Type: Kid kind of spooky/human AU/And they were roommates

"These are a few of my favorite things~" Patton hums so himself as he cleans.

"AAAAAAAAAAAH!" Roman screams from the other side of the apartment.

"Remus, leave your brother alone!" Patton shouts.

"It's not me this time!" Remus shouts.

Roman screams again.

Patton sighs.

"Kiddos, you're going to scare the neighbors!" he says.

"It's not my fault Roman is a wimp!" Remus says.

"I'm NOT! This is POISONOUS!" Roman shrieks.

"You know what? I don't have the energy to deal with you being dramatic right now. I'm going to hang out with Janus," Remus says.

He grabs his phone and a hoodie before leaving. 

Roman, meanwhile, rushes over to the door.

"Remus, where are you going?" Patton asks.

"Out. With Janus," Remus says.

"Ok. Be home by-"

"By ten, I know," Remus says, "See ya later, Pat. Don't let choke on the rat hairs in your peanut butter,"

"Wha-" Roman starts to say before Remus leaves.

"Don't worry about it," Patton says, "We're all out of peanut butter anyway,"

"Ok- good," Roman says, "I think I'm gonna go bother Logan. Plus, there's something weird in the other room,"

He said it in such a passive tone that Patton didn't process it for a few seconds.

"Ok, good luck," Patton says, "If he shouts at you go to Remy and Emile's,"

"I know. Plus, if he is working then I need to rescue him from a life of boredom!" Roman says, holding up his arms in a dramatic way.

Patton smiles.

"You're good at that. But he might be really busy," he says.

"Oh well," Roman says.

After he leaves Patton goes back to cleaning.

"Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels, doorbells and sleighbells and schnitzel with noodles," he continues singing softly.

After he finishes dusting the apartment he moves on to the dishes. Roman was planning on having a Halloween party tomorrow night, and Patton volunteered for the cleaning. He just enjoys cleaning.

"When the dog bites, when the bee stings, or when I'm feeli-" 

Patton cuts himself off when he hears a noise. A small thump. But they didn't have any pets or a rodent problem in the apartment.

He tenses up but tries to ignore it.

"-ing sad. I simply remember my favorite things, and then I don't feel so bad~"

But then he hears something fall to the floor. Patton decides to investigate. Maybe there is just a cute little mouse that found its way to Remus' room.

He grabs his broom and walks over to the other side of the apartment, where he hears the noise coming from Roman's room. Somehow, that made him even more scared. Strange things from Remus' room he could understand, but Roman's?

Patton clutches his broom as the door creaks open.

"H-Hello?" he asks.

There's no response.

He steps in carefully, holding the broom tighter. He sees Roman's scripts for past musicals he's been in, scattered all over the floor.

Patton steps into the middle of the room. When he hears a small noise, he swings his broom in the direction, swatting at whatever might be there.

"Go- Away!" he says.

When he finally stops and the dust clears, Patton sees a spider. Sitting in a damaged web.

He screams. Louder than even Roman.

A few minutes later, Virgil, the neighbor, comes rushing in. He finds Patton curled up in a corner.

"Patton? Is everything alright? I hear screaming," he says.

"SPIDER!!!!!!!" Patton shrieks.

"Where?!" Virgil asks.

"Over there!" Patton says, pointing to the other corner.

Virgil rushes over there and picks up the spider in his hand.

"Cool," he says, "It's a wolf spider!"

"GET IT AWAY! GET IT AWAY!" Patton shouts, holding up his broom again.

"Duh. I'm not letting you kill him- no her," Virgil says.

"Just get it away!" Patton says.

"Will do. My other spider died last week, rest in peace Ray," he says.

Virgil leaves the room but stops right as he steps out.

"Oh, and all the neighbors probably heard your scream. Logan is freaking out and Emile and Janus probably are too," he says.

"Sorry- I'll tell them what happened later," Patton says.

Virgil nods and leaves, leaving Patton shaken up. That spider was so big, hairy, and probably venomous!

A few hours pass when Roman and Remus come home. Both are bruised, so they got into another fight.

"Kiddos, fight again and I'll get Virgil to unleash his wolf spider," Patton says.

"Is that why you were screaming?" Roman asks, "You found it?"

"Virgil morphed a wolf and a spider together? Or did a wolf and a spider-" Remus asks.

"No, a wolf spider is a kind of spider," 

"Are you sure? Did you see the thing?"

"It was just a normal spider," Patton interjects.

"Darn," Remus says.

"I'm going to go get the band-aids and ice packs, Roman, your eye is swelling," Patton says, standing up.

"Yeah, because Remus is a-"

"Oh shut up. You were asking for it!"

Patton sighs as the twins fight. He loves them but sometimes they can get annoying. But he's glad that he's not alone in a house that might have more spiders anymore.

This is the best I could do with the prompt: Spider. But since it's October, I would LOVE it if you peeps gave me some spooky prompts and requests. Peace out, my peeps!
