Buliara (Legend of Zelda) X Reader

Disclaimer: I don't own the Legend of Zelda series. If I did then I would have added some DLC that allows you to upgrade all of the other Champions' weapons so that they were stronger or had some unique quirks to them.

(Y/N)'s POV

With barely an inch between me and the claymore, I narrowly manage to bend back and avoid my opponent's strike. Though unfortunately when I stand back up I am greeted by a fist to the face. The punch had enough force in it to knock me back a few feet, but once my back hits the ground I use the momentum to roll backwards and get back on my feet. Thankfully my opponent isn't pursuing me just yet allowing, me a chance to breathe.

"You've improved, little voe." Buliara says with a smirk, "Seems you have been busy on your mission." The redhead straightens up and stabs her weapon into the ground Despite the Gerudo's confidence, I can see the extra sweat rolling down her skin and that she is breathing heavier than usual, "But that won't help you much. Especially after that little mistake."

"Getting a bit cocky, Buliara?" The warrior answers with a quick lunge forward and a downward diagonal swipe with her blade. Quickly, I lift my Royal Shield up, making the Gerudo's Golden Claymore scrape across the shield. For any other opponent, the momentum and interruption of the swing would've sent her stumbling, but Buliara isn't the average warrior. Otherwise she wouldn't be the personal bodyguard of Riju. Instead of stumbling, the Gerudo warrior quickly stamps her left foot on the ground, firmly planting herself in place. Thankfully I predict her next move, a follow up swipe to the side, which I block with my shield. Quickly, I use the change to move behind her and back slash her armor. Buliara grunts in pain and stumbles forward allowing me to rush her. I regret that decision she lets go of her blade with one hand and then elbows me right in the nose. A nice crunching sound can be heard as I fall back from the hit.

"No, but you are." She confidently says as she turns around. Buliara then plants her claymore in the dirt. I then grab a hold of my nose in some vain attempt at fighting the pain.

"Fair enough." She laughs at my attempt to snark despite the pain. The warrior then walks over to me and extends her hand.

"Come, little voe, I think we've practiced enough for today." Once she finishes, I give a nod before taking her hand. As she helps me up, my joints pop, earning a groan from me and a chuckle from Buliara.

"Yeah that's another round for you." Buliara chuckles again as she nods.

"Yes I believe that's seven I've won." As we talk, I let go of her hand and brush myself off and she stands with her hands on the hilt of her weapon, "You need to pick up the pace, little voe. Soon you'll never catch up with me." My eyes roll at that and as check over my weapons and put them away, I retort.

"I've won four matches, so don't get so high and mighty just yet." She scoffs as I finish and straighten up. "I can still catch up."

"Well no one can say that you aren't optimistic." The redhead then puts her claymore on her back, "Now let's go get some Noble Pursuit. You're buying, of course." Once she finishes, Buliara starts walking away from me. I recoil a little before then jogging to catch up with her.

"Hey you know I can't get into the town." She gives my a side glance with a smirk.

"Well there is one way." Oh Hylia.

"No." Buliara starts laughing at my response, "I'm not wearing that again, Buliara."

"Oh come now, you look so cute in that outfit, little voe." Her smile then grows as she gets a devious look, "Or should I say, little vai." She goes straight back to laughing as I groan in frustration.

"No." Soon she stops and manages to speak.

"Okay, okay, I understand." Buliara then gives a more normal smile, "In truth I wasn't talking about the canteen back in town." I raise an at eyebrow that as she continues, "Thanks to you and your help with Furosa, she's actually expanded her business. The first place she went was Kara Kara Bazaar." I give her a surprised look as she nods in response.

"Really? How long has that been?"

"It's been a while. A lot has happened while you were on your mission."

"Yeah I'll say." I look off to the side but look back at her when she rests a hand on the back of my neck.

"No need to look so down, little voe. We have time to catch you up." She has a warmer smile on her face, though its easy to tell she's not used to the more heartfelt moments. Nonetheless its still a nice gesture. "Though I don't know if we have enough time for you to catch up with me." The nice smile turns into a smug grin as I roll my eyes again.

"How about instead of boasting, you put your money where its mouth is?" She raises her head a little and looks down her nose at me.

"Oh? What do you have in mind?"

"Drinking contest." She laughs and then playfully hits the back of my shoulder.

"You're on, little voe. I'll drink you under the table." We both give each other a determined look as we walk through the sands to the Bazaar.

So one of my original goals when it came to writing, especially with these One-Shots, was to show some more love to some lesser known and less popular characters. Heck that's why Raven was my first story and why I wrote a Lisa Lavender one-shot. I noticed I kinda strayed a little from that so here's a character I doubt many were expecting. Hope it was a pleasant surprise and I promise to try and keep the character choices for these interesting. Well except for when I have a request, then that's basically whatever the requester asks for. With that I hope you have a great day/night depending on when/where you are reading this.
