A Day Off

It wasn't all that often that they got days off, but when they did, it was clear who they would want to spend that day with. Nathan had been looking forward to his day off for sometime now, and he was overjoyed that he was going to get to spend it with Sang, one of his favorite human beings.

Even though he wanted to wake Sang up early so that he could spend as much time with her as possible, he knew that it wasn't a good idea, considering the fact that she'd had a nightmare the night before. He carefully climbed out of bed and pressed a kiss to her head before walking as quietly as possible to the kitchen. He wanted to make sure she had some breakfast to wake up to.

He was nearly finished with making it when he heard the creaking of floorboards behind him. A smile formed on his face, aware that Sang had made sure to step where he would hear so she didn't sneak up on him and surprise him. He turned around and let out a sharp laugh at the sight before him. Sang's hair was ruffled and her eyes were bleary, the comforter from his bed wrapped around her. She stepped up to him and he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into him and kissing her head.

"Need some coffee?" He inquired, smoothing her hair away from her face as she looked up at him.

"That would be nice," she mumbled, releasing the comforter momentarily to rub her eyes. He chuckled and kissed her nose before gently lifting her, and setting her on the counter, comforter and all. Her eyes tracked his movement as he gracefully moved around the kitchen, taking care of breakfast while also grabbing her a bottle of coffee from the fridge and handing it to her. "What's the plan for today?"

"There is no plan," he informed her, shooting a brief smile as he tried to plate their food. "I was thinking we could just do whatever came to mind. Does that sound good? I was also thinking that we could take it easy since you didn't sleep the best last night."

"Oh," she said then let out a small yawn. "Do you think we could get away with stealing Max again today? Kota won't get home until tonight."

Nathan laughed and nodded. "Yeah sure, Peanut."

After that conversation, the two ate their breakfast, both of them laughing as the boys would casually text her to make sure she was okay. Nathan grumbled, obviously not happy about the fact that the boys didn't seem to trust him, but Sang quickly silenced him with a few kisses that he had most certainly appreciated.

"Can we go swimming?" Sang asked as they were cleaning up from breakfast. Nathan looked over to see that she was already looking at him, her green eyes wide and awaiting an answer.

A smile formed on his face and he nodded. "Of course. I'll finish up, you go get your bathing suit on and return my comforter to my bed."

"Your comforter and I are friends!" she called over her shoulder as she headed down the hallway towards his room. He laughed, enjoying the more playful side of her. He didn't get to see it all that often due to the fact that there was constantly in serious situations they had to handle.

A few minutes later Sang emerged from what Nathan had begun to refer to as their bedroom in her bathing suit. Even though he had seen her in it tons of times, he was always taken aback by how beautiful she looked. She joined him in the kitchen, smiling up at him, raising her eyebrows, as if waiting for him to say something. Instead of talking, he pushed her up against the counter and brought his mouth down onto hers.

Her arms wound around his neck, going into his hair. He groaned slightly as she tugged at it and she took the chance to slip her tongue into his mouth. He gripped her hips, drawing her close to him, nipping at her bottom lip. He didn't want the moment to end, but it did when she pulled away some, press light kisses to his jaw.

With a gentle swat at his butt, she whispered, "Put on your swim trunks so we can swim, Honey."

He groaned again and caught her hand to lightly nip at her fingers. "Such a tease."

She smiled innocently, the blush that had formed on her cheeks adding to the innocent look. He shook his head but did as he was told, going off and getting changed. They ended up spending a good amount of time in the pool, having several races and making several bets. By the end of it all, Sang had to cook him dinner, take a bath with him sometime soon, and he owed her a massage.

"What do you want to do now?" Nathan questioned as they dried off and headed into the house.

"I'm kind of tired, do you think we could just rest and watch some movies?" she asked him as she dried her hair, glad that Gabriel wasn't there to scold her for doing so. With her green eyes watching him like that, he would've agreed to anything, so of course he nodded in response.

"Would you like to go get Max, first?" he inquired, walking into his bedroom with her. "That way he can watch with us too?"

Sang's face lit up and she nodded her head vehemently. They got dressed before heading over to Kota's; Sang wearing one of Nathan's shirts and a pair of sleep shorts. Nathan wasn't sure he wanted to leave the house at all with how lovely she was looking, but slid his hand into hers anyways and lead her across the street. Sang knocked on the door, dropping Nathan's hand before Erica answered.

"Hi, Sang! Hi, Nathan!" Erica exclaimed, beaming widely. "Kota's not here right now, I thought you knew?"

"We know," Sang chirped, smiling back at Erica. "We're here for Max."

Erica, who was used to this game that Nathan and Sang, and occasionally Luke, participated in, laughed. "Of course you are. Hold on a moment. I'll get him for you, and before you ask, no I won't tell Kota."

"Thank you!" Sang called after her. Nathan looked down at his girlfriend and shook his head, grinning. It was her idea originally for them to take Max one night when Kota wasn't home, and ever since, it had become a routine of theirs. Every time they got the chance, they stole Max away, forcing Kota to come around and come retrieve his dog. Sometimes it wasn't even because she wanted to hang out with Max, but because she wanted Kota to stop by so she could see him.

A few moments later, Erica returned, a golden retriever in tow. She handed the leash over to Sang who thanked her once again and promised to stop by sometime soon for dinner, and then Nathan and Sang were headed back to Nathan's house.

Once they returned, Nathan set up for them to watch a movie. Sang had wanted to help, but he told her to just sit on the couch with Max and relax. She had wanted to argue, but it was clear she was very tired, so instead she remained on the couch, Max's head in her lap, the two of them watching as Nathan chose a movie and popped it in. Sang had forgotten to question what he was putting on, but she wasn't surprised in the least at the fact that it was a scary one. The remainder of their day was spent watching movies, Sang increasingly getting more and more scared.

The sun had just disappeared in the sky when Sang fell asleep. She was practically entangled with Nathan, her head resting on his chest, her arms wound around him, the blanket they had been sharing tangled between both their legs. Max had fallen asleep as well, his head still in her lap, one of her hands resting upon his head.

Nathan didn't dare to move, afraid of waking up his already exhausted girlfriend. He had began to drift off himself when there was a knock on the door, he tensed, aware that Sang was usually a rather light sleeper, but when she didn't wake up, he relaxed slightly. He carefully maneuvered himself away from her, standing and resting a pillow beneath her head.

As quietly as he could, he answered the door, already aware that it was Kota. He smiled and gestured for him to come inside.

"It would be really nice if you guys would stop stealing my dog," Kota grumbled but then stopped short at the sight that he was greeted with when he walked into the living room.

In the short couple minutes that Nathan had gone to answer his door, Sang had managed to wrap her arms around Max and rest her head on him instead of the pillow. Max didn't seem to mind much, though, he was awake now. His tongue shot out and he licked her face, but the only sign that she had felt it was that her nose scrunched up slightly.

"She can keep him tonight," Kota said, his voice soft and his eyes full of love as he observed the girl he was in love with hugging his dog. "I want them both back tomorrow morning, though."

"Of course," Nathan chuckled. "You should probably get going before she wakes up. She didn't sleep well last night and I want her to get as much as sleep as possible."

Kota nodded in agreement. Before leaving, he leaned down and kissed Sang's head, then patted Max and thanked him for being good boy to the girl that he loved. He muttered a quick goodbye and goodnight to his friend, then disappeared out the door.

Nathan sighed in content, about to sit down where Sang's legs were when he heard her mutter his name quietly. He kneeled down in front of her, smiling softly. "Yes, Peanut?"

"Was somebody here?" she asked, her words slurring together from sleep. She was half awake and that was clear.

"No one was here," he whispered then pressed a sweet kiss to her lips. When he pulled back he brushed some hair away from her face, smiling. "Go back to sleep, Peanut."

She yawned and nodded, her eyes already sliding shut again. "Okay. Goodnight, Honey. I love you."

His heart swelled at her words and his smile grew even bigger. "Goodnight. I love you too..."
