Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon. If I did, I would have kept Pokemon Contests in the game as a side thing for players to do and I would even tried to give the Contests their own little mini story arc to help make them more interesting, mostly because its a nice break from Pokemon battles every now and again.

(Y/N)'s POV

"And that should do it." I proudly say out loud as I step back and look around my secret base. Got some nice, comfy chairs in different spots of the room, all on top of a Stunfisk carpet that I got for a steal. Even got some music coming from the jukebox in the back corner of the room. Alright, it seems like I have a nice home away from home.

"Hey, (Y/N)! I'm here!" Oh, just in time. I'll have to pat myself on the back later for that.

"Come on in May, door's open." I move over to the lazy boy in the room as my old friend comes walking in. May seems to be mixing things up with her outfits, since she's got a red bow on her head instead of one of her usual bandanas. My brunette friend gives me a happy wave before she turns around to close the door so that no one else can get in. Oh it seems she's changed out her usual top for a red sleeveless shirt. It looks good on her. My rival then turns around and runs towards me before she jumps to the right of me and lands on a large Snorlax shaped bean bag chair. She lets out a loud laugh as I roll my eyes.

"Do you have to do that every time I have that chair out?" May takes the opportunity to get all comfortable on the bean bag before addressing my question.

"Yes." Her face has a very large and very mischievous grin as she answers.

"Why though?"

"To make you ask." May's grin turns back into happy laughter. With how hard she's laughing I can't help but smile and chuckle along with the pokemon trainer.

"Oh come on, really?" May then nods as she tries to get her laughter under control.

"Yeah pretty much." She says once she's done, "Plus you don't seem to mind that much, otherwise you wouldn't keep putting the chair out for me." I go to respond but only silence seems to come out. After a few minutes of thinking I then slump over in my seat.

"Alright you got me there." May's grin comes back.

"Yes!" She then moves closer to me on the chair until she is now laying on her stomach. She's lucky the bean bag is so big. Then again, what's the point of basing the chair off of a Snorlax if its not going to be big. With her head now resting on her hands she then teasingly asks, "What do I win?"

"Some money?" She shakes her head at that, "Contest advise?" She repeats the same motion, "A pokemon battle?" Again, she shakes her head no, "Wait, you don't want a pokemon battle?" She giggles at my bewilderment.

"Nah, I want a date."

"A date?" She nods her head.

"Yep! I want to go to Lilycove and you have to stay with me all day." Lilycove? Well I suppose there are worse places to go. They got a Museum, a Contest Hall, and a few other places. Plus there's a beach, so that's always a good spot to go.

"Alright, I guess we're going to Lilycove." As I put my hands on the armrests to get up, May moves back to her original sitting position.

"Not now (Y/N). We can do that tomorrow. Right now, I just want to rest." She then wiggles a little in her chair before leaning her head back.

"Oh okay then." As I get comfortable myself a question then pops into mind, "Hey, is that why you wanted to hangout? To relax and then go on a date."

"Yeah, I'm a bit tired of sleeping outside or at my parents' place, so I called you."

"Oh alright, but don't you know anyone who has a normal house and not a secret base?" May then moves her head up to look at me with one eye open.

"(Y/N), are you implying that you don't want to hang out with me?" She then lays her head back down with her hand over her heart, "Oh (Y/N) you wound me so!" I know she's joking but I shake my hands as I hold my hands up in defense.

"No, I don't mean that. I'm just asking." She chuckles a little and moves her arm back to its normal spot.

"I know, I know. Yeah, I know a few other people who have their own secret bases and some who have their own houses." She then seems to relax more in the big chair before continuing, "But I don't trust any of them as much as I trust you nor do I want to date any of them." I feel my face heat up some as I process her words. Did she just confess that she likes me? Before I can as, I hear her let out a soft sigh before her breathing slows down. Wow, she must have really been tired. Oh well, guess I'll just have to ask her later. As I sit silently in my chair and listen to the music in the background and May's soft breathing, a yawn forces its way out my mouth. After its left I notice my eyes are now really droopy. I glance over at May to see that she's still just sleeping on the Snorlax, which causes me to chuckle. Oh well, might as well take a nap too.

"Sleep tight May." I try to keep my words barely above a whisper so that I don't disturb my friend before I soon join her in a nice sleep.

I based the reader off of Ruby from the Adventure's manga just to mix it up a little from the usual thing I do. Since I did that I thought I would base May a little off of Sapphire from the same manga.
