Sharena (Fire Emblem) X Reader

Disclaimer: I do not own Fire Emblem. If I did then for Book 3, I would give Hel characters that die in their home game like Mikoto, Sumeragi, Garon, and Arete from Fire Emblem Fates or Greil and Elena from Fire Emblem Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn. Spoilers I guess for those games, though they've been out for years.

(Y/N)'s POV

The hallway is silent, save for the soft thuds of my footsteps. No one else is here, a rare instance for the order of heroes. Everyone else is probably on patrol, helping the main Askr troops on the front line, or are in the war room with Prince Alfonse and Commander Anna. At least this means no one will impede me on my journey. My pace slows a little as I pass by Alfonse's room, signalling that I am close to my destination. Its only now that I realize, I have no clue what to say or do. My palms begin to get clammy as my throat dries. I wanted to come and help Sharena, but I don't have the foggiest idea on how to comfort her. What can I say to someone who just had their father killed right in front of them by the embodiment of death? If Alfonse is anything to go by, Sharena can't be handling this well. Like I could blame her though, because who could have all of that happen and handle it well?

My inner turmoil is paused when I finally reach the princess' room. I stand in silence for who knows how long, trying to figure out what to do. Eventually I decide to just give it my best shot and go for this. I mean, Sharena is one of my closest friends here alongside Alfonse, I need to be here for her. After clearing the lump in my throat, my arm raises to knock on her door, but something stops me. I'm able to hear something from the other side of the door, though not clearly enough to discern what I'm hearing. In a swift motion, my heads remove my hood from me and I soon listen closer only to find that it is soft sobs coming from inside of the room. A pit forms in my stomach as my expression falls. I need to help her the best I can. With a new found resolve, my hand knocks on the door before I speak up.

"Sharena? It's me, (Y/N)." My voice is a little shaky at first, but as I continue, it starts to level out, "I just wanted to come and check on you." The sound of movement comes from the other side of the door before the door unlocks and begins to open. Now standing in the doorway is the princess of Askr in the worst state I have ever seen her in. Sharena's usual bright eyes are red from crying, which has also left her face stained with still fresh tear trails. Her blonde hair is out of its usual braid, leaving most of it to trail down her back, leaving only her smaller pony tail to try and keep the rest of her hair in order, though its starting to fail as well. Looking down, I see that she has just managed to get her armor and boots off, while not the usually white clothes that she wears underneath. The clothes aren't any better, as they now have mud and tears stains on them, making them a far cry of what you would expect royalty to be wearing. I can feel sadness take a better grip on me, as I look to see those sorrow filled green eyes look back at me. "Hey Sharena." My voice is softer than it first was as she sniffles.

"H-hey (Y/N). What brings you to my neck of the woods." Sharena sniffles again before wiping her face with her sleeve.

"I wanted to see you. To check up on you." She struggles to make a smile as a weak, forced laugh comes from her.

"Thanks for the concern, (Y/N), but I'm fine." As she smiles, Sharena brings her hand up and wipes away some tears on her cheek. My head shakes a little as I'm not fooled, which causes her to continue, "Really, (Y/N), everything is okay. I'm... I'm just..." Her eyes start to water up again as her facade quickly crumbles down. Taking a step forward is all it takes from me for her to finally give in, as she lets out a sob and rushes forward. She nearly tackles me to the ground as the blonde spear wielder tries to bury her face in my chest, but I manage to keep my balance. Silently, I wrap my arms around her in a hug and just give her the chance to let it out. The two of us stay in the hallway for a while and luckily no one comes by. The entire time, I just gently hold her in my arms. Eventually, the sobs slow down and I take the opportunity to start guiding her back to her room. Just because we've been lucky with no one walking by, doesn't mean that our luck will last forever, and Sharena is in no state to deal with a crowd. After just a little bit, Sharena catches on to what I'm trying to do, and begins to walk with me, though she doesn't take her arms off of me, instead keeping them soundly wrapped around me.

Once we are inside of her room, with the door shut behind us, I guide her to the bed so she can sit down. Taking the opportunity to look around the room, I notice that it is not in much of a better state. Sharena's royal armor is scattered around the room, with books off of their shelves, and other things just strewn about the place. Her boots are separated with one by her bed and the other by the door. Most shockingly enough, her spear is currently embedded in a wall. I'll have to fix that later, but for now, I focus back on my crying friend. I manage to avoid all of the obstacles in our way, and get Sharena seated on the bed. I then look down at her arms still wrapped around me, before looking back up to the princess, who has now met my gaze. I move back to signal what I'm doing, but instead she pulls me closer and pleads with her eyes for me to stay. Once it is clear that I'm not leaving any time soon, I just nod and sit down next to her. Once seated, she starts to lean on me as I wrap an arm around her and hold her close. The two of us remain silent for a while, mostly because I don't know what to say and don't want to risk upsetting her more, but she doesn't seem to mind that. It doesn't feel like time is moving much, but I soon realize that the sun is getting low, because the room starts to darken. I must have been here longer than I thought, but Sharena's grip hasn't loosened and her head hasn't moved from my shoulder all this time. Her tears have nearly stopped though, so that's really what matters. Eventually, Sharena lifts her head and looks up at me.

"Thank you, (Y/N)... for everything." I gently rub her shoulder some as one of her arms finally drops down and just rests in my lap, "Thank you for helping the order, for helping my brother, for being my friend, and for this. You don't know how much this means to me." A soft smile grows on my lips, as I gently place my free hand over her hand that is in my lap.

"No problem, Sharena, though I haven't done much right now." She shakes her head to my answer, as a small, but genuine smile grows on her face.

"You're here and right now that's all I want." My smile grows a little when I see her mood picking up and hear that I've been able to help her.

"I'm just happy I could help you." She gives me a soft nod in response before she looks to her window and sees the sun set. She takes a minute to gather her thoughts, before taking a breath.

"I know... I know this pain will be here for a while, but I know it will also fade with time. I don't know how long that will be though. Will... will you stay with me until it happens?" My one armed hug tightens a little on her before I answer.

"Of course. As long as it takes." The princess then shifts in her spot as she then continues.

"And will you stay with me now?" She then turns and looks back up at me with her pleading eyes, "Please?" When I look back down at her, I'm surprised to see some water still in her eyes after all of her crying. With how she is looking at me now, there isn't a way for me to tell her no, and thus, I soft nod my head. Her body relaxes against mine as her small smile returns to her lips, "Thank you, (Y/N)." Her arms lets go of me as she uses the now free hand to gently cup the other side of my head. Sharena then leans up and before I can figure out what is happening, kisses my cheek closest to her. Sharena's soft lips rest on my skin for some time, as I am frozen in place. My body hasn't gone rigid, but I don't know what to do, I don't have a response. Eventually, she ends the kiss, only to move closer so that she can rest her head in the crook of my neck, "You are the best person I know. Thank you." After she gets done softly speaking, the princess then closes her eyes and lets out a deep sigh. Seeing her like this, calm and relaxed, I can't help but smile and relax.

"No problem, Sharena." I then gently take hold of her hand in my lap, and rest there with her, for as long as it takes.

Alright, there's another part for the One-Shot book. Sorry that this one was delayed, it was meant to come out in February to coincide with the two year anniversary of Fire Emblem Heroes, but stuff came up and I got a bit lazy. Anyways the past is the past and it is up no, so no used dwelling on things. I had originally thought about just doing some random Fire Emblem character, but since it was meant to tie in with the big event for Heroes, I decided to just go with Sharena so that it ties in better. Yeah I could have done Fjorm or Eir, but Sharena was the first free princess waifu that they game gave you, so I decided to go with the original. Plus I figured this would also tie in better with the current events of Heroes' story mode. Anyways, enough behind the scenes stuff for now. Be on the lookout for some more stories soon, so I hope you not only liked this, but will also like what is to come. Now have a great day/night depending on when/where you are reading this.
