Type: Angst but not really/I have no idea what I'm doing

Depressed-ish!Virgil

Roman whistles a merry tune as he walks down the hallways, to the Imagination.

"I'm off on a secret mission, a totally secret scheme," he sings.

He's to off to kill his brother, it's usually Remus who tries to kill him. No, Roman is off to save his kingdom and be a hero. 

He arrives at the Imagination, sighing as he summons up some dragons, witches, and dragon-witches. Sometimes he wishes he could do more than fight imaginary threats. They tend to get boring after a while, especially because he makes them. But Remus's ideas are too chaotic and disgusting, so there's no way Roman would ask him.

After the battle, Roman gets the idea to try something new. What if he made the other sides, his friends, here? Nobody else can enter the Imagination, so it tends to get lonely.

Roman smiles at the idea, and the first side to pop up is Virgil. Then Patton. Then Logan. Then Remus. And finally, Janus. Despite what Roman always says, he loves everyone.

"Hey, Princey. What're we doing here?" Virgil's clone asks.

"Just hanging out. How are you guys?" Roman asks.

"Stabby!" Remus says.

"Not fine," Janus says.

"Just pun-derful!" Patton says cheerfully.

"I was satisfactory until Patton made a pun," Logan says, groaning.

"Meh. Can I go now?" Virgil asks.

"No! We're going to have some fun!" Roman says.

He summons a field and a flag on either side.

"Capture the flag? What are we, kids?" Virgil asks with a scoff, "I'm out,"

He walks towards the edge of the Imagination, and Roman just sighs. He won't get out, only he and his brother can. Right?

After the game, Roman snaps to make everyone disappear and goes back to the rest of the Mindpalace.

"ROMAN! CLONE! OF VIRGIL! TRYING! TO KILL! LOGAN!" Patton shouts, rushing up to Roman the second he leaves, out of breath.

"What?" Roman asks, dropping his sword.

"YEAH!" Patton says, falling to his knees.

"Alright, stay in your room, I'll handle this," Roman says.

He picks Patton back up and leads him to his room.

"Where are they now?" Roman asks.

"Logan's in his room, he has no clue and the Virgils are in the- somewhere, I have no idea!" Patton says.

Roman nods and rushes off. Finally, a chance for a heroic mission!

Roman storms off, in search of the clones. But it doesn't take long for him to find them.

"Can we please do something now?" one asks.

"No! You wanted to do this!" the other says.

One is sitting on the top of the couch, and the other is sitting on top of the other. Roman decides to call the one on bottom 1, and the other 2, seeing as he doesn't know which is which.

He clears his throat, but neither looks up. So, with a smirk, he starts to sing Virgil's least favorite song.

"LOVE IS AN OPEN DOOOOOOOOOOOOOR," he shouts.

They both look up at Roman and hiss.

"Let's just get on with the murder!" 1 says.

He jumps up, grabbing 2, who Roman figures must be the real Virgil, and they smack Roman as they run upstairs.

"Ow!" Roman shouts, "Get back here!"

He gets upstairs and tackles himself into the two before they can get to Logan's door.

"Rude! Just let me kill him! He's a jerk!" one of them says.

Roman can't see who is who or who said that. But he pulls one of them up, holding his sword to his neck.

"Who's the real one? Don't try running if you're a clone, I can snap you away," he says.

Roman looks back and forth between the clones.

"Kill him, he's the fake!" the one he's not holding says.

He immediately snaps and the one who said it vanishes. Roman knows the real Virgil wouldn't pass up a chance at death.

"Virgil, next time your life is in danger, please speak up," Roman says with a sigh.

"So close-" Virgil mutters.

"PATTON!" Roman shouts.

"Wait-" Virgil says.

Patton comes speeding down the hallway and sees the scene.

"KIDDOS ARE YOU OK?!" he asks.

"I am fine, Padre. But Virgil nearly LET HIMSELF GET KILLED!" Roman shouts.

"I AM GOING TO PHYSICALLY FIGHT YOU!" Patton shouts.

"NOT IF I DO IT FIRST!"

Virgil turns around to see his other father figure, Janus.

"Roman, let me go if you value your sashes," he says.

Roman lets go of Virgil's arm and Virgil bolts out of the hallway.

"NOT ON MY WATCH! REMUS, CATCH THE SPIDER!" Janus shouts.

Remus appears right in front of Virgil and tackles him to the ground.

"What's going on?" he asks.

"Nothing, let me go," Virgil says.

"Virgil is welcoming death again," Janus says.

"Alright, time to take you to emo heaven," Remus says.

He sinks out with Virgil.

"What do you mean, 'again'?" Patton asks.

"Nothing. Why don't you go back to the Imagination with Roman?" Janus asks.

"Wait-" Patton starts to say.

Janus snaps his fingers, sending the two sides to the Imagination before they can ask any more questions.

"And I," Janus says to himself, "Am going to go see my boyfriend,"

He walks to Logan's door and knocks.

"LOGAN! I WANT CUDDLES!" he shouts.

Logan opens his door.

"Why?" he asks.

"Because someone was trying to kill you and I want them," Janus says.

Logan sighs.

"You are like a child and Remus doesn't count," he says.

"It wasn't Remus this time," Janus says.

"I still don't care," Logan says.
