Virgil sighs. He's in for a really long day at his job. He works in retail and hates it more than anything. But it's Black Friday, so everyone is even more insane.

He drives up to the local Starbucks. He's in desperate need of coffee before he hurts someone.

"Hello, this is Remy, what would you like today?" the barista asks through the speaker thing.

Remy. Virgil had spoken with him several times over the years, as he's been working at Starbucks for as long as he's been in retail.

"One iced coffee," Virgil says.

He likes iced coffee the best. Plus, he's in Florida where it's not that cold in the winter.

"Coming right up," Remy says.

Virgil pulls up to the window, pays, and gets his coffee.

"Hey babe," Remy says.

"Oh- uh- hi," Virgil says.

"Your name's Virgil, right?" Remy asks.

Virgil nods. Remy hands him the cup and Virgil thanks him. As he's driving, he sees his name actually spelled right for the first time. That alone makes his day a little better. 

Until he walks into the store and immediately gets yelled at by a wild Karen. But that's just retail.

The next day, Virgil decides to go inside. It's rainy and he has a half-hour before his shift.

"Hey gurl, welcome to Starbucks," Remy says, "What can a get ya?"

"Uhh-" Virgil says.

He doesn't like being put on the spot for ordering.

"Just an iced coffee, thanks," he says.

Remy nods.

"Can I get a name?" he asks.

"Virgil," Virgil says while Remy already writes his name down.

There was hardly anyone in the shop, so Virgil's drink was made rather fast.

"Iced coffee for Virgil!" Remy calls.

"I'm right here, and thank you," Virgil says.

"I know," Remy winks, "I just wanted to call your name, babe,"

Virgil blushes.

He checks his name on the cup as he leaves. It says 'That hot emo'. Virgil blushes even more and tries to hide it, even though there's nobody around.

A month of this passes. It's now the holiday season and another nightmare for Virgil.

This time, however, Remy encounters Virgil at Virgil's job.

"Did you find everything ok today, sir?" Virgil asks, not looking up and he checks out Remy's items.

"Yeah, apart from one thing," Remy says.

"What did you need help getting?" Virgil asks.

"Your number," Remy smirks.

Virgil goes red.

"Ok, that was good. I'll give you my number tomorrow morning," Virgil says, looking up and recognizing Remy.

"Finally!" Remy says, "Because gurl, I've been dying to ask you to the mall downtown this weekend. There's a new coffee shop and Hot Topic opening there,"

Virgil perks up.

"Really?" he asks.

Remy nods.

"And I want you to come," he says.

"Awesome," Virgil says.

"Call me," Remy winks as he leaves.

They ended up getting each other's numbers and had been texting all day. Turns out, they were both coffee addicts home from college with nothing to do all day.

Virgil has been looking forward to the trip all day. Remy didn't say it was a date, but it is totally a date.

He isn't that into going to the mall, but Virgil was into coffee and Hot Topic stuff. And Remy.

"Hey babe," Remy says as Virgil arrives.

It was loud and crowded. Just how Virgil hated it.

"H-hi. So- uh- where is the place?" Virgil asks, trying to keep his legs from shaking.

Remy takes Virgil's hand.

"I'll show you," he says.

The store was amazing. Remy got Virgil a new hoodie and Virgil got Remy a figurine. It was only their first date, but they connected well.

"You can stay here while I order," Remy says.

They're at a boba tea place, and Virgil was both too scared to go up to order and on edge from being in public so long. Remy can tell, so he decides to just get their drinks and go.

"Here. Mango," Remy says, handing Virgil a cup.

"Thanks," Virgil says.

"Not a problem," Remy says, "Do you want to hang out at my place? It's feeling pretty crowded here,"

"Yeah. Do you like The Office?" Virgil asks.

Remy nods.

"Let's go," he says.

Virgil nods. He was dropped off by his friend anyway, as his car had decided to be a jerk the day before and break down.

A few weeks and two dates later, they knew they were perfect together. Their first date had gone amazingly, but Virgil is still in disbelief.

"Babe, you know you're amazing, right?" Remy asks.

They're at a park, because why not?

"I think you're amazing," Virgil says.

"Don't avoid my question," Remy says.

He ruffles Virgil's hair a little, which makes them both smile.

"Ok yes, I know you think I'm amazing," Virgil says.

"It's fact, babe. I think I love you just as much as I love caffeine," Remy says.

"I think I love you more," Virgil counter.

"And I think my baby brother finally has a crush," Roman says, coming up behind them.

Remy frowns.

"Ro, can you leave us alone for once?" he snaps.

"Geez. I just wanted to see who you're 5 seconds away from making out with," Roman says.

Virgil pushes himself up a little and turns around.

"Hey Princey," he says.

"Ah. I'm not shocked it's you. So ordinarily I'd tell you to treat my brother nice and be nice, but that's a given with you," Roman says, "Well, nice being passive-aggressive and sarcastic,"

"Great, so can you go now?" Virgil asks.

Roman rolls his eyes.

"Yeah," he says, "I just wanted to embarrass Rem," 

Virgil looks back at Remy as Roman walks away. He's very embarrassed under his sunglasses.

"Aw, it's ok. I have annoying siblings too," Virgil says.

"Yeah, you'd think they'd stop once we're all in college, but no," Remy says.

"Exactly. Now I think we should leave before we encounter more family," Virgil suggests.

"Yeah. Want to go get some coffee?" Remy asks.

"Hmm. It's 8 PM, I have an early shift tomorrow, and coffee prevents me from sleeping. So yeah," Virgil says.

Remy snorts.

"Mood," he says.

"I am a mood," Virgil says.

"I know. But you're also cute so it's a win-win," Remy says.

They hold hands as they walk to the Starbucks nearby. Virgil never thought that he'd get a boyfriend through his coffee addiction and crappy job, but he's thrilled that he did.

This one's a little shorter and kinda crappy, but it's also just romantic fluff. And boy do I love Sleepxiety fluff. Requests are still open, peace out my peeps!
