Your P.O.V
---
Shoving your most sensible and toughest clothes in a bag, you ran a hand through your hair as you sighed.
Nothing was simple or realistic anymore...
Not since these two guys showed up at your house, claiming to be your half-brothers, who also happened to hunt all things not-natural.
Not-natural, as in Demons, spirits, and anything you could think of that was scary as heck and came from folk-lore.
You name it, they hunted it.
Of course, you sent them away-they were crazy right?
But no, not long after they left, you were attacked by something, not human.
You had no idea what it was.
All you knew, is that what your 'brothers' had told you, was 100% true.
You promptly called them up, and they had arrived 20 minutes later, telling you to 'pack up, we're heading across country bright and early tomorrow morning'.
So here you were, packing up the few belongings you owned, and readying yourself for this new life.
You wouldn't miss this orphanage, (it was one of many) after all, you were nearly 19, and they had already given you a warning that they were going to kick you out.
'It's time to make your way in the world, (Y/N), you're not a child anymore.' they had told you.
Recognizing footsteps down the hall as the head mistress coming to give you another warning, you gazed around the room you'd lived in for the last 2 months, then hoisted the bag over your shoulder, and raced out the door.
The distinct sound of your older brother's Impala made its way to you, and you knew your brothers were here to pick you up.
Quickly jogging up the driveway, you slowed down as the sleek black car approached you.
It stopped a few feet from you, and your two brothers hopped out simultaneously, a smooth move borne of repetition in the hundreds, if not higher.
It's like they live in that car, you thought, as they walked towards you.
"Hey (Y/N," your brother, Sam, said kindly.
He was the more sympathetic of the two, while Dean was the more, 'Suck it up and move on, sweetheart,' type of person.
"Morning Sam, Dean," you greeted.
Sam and Dean both spotted your backpack at the same time, and while Sam came to grab it, Dean just rose an eyebrow.
"That's all you have for personal belongings?" Dean asked incredulously.
You shrugged, not really having anything to say about it.
"I learned from a young age that when you move around as often as I do, you make sure you can pack up practically on the spot. There's no making a home anywhere."
Sam and Dean exchanged glances, talking without using words.
It was something you realized they did often.
"I'll put your bag in the trunk," Sam offered helpfully, shaking you out of your reverie.
You smiled at him. "Thanks Sam," you said tiredly.
As Sam walked around to the back of the car with your bag, a loud clunk echoed through the quiet air.
A quiet, "Aw crap," echoed through the air.
Dean's eyes fluttered shut with irritation.
"I swear to God Sam, that better not have been you banging my car," he stated loudly, spinning on his heels to see what Sam had done.
You facepalmed; was this how they were all the time?
Sighing, you turned to go see if they needed help, only to solidly slam into a hard wall....chest?
You looked up, only to catch your breath as your eyes met another pair of eyes, their bright cerulean blue colour swirling with powerful undertones.
You looked at the man you had bumped into, confused.
When had he gotten here?
You stared at each other, and that was when you realized just how close he was standing.
A sound of irritation made its way to your ears from your brother's direction, and you broke eye contact with the extremely good-looking man to look at Dean.
"Cas, we've talked about this," Dean complained, walking towards you and the man, who you now assumed to be 'Cas'.
Cas looked perplexed, with prompted Dean to explain further.
"Personal space? Don't cross the personal space line?" He asked, looking extremely fed up with Cas' apparent invasion of personal space on a regular basis.
You felt a heavy gaze, and looked up to see Cas staring back at you again, scanning you up and down before stepping back.
"My apologies," he said formally.
You rose an eyebrow at him.
"Who are you?" you asked bluntly.
"My name is Castiel. I am an angel of the Lord," he stated in a deep voice.
Excuse him?
"A little self righteous are we?" you asked, folding your arms.
Dean rolled his eyes, and grabbed your arm, pulling you to the car.
"Cas, we've got to go. Introductions later, we've got a case to get to."
"Dean. Do you really think it wise to bring your newfound sister on a hunt?"
'Cas' asked, following still very closely behind you, clearly forgetting what Dean had just told him.
"Ah, she'll be fine, she's got us!" Dean said dismissively.
Well then.
Never mind that though, how did Castiel know who you were?
"I glimpsed your memories," Cas said out of nowhere, and only after a moment did you realize he was speaking to you.
How did he...
Could he-
"Read minds? Yes." Castiel said seriously.
Oh my God.
The truth of your situation crashed through you, causing your breathing to quicken.
The asthma you hadn't had since you were a kid made a return trip, and suddenly, you found it really hard to breath.
Castiel gained a concerned look on his face, and he put a warm hand on your shoulder.
A warm tingling sensation flooded through your body, and then you could breath again.
You looked up wide-eyed at Castiel, who stood there observing you.
"I healed your lung infection," he stated. "You will not be bothered again by asthma."
"T-thanks," you stuttered.
Dean groaned.
"Can we get a move on? I'd like to hit the road before I die of old age." he said sarcastically.
"That is not possible Dean, you would never age that quickly," Castiel said, frowning.
The look on Dean's face made you want to laugh.
He looked like he wanted to pull his hair out.
The back of your head started throbbing, and you rubbed at it absentmindedly.
"Let's just go to wherever we're going." you complained, suddenly extremely tired.
Just then, Sam made his way over from wherever he had been for the past five minutes.
"So, what's happening?" He asked, having clearly missed the conversation you'd just had with your new brother and his intimidating friend, Castiel.
A laugh burst out of your lips, and the others looked at you like you were insane.
Maybe you were, and you had dreamed this whole thing up?
You sure felt crazy.
Was this your life now?
Crazy not-natural creepy dangerous things happening on a daily basis?
It sure seemed like it, seeming as Dean hadn't batted an eye when Castiel had healed your asthma.
You ignored the others, and climbed into the back seat of the Impala.
"It doesn't matter, let's just get the hell outta dodge," you called back to them.
Dean shrugged, and so did Sam.
"See you at the cabin Cas," Dean told his friend.
Castiel nodded, then in a flash of light and twisted shadows, he was gone.
Dean and Sam climbed into the car, and Dean turned the key, the Impala rumbling to life.
"Welcome to the Winchester way of life sis," Dean said, grinning sarcastically.
"You'll love it!"
Sam delivered a good smack to the back of Dean's head.
"Don't tell her that!" He exclaimed.
"OW!" Dean rubbed his head.
"Bitch," he muttered.
"Jerk," Sam replied.
Oh boy.
I'm doomed, was the only thought going through your head.
At least it wasn't as boring as your other life was.
I mean, who doesn't love a splash of life-threatening danger to spice up one's life, hey?
Yeah....
This was going to be great.
