One-Shot 12

Lucy sighed as she sat back against a tree, her feet aching from all the training her and her lovely Vaporeon had been doing.

It didn't help at all that Aquarius always butted in about not being worth summoned.

In the distance, she could hear Natsu roaring away with his Charizard.

She sighed again.

That kid was bound to go around and challenge someone again.

It didn't seem to matter to him at all that the last time he had done that, he had burnt down the guild hall and had earned himself Master's absolute and fearsome wrath.

It had been a Charizard vs. Glaceon battle and both Gray and Natsu had lost.

Lucy smiled to herself.

Glaceon was a true beauty and was one of Gray's most prized possessions.

"Lucyyy!!"

Lucy jolted up at Juvia's anguished cry, "Juvia?"

The water mage ran up to her with her poweful Staryu and Starmie, "Something's wrong... Juvia's Gray has gone missing!"

"You sure he didn't just leave you behind again?" Lucy sighed.

Juvia shook her pretty head, "No! Juvia is certain her precious Gray has been kidnapped!!"

Lucy held back saying that no one would want the man as much as Juvia did.

"Alright, alright, I'll help you look for him..."

Juvia looked to be near tears, "Juvia is grateful, Lucy! Erza and the others have also started looking for Gray!!"

The blond blinked, "Wait, it's that serious?"

Nodding, Juvia looked like she would burst into tears any moment, "Don't you remember that challenge letter Gray got only last night?"

Lucy tilted her head to the side, "What challenge letter?"

"Heads up!!"

Lucy and Juvia jumped out of the way just as a zap of lightning incinerated the patch of grass they'd been standing on moments before.

They looked up to see Laxus stare down from on top of his Zapdos with a slightly sorry expression, "My bad..."

The girls blinked.

"Laxus!" Juvia yelled up at him, "Gray is missing!! Could it be that Laxus has seen him? Juvia thinks he might be kidnapped!"

The lightning dragon-slayer grunted in amusement, "No one wants that punk more than you do."

Juvia's face flushed, when she gave the command for her Pokemon to attack.

The water mage turned to Lucy with sparkly, happy eyes, "That made Juvia feel so happy, Lucy!"

"WHY THE HELL'D YOU ATTACK THEN?!" Laxus bellowed as he dodged the jets of water coming at him, "DON'T MAKE ME ZAP YOU!!"

"Heyyyyyy!!"

Lucy wanted to throw her hands up in surrender when she saw Natsu fly over on his charizard with Happy.

"What's up? You guys battlin' or something?"

"No, Natsu, w-"

"Natsu!" Juvia wailed, "Gray's missing and Juvia is now extremely worried."

"Stripper's gone missing?" Natsu threw his head back to laugh.

Lucy sighed as Vaporeon gave her a confused look.

Typical Natsu reaction.

There was nothing anyone could do about it.

It was as Lucy watched her friends continue interacting that Erza walked up to the group to confirm what she knew.

"Gray has been captured. We suspect Phantom Lord but we could be wrong..."

Lucy and the others glanced at each other in surprise, "But why?"

"Why would they take Juvia's Gray from her?"

Lucy tried to hear past Juvia's wailing tears.

Erza spoke choosing her words carefully, "They wanted to do the mission... That would be my only guess..."

The group stayed quiet for a few minutes before nodding.

"So now we need to go find Ice Princess?"

Erza shook her head, "No."

Lucy and the others blinked once, "WHAT?"

The re-equip mage smiled, "Did you really think Gray Fullbuster couldn't handle the group by himself? He called only a few moments ago to say that an unknown group had made the mistake of capturing him and that now, he is on his way back with a new treasure..."

Lucy, Natsu and Laxus perked up, "Treasure?"

Juvia perked up as well, "Gray is on his way here?"

Erza only smiled again.

Lucy looked over at Juvia to smile before a cool breeze flew past, making her shiver.

Laxus swallowed and Natsu straightened.

The wind around them changed, the air getting colder.

The mages glanced at each other before a sound like that of a wind caught their attention.

Gray jumped off a Pokemon with a smirk.

Flying right above him was the legendary Pokemon Articuno.

It's beautiful wings spread a large expanse on each side, its voice stilled the Fairy Tail members in their tracks as a gust of wind caused them all to shiver.

"You won't believe where this baby's been hiding."

Lucy blinked before glancing down at Gray's voice.

He smirked at his guild-mates, "Phantom Lord had it under lock and key but then I was there too. It took me only a few seconds to free this thing and pulverize the punks!"

Lucy couldn't find her voice till she heard Natsu shout, "Whoa, Charizard and me vs. that ice birdy and you, How does that sound to ya, Gray?"

Gray smirked as he fingered the bracelet around his hand, "Perfect. Bet we'll freeze to death."

Natsu was already on top of Charizard, "Not before we fry ya!"

Lucy blinked before she realized just how dangerous the fight would turn out, "Natsu, do-"

Erza and Laxus tackled Juvia and Lucy to the ground as the first wave of attack hit Articuno.

The Pokemon let the flames burn away at the shell of ice it had created only a few moments before before reacting to Gray's command with a gust of icy wind.

Charizard flew straight threw the breeze that could have frozen an entire forest.

The fire breathing Pokemon's roar shook the guild hall as it barelled toward the legendary ice Pokemon, its body turning steel hard with the speed, getting ready for a body slam.

Lucy shivered as the impact sent waves upon waves of tremors through the air.

"Get to the guild hall," Erza released her Blaziken before re-equipping herself.

"And stay there." Laxus called Zapdos to his side, lightning crackling around him.

Lucy found herself nodding with Juvia before scrambling away to the guild hall, flashes of lightning and thunder behind them.

When this fight was over, there would be a lot of cleaning up to do.
