't even bothered to tell him or ask him if he is ok with it.
"Well, can you unblock it? My room's locked from the inside," Roman says.
"If I do, Deceit might come after you next," Patton says.
Roman scoffs.
"Like he could impersonate my charm and beauty!" he says.
He feels bad just saying that. There is nothing his amazing boyfriend can't do, and Roman is willing to admit Janus may be almost as pretty as him. Maybe even equal.
"I just want you to be safe, kiddo," Patton says.
"I'll be fine. But I need to tend to my hair, so please unlock my room!" Roman says.
"Of course!" Patton says, snapping his fingers.
Roman sinks out and into his room, relieved that he actually made it into his room.
It's the rude comments and mean talk about Janus that make Roman really wish he could just run off with him and away from everyone.
Maybe he can.
He has an entire labyrinth around his part of the imagination, and he made it so nobody could enter without his permission.
At the idea, Roman locks and sinks out of his room, reappearing in Janus's.
"What the- Roman!" Janus says.
"Keep your voice down," Roman says.
"Remus isn't here, he's off trying to get Logan to listen to his ideas," Janus says.
Roman nods.
"I want to run away with you," he says.
"What?" Janus asks.
"Run away. Live in the imagination together. We can still do our work and show up in videos, but we can live in the village or even the castle together!" Roman says.
"Roman... that sounds wonderful!" Janus says, standing up, "But won't the other's notice our absence?"
"Well, the Lights will, but I don't care. They can't get to us in the imagination and they can live without me," Roman says.
Janus nods.
"But they might alert Thomas or ask Remus. I suggest you visit there during the day to not raise suspicion," he says.
"But Patton has a lock on my room so I can't sink in or out. He only unlocked it today so I could actually get in," Roman says.
"Perhaps we need a secret tunnel," Janus says.
"Secret tunnel! Through the mountain, secret secret secret secret tunnel!" Roman sings, "I'll do it. Let's go live our lives together,"
Janus nods. They'll make secret tunnels, connecting their rooms to their new home in the imagination. That way they can stay together and nobody will know.
They take each other's hands and Roman sinks them out.
They reappear in front of the Disney-esque castle.
"Janus," Roman says, "I love you,"
"I love you too," Janus says, taking off his gloved.
He pockets them, promising himself he'll never wear them, so long as he's with Roman.
I have a new desk and I love it. And I got to assemble it! Super fun! And by the way, requests are open, please leave them on the requests page (first chapter). Peace out, you magnificent peeps!
