Jordan's Letter:
My move to Canada was excruciatingly painful honestly. Not only did Air Canada lose a very important box of mine, but my flight was postponed for almost half a day. Nevertheless, I am here now and it's a very weird change. There's snow! It's like the polar opposite of LA. Snow, people who are actually nice to me, Tim Hortons on every corner instead of McDonalds. I haven't been here long enough decide if it's better than LA but it's definitely a change. That's what I wanted, right? Honestly, I don't know. I wanted change, so I spontaneously bought a ticket to Canada with no return. What am I doing, you may ask? Well, I'm trying out a different lifestyle. I've always been a person who plans and this is so weird to me. Sitting in my hotel room in Toronto, hours away from the home I've spent my whole life in. I think I'm going to leave it off here. Speak to you soon.
Love, Jordan
Jordan signed his letter and folded the paper in half, stuffing it into the white envelope. He grabbed the water bottle that was sitting next to him and put a water droplet onto the sticky part of the envelope. With his pointer finger, Jordan sealed the envelope, wrote the address on it and dropped it into his backpack. He got up, pulling the green basketball shorts down and adjusting the black shirt on his shoulders.
"I need warmer clothes" he spoke to the seemingly empty hotel room. Jordan caught a glimpse of the outside where a white blanket of snow was coming down constantly. With a heavy sigh, he grabbed a pair of jeans from the closet and a purple Twitch hoodie. The man threw the hoodie on top of his existing shirt traded his shorts for the jeans. With a swift motion, he swung the backpack around his shoulder and left the hotel room. Jordan trudged through the snowed in city, full of sky rises and people who are running to their destination. Jordan didn't have a particular destination, but he wanted to find a post office so he could mail the letter that he just wrote.
He made a sharp right turn to be presented with a giant open space with trees, benches and, again, a lot of snow. Pigeons danced around an old man on a bench who was throwing bread crumbs on the ground.
Jordan's POV:
I froze in silence, standing at the entrance to the park. I was stunned by the fact that there was such a serene atmosphere among sky rises and a bustling city. I started walking onward, taking small steps in the deep snow and ended up stopping right in front of the old man. He raised his head, his pale blue eyes piercing the air.
"You're new around here aren't you son?" he said slowly with a deep tone in his voice.
I nodded my head, my mouth hanging open a little bit.
"In case you were wondering how I knew" he got up and extended his hand to me. I shook it hesitantly and smiled, receiving a warm smile in return.
"People don't come around this park. It's weird, really, it's quite beautiful here. And quiet. I come here everyday and the only people that I see are tourists or new people to the town. What are you looking for son?" he looked to the sky.
"A postoffice?" I stated questioningly.
He extended his bony arm forward and said two blocks. I nodded and quickly escaped the presence of the eerie man. Two blocks of walking later, I arrive at the post office, mail my letter and walk another block forward. It's getting to be evening now so I walk into a small restaurant. At least, I try to. Right where I open the door, a woman about my age bursts through and crashes into me, sending both of us to the ground. She groans, gets up while rubbing her head and extends a helping hand to me.
"I'm sorry" she says, still rubbing her forehead. I myself felt the shooting pain in my own forehead.
"It's okay" I glanced at her, getting up. She was a beautiful woman. She was much shorter than me, had brown hair with purple tips (#BleedPurple). She was wearing a large black coat with a fur lining, a grey beanie and black boots that went up to her knees. Her hazel green eyes stared into mine and it felt like the world stopped around us.
"I'm Jordan" I say awkwardly, shaking the snow off my butt.
She chuckles and sticks out her hand for me to shake.
"Sonja. Nice to meet you" she says, her voice ringing through the frozen air.
"Do you want to get coffee, mysterious falling stranger?" I laughed.
"I would love to Jordan" she tucked a spare piece of hair behind her ear.
We walked to the nearest Starbucks.
"Thank God you know your way around because I don't even know where my hotel is" I chuckled.
"Are you new around here?" she turned her head to me.
"Arrived early this morning" I nodded.
"From where?"
"Los Angeles, California"
She nodded her head and quickened pace.
"I've been there, it's pretty nice"
"I needed a change of scenery and something spontaneous. I don't think I'm going to stay for long" I picked at my finger.
"I've always wanted to move there honestly. I'm a big fan of warm weather. Maybe I'll move back with you" she chuckled at the witty remark.
"Maybe"
The rest of the way was walked in silence. We got coffees and then she invited me back to her house. I agreed eagerly, as it was nighttime and I had no idea where my hotel was.
"So Jordan, what do you do?" Sonja asked, her voice bright and airy in the empty apartment. Snow was falling outside, leaving dirty traces along the window glass.
"I'm a YouTuber" I took a sip of my coffee and cringed from the absence of sugar.
"You're kidding!" My new friend exclaimed putting her drink on the coffee table next to the couch. I shook my head no and watched her eyes light up.
"What a coincidence. I am too!" She clapped her hands.
"I hold a night job too though because just YouTube is not enough. It's not bad. I love it. Also Twitch helps" she said quickly, seemingly not taking a breath between sentences. I kept nodding at her remarks about her jobs and I caught myself on the thought of how similar we were.
"So I know that you said you've been to LA. Is that for conventions or another reason?" I asked Sonja. Her eyebrows inched together as if she was deep in thought about her next sentence.
"I used to have a boyfriend in LA but it didn't work out. Now I just travel for conventions" she said, her voice darker then before.
"Oh, I'm sorry" I said, instantly regretting the question I asked. It obviously brought up unpleasant memories.
She shook her head and changed the topic. We chatted about work, life and asked each other questions for three hours.
"I didn't mean to keep you up this late Sonja, I should go" I said after witnessing her yawn four times in a row.
She waved her hand.
"Oh no, it's nothing! I had a great time" she said and yawned again, her eyes closing.
"Do you know your way back to the hotel?" Her drowsy voice echoed through the cozy room.
"No" I said guiltily, not wanting to admit that if our conversation stops I would be lost in the streets of Toronto for the whole night.
"I can drive you back, just look up your hotel on my phone and give me the address. I know your phone is dead" she said, smiling, and grabbing her iPhone 5S from the table and handing it to me.
I typed in Google the name of my hotel and hit enter. Soon enough, I had copy and pasted the address into her maps app and we were ready to go.
"Here you go" I extended my arm. Nobody took it. I looked up only to see Sonja curled up in a ball on the farther end of the couch, her chest riding and dropping at a steady pace. She was asleep. I looked at her slender figure and questioned my motives. I had arrived in Toronto less then 24 hours ago and was already sitting at some girls apartment when it was almost midnight. That sounded really bad to me. However, in reality I did not really care. I was having a great time and it looked like she was too. I shook Sonja's shoulder. She awoke with a gasp sitting up suddenly.
"How about that hotel drive? I wouldn't want to fall asleep on your couch also" I said, trying to crack a joke.
She chuckled, getting up and rubbing her eyes.
"I wouldn't mind" Sonja said, taking the phone with the directions from my hand. Our fingers touched slightly, making both of us pause and hold our breathes. I cleared my that making Sonja jump up and jog to the front door. I followed her closely to the car that was parked on the street next to her apartment, dimly lit by yellow lights.
The drive to my hotel was silent and it was blankly obvious how tired my driver was.
"Here it is" she pulled up to the entrance and faced me.
"Thank you for making me feel welcome in a completely new city" I said, opening the door to the car to get out but I felt a small hand on my shoulder, making me whip my head around. I was pulled into a tight hug that lasted about fifteen seconds but was the best hug I had ever gotten.
"No, thank you" she said, grinning, her tired look wiped from her face.
I got out the car, smiling to myself and turned around telling her one final sentence before walking away.
"I put my phone number and Skype into your phone. Call or text me some time"
Sonja's POV:
I woke up, stretching my tired limbs, the lack of sleep hitting me like a brick. I had the best time yesterday though, so it's okay. Speaking of yesterday. I grabbed the phone from under my pillow and scrolled through my contact list, one name catching my attention.
That guy you talked to for six hours
I grinned at the thought of yesterday, getting up and washing my face and brushing my teeth.
I poured myself a bowl of cereal and some orange juice and picked up my phone again clicking on the text icon.
Its the girl you talked to for six hours yesterday.
Jordan's POV:
My phone vibrated in my hands, a text message from an unknown number popping up. I clicked on the notification, weirded out.
Unknown: It's the girl you talked to for six hours yesterday.
I smiled and changed the name in my phone to Sonja Reid.
Jordan: Hello stranger.
Sonja: Since when are we strangers? ;-;
Jordan: Just kidding haha.
Sonja: Wanna meet up again? Yesterday was fun.
Jordan: Yes
Sonja: Good. Where?
Jordan: How about that little cafe near your house?
Sonja: Okay. Half hour.
Jordan: Deal
I nodded my head and locked my phone. I again, threw on a shirt, jeans, a YouTube sweatshirt, my signature Greg beanie and walked out into the cold. It took me twenty minutes of arduous trudging through the snowed in city to get to the small cafe. It smelled of freshly baked bread, pastry and coffee inside making me smile. I grabbed a table for two in the back and ordered two cappuccinos for Sonja and I. Just as the server left I heard the door bell jingle and the door close. I waved to Sonja who was shaking off the snow in her hair. She walked over, her boots clicking on the parquet.
"Hi" she said, out of breath.
"Hello and I ordered you a cappuccino" I said, getting up and sliding the chair out for her so she could sit.
"You're to kind" Sonja smiled in response.
We chatted for a w hike again, sipping our drinks and eating the pastries that we ordered. I really liked Sonja for her humor and personality. She was easy to talk to and was one of the nicest people I knew.
---Fast Forward Three Months---
I told myself I would stay in Canada for three months to see if I liked it. I didn't. It was cold, I didn't have friends, I didn't have a place to live not didn't I have anyone to love. I disliked everything, except for one thing. Sonja. I had developed quite a liking for her over the past three or so months. A liking that was more then a friend. We would see each other almost every day and we would text each other nonstop. I knew her almost better then I knew myself and I've also told her a lot of things about me and my life.

Jordan😍❤️: You know I'm leaving tomorrow right?
Sonj💜: Know it? Yes. Want it? No.
Jordan😍❤️: Honestly speaking, you're the only reason I don't want to leave.
Sonj💜: I hope that you know that I'm driving you to the airport and I expect you to sleep at my place today. I'm making the best of the next day.
Jordan😍❤️: Okay.

Sonja's POV:
Jordan's suitcases rattled in the trunk of my car as we made our way to international terminal of the airport.
I sighed, getting out of the car and helping Jordan grab his suitcases.
We got through security and I was sitting with him at the gate, silence laced all around us.
Boarding for flight 718 for Los Angeles, California is starting now at gate 16.
"I guess this is it" I stood with Jordan in front of the entrance to the plane, his ticket and passport in his hand.
"I guess it is. Promise to Skype me and text me as often as possible" he told me.
I felt tears brim my eyes. I have gotten attached to Jordan over his lengthy visit and now it was painful for me to let him go. Admittedly, I had even developed a small crush on him.
"I'm going to miss you" I let the tears fall, burying myself in Jordan's chest. I felt so safe and protected there. His arms snaked around my waste and his chin nuzzled into my shoulder. The hug lasted for a very long time, both of us not wanting to let go of what we held close.
"I'm going to miss you too" he said, after I let go.
Final call for the flight to Los Angeles, California leaving out of gate 16.
"You should go" my voice cracked as I clutched onto my sides.
"I should" he took a step backwards.
"Goodbye. Love you!" I said, not hiding the fact that my heart was breaking and tears for spilling out of my eyes.
"Bye. I love you too" he forced a smile, turning on his heels and handing the ticket to the stewardess.
I watched him disappear into the plane and I turned around to walk out of the airport, crying like there was no tomorrow. I would now be stuck in a cold, lonely country without Jordan and that made everything a thousand times worse. Suddenly, I heard running behind me so I turned around to see what the commotion was about. I saw Jordan running towards me at full speed, tears threatening to spill from his eyes. He ran into me, grabbing me with force and planting his lips on mine. The kiss was quick and sloppy but it was amazing. I sunk into it but then we pulled apart.
"I meant that I love you. More then anyone in the world" he said.
He kissed me again.
"You're going to miss your flight" I said, pulling away.
He nodded.
"Visit me" he ran towards the plane again.
"I love you" I screamed through the the airport.
"I love you too!" I saw him say and he disappeared into the plane, the door closing behind him.
I smiled to myself and ran out of the airport, to my car and drove home.
Jordan's POV:
I landed in sunny LA, smiling as the heat hit my face when I stepped out of the plane. I missed Sonja a lot already but I was happy to be home. Speaking of Sonja.
---
Jordan😍❤️: I landed <3
Sonj💜: How's the weather?
Jordan😍❤️: Hot.
Sonj💜: Did you have a good flight?
Jordan😍❤️: It would have been better with you.
Sonj💜: My apartment is super lonely without you. Skype me when you're settled down.
Jordan😍❤️: Okay.
---
I walked inside my dusty home, dragging in my beat up suitcases and dropping them on the floor. I walked to my recording room and plugged in my set up. I dusted off my desk, happy to be home.
Ring Ring Ring
"Hey!" I saw Sonja's face appear on my screen.
"I'm home!"
"I noticed"
"What's up?"
"A lot"
"Like what?"
"Check your email" Sonja said, before ending the Skype call. I was left hanging with nothing.
I logged into my email and amongst all the YouTube, Twitch and fan emails was one from Sonja, marked as important. I opened it and it was a forward if her confirmation to a flight. To Los Angeles. Tomorrow. I hit my desk in excitement and dialed her up on Skype again. She picked up instantly.
"It's a one way ticket to you" she smiled and I couldn't believe the words she was saying.
"You're moving to LA?"
She nodded her head and my amazement.
"Why?"
"Because of you"
"Oh my god. You're living with me" I made a statement.
She raised her eyebrows but then agreed.
----
The next morning I was driving to the airport to pick up Sonja.
She ran into my arms when she saw me.
"Worst 24 hours of my life" she said, kissing me.
"It was less then 24 hours" I laughed and revived a playful slap in the face for that remark.
We loaded Sonja's equipment and suitcases into the trunk and drove off.
"This is going to be the absolute best time of our lives" Sonja said as she walked into our apartment, hand in hand with me.
I chuckled at her excitement then spun her around and kissed her.
This girl was the one.
