Sesshomaru and Rin

One-shot 5:

Rin pushed the dark green comb through her hair, setting it into place so that a long, silky strand fell over her shoulder.

Sighing, she tried to still the many butterflies in her stomach.

Lord Sesshomaru would be coming to get her any moment now.

It had been nine long years since the demon, who'd protected her, had left her in Kaede's care.

"Rin!"

Rin turned around to see Kagome and a wide smile lit up her face, "Kagome!"

Kagome rushed over, "Everything alright?"

The beautiful woman Rin had grown into nodded, a slight shiver causing Kagome to frown.

"Yes. I'm just waiting," Another cheerful smile and Kagome only nodded at Rin.

"Alright, Rin... If you say so... Brother shouldn't be long... It's been a while since he last visited, huh?"

Rin nodded, the nervousness increasing at the thought of seeing Sesshomaru again.

A rustle behind her made the pretty girl jump.

"Inuyasha!!" Kagome chided as the half-demon came through the bushes.

Inuyasha looked surprised, "What?"

"You scared Rin."

"Oh well, pardon me for walking."

Rin bit her lip to keep from laughing, a hand beginning to play with a strand of her long, dark hair.

"Is he still going to be coming?"

Rin looked up when Inuyasha directed his question to her.

"Yes," Rin nodded, her fear slowly evaporating as she stood with the two people she had spent most of her time with for the past several years, "Lord Sesshomaru will be here soon."

Inuyasha huffed, "As long as he doesn't want anything to eat."

"Inuyasha!!"

"What? You want him to stick around here longer?"

"You don't even know why he's coming!"

Rin struggled to keep from giggling at the banter that had already begun between the couple.

"Why's he coming anyway?"

Rin looked up again as Inuyasha addressed her.

"I don't know... Mother said that he'd be visiting today... It's been so long though..."

"Stupid old hag..."

"How is Kaede to blame?" Kagome sighed.

"She planned this for sure."

"Don't be stupid, Inuyasha."

"I know how that evil lady works. She'd definit-"

Rin and Kagome waited for Inuyasha to finish his sentence but the half-demon had stopped talking, a scowl working into his face, "He's here."

The girls gave each other wide-eyed stares, finally letting their nervousness show.

Inuyasha didn't smile, "You know that any dog can smell your fear from miles away, right?"

Rin and Kagome giggled nervously, "Oh?"

The half-demon rolled his eyes, "He'll be here in a second. That stupid scent is torturing my sensitive nose..."

Rin watched as Kagome gave Inuyasha a playful slap on the shoulder.

The golden-eyed man gave her a growl as he smirked, his fingers scratching at his nose.

The wind shifted and Rin looked up.

A sliver of silvery-white hair waved in the wind as the demon lord moved through the air, his speed and overall majestic appearance just as she remembered.

Landing a few paces in front of her, he looked up, golden eyes locking with her light brown ones.

Rin swallowed as he walked toward her, his tall, lithe body towering over her as the demon reached the young girl with a few long strides.

"Rin, it has been a while."

The girl smiled up at the young lord, "Yes, Lord Sesshomaru."

Sesshomaru continued to watch her, making her fingers twitch to begin fiddling with the exquisite comb in her silky, long hair.

Inuyasha coughed.

Sesshomaru looked up as though just noticing the half-demon and his wife.

"Inuyasha." He acknowledged.

"Why're you here? It's been a while anyway."

"Inuyasha..."

Sesshomaru didn't even look at Kagome who tried to silence Inuyasha's tone.

"I've come to check on Rin," Sesshomaru's long fingers moved to touch the comb he'd given her a few years ago, "Which is why I fail to understand why you and your priestess lady are here."

Inuyasha smirked, "Yeah? Where did this concern go all this time?"

The young lord paused in his actions when he noticed Rin's discomfort, "It is appealing to see that you look well, Rin."

Rin smiled up at Sesshomaru, for the first time recognizing his scent to be masculine, "Thank you, Lord Sesshomaru."

"Hey," Inuyasha was getting impatient, "Don't just ignore what I just asked you!"

"It seems you have grown to be a fine lady. Kaede has taken good care of you."

He watched as a slight blush spread across her soft cheeks, "Yes. Mother is good to me."

A flicker of surprise showed in his eyes as he noted how her eununciation and language had changed and grown as she had. Lovely features and perfect expressions had added to the wonderful way her body had transformed making her a truly mesmerizing woman.

"It was a good question too!" Inuyasha was complaining to Kagome.

The scent of Inuyasha's wife showed distinct channels into attraction as the woman giggled.

Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes.

Had Rin spent time around people with absolutely no control?

Thinking of the other monk and his woman, the young lord nearly shuddered.

"So, anyway," Sesshomaru looked up to see Inuyasha beginning to talk again, "She's fine now. You can leave already."

"That is rude, Inuyasha."

"I will not be staying long. I assure you." Sesshomaru looked back down to see Rin staring up at him with large eyes.

For some reason, he couldn't bring up the image of the girl as a child though his memory was a lot sharper than a normal demon or human's.

"Good," Inuyasha huffed under his breath, "I want my fish for dinner, thank you."

There was a slight twitch of Sesshomaru's mouth.

Rin stared up at him as though knowing him to be amused before she looked away.

Sesshomaru was unsure of how to respond to the girl's scent showing attraction and happiness.

It certainly flattered him and the demon lord could not help the sense of satisfaction and thrill.

"Why don't you come see Kaede, brother?"

The young demon looked up to catch Kagome's big smile.

"Of course. I need to express my gratitude."

Inuyasha muttered something about dinner not being too far away.

The group began to move toward the village.

Sesshomaru could almost smell their fear and distrust.

He was a demon after all.

Rin skipped along behind him, stopping to walk like a proper woman every time he seemed to glance over.

Kagome and Inuyasha led the way, looking at home with the way they lived their lives.

"Inuyasha."

"Yeah?" The demon's brother turned to him as they walked.

"I will be taking Rin with me. Don't bother preparing food for her dinner."

"WHAT?!"

Sesshomaru's expression didn't change as he watched Kagome and Inuyasha gape at him.

"I will be taking Rin with me."

Inuyasha's mouth looked like it wanted to say something.

Sesshomaru glanced back at Rin who seemed surprised.

He waited for the little thing to process what had been said.

Emotions played across her beautiful face as her scent showed a range of fluctuations from fear to excitement to love to grief.

"Is that alright with you, Rin?"

She blinked up at him, "Yes, my lord."

"W-Wai- No, you can't!"

Sesshomaru turned to see Inuyasha had finally gained his ability to speak.

Unfortunate for the ones around him.

His woman stood by him. She looked as though, heaven forbid, she might begin to cry.

There was a sliver of irritation under Sesshomaru's tone, "I will do as I please, little brother."

Inuyasha bared his fangs, "You can't take Rin."

Sesshomaru shot him a glare.

Inuyasha swallowed, "A- W- Fine... Just... Just visit often or something."

The amount of sadness spilling through Inuyasha's tone surprised Sesshomaru.

Kagome sniffed, "C-Could you just please stay a little longer then, brother?"

Sesshomaru turned his attention to her.

Their scents had changed drastically.

The demon's heightened sense of smell picked up distinct tones of sorrow.

"I must decli-" The lord paused when Rin sniffed softly, "I believe Rin and I will stay a little longer. Maybe till dinner."

Inuyasha didn't meet his brother's eyes, "Come on, Rin... You can help me and Kagome get the fish..."

Rin moved past Sesshomaru happily before pausing to look up at him, as though asking for permission.

Sesshomaru nodded slightly, greatly pleased by the way she stayed in submission.

Rin would enjoy time with her companions.

He would spend a lot of time with her later.

Looking around at the forest with it's different scents and colors, Sesshomaru considered.

Visiting often didn't seem like a bad idea.
