Unnerving- Noochless
Before u read. I made this and wanted to base Matt off it. Though it wasn't originally Matt I think the hair looks like an emo version of him.
Publishing more of my unfinished works ahhhhh
The sound of a metal shovel wedging it's self between a slab of damp dirt echoes off the headstones that marked the resting place of the dead. Some were crumbling, others looked brand new but, none the less a body of the dead lay underneath each and every headstone.
Fog swirled a crawled, its gaseous fingers curling around blades of grass and weaving its way in between the headstones. The sound of metal on dirt stopped for a moment. Coughing broke the moment of silence. A slim figure rested its tired body on the handle of the shovel.
The person seemed at be at the age of 19. The male wore a dark blue beanie and a hoodie to match with a white under shirt. Pre-ripped jeans hung loosely around his ankles with sneakers on his feet. He took a deep breath before continuing to dig.
-FlashBack-
"Another suicide?!" The brunet asked, clearly surprised. "This is the fifth one in the past three days!" The teen sighed.
"This one was quite odd. The family didn't tell me much. I wouldn't blame them. It seemed like they were... How do I put this... Happy? That he was gone." The blond shivered.
"Happy? That is really odd... Did you get the guy's name at least?" The brunet slapped him self for asking such a stupid question.
"Rob. I have to carve the headstone. Of course I got the name." The teen rolled his eyes.
"Yeah yeah. I realized that after. But what's his name Kenny?" Rob asked.
"I've never seen so interested in our customers. But I can see why. His name is Mathew Nooch." Kenny said, sorting through his box looking for a photo of him.
"He looks like this. It's an odd photo for sure but they said it's the only recent one of him. They want you to set it in the coffin with him." Kenny hands over the paper.
"Okay. Thanks!" Rob walked off to chat with the family. They were to choose a spot to lay his body.
The family consisted of a Mother, Father, and a son. "I am sorry for your guys's loss. The most I can do now is find the best place for them to rest." Rob said in a sad tone.
As Rob led them to the cemetery he wondered why he felt like he knew Mathew.
"I think Mat would like this area." The father pointed a place under the creepiest tree in the cemetery.
Rob remembered hearing that the tree grew out of the scattered ashes of a young girl. The family wanted some of her ashes scattered over the area. The tree always gave him the creeps and it looked like skeletal limbs in the night.
"Mat always enjoyed that sort of thing." The brother laughed nervously.
"So here?" Rob asked.
"Yes please." The mother smiled.
"Okay." Rob began laying out a box.
The back of the photo had the coffin's dimensions. Speaking of which Rob hadn't looked at the picture of Mat yet. So once the family left he looked at the image.
Mat had curly black hair, pale skin, dark pink lips which were stretched into a creepy smile. His eyes were mostly hidden by his hair. He could only see part of one which was a dark blue. He wore a maroon hoodie. His head was cocked to the side slightly. The whole thing was quite unsettling.
-FlashBack Over-
With his job done Rob washed up and headed home. He couldn't get Mat out of his mind. The whole drive home. All until he fell asleep. Why did he look so familiar. Did he hear the name before? Mat looked his age... Maybe he went to school with him before? Rob fell asleep unable to stop thinking of Mat.

After the funeral Rob buried the coffin and sprinkled grass seed over the dirt. The headstone stood straight and seemed to stand out amongst the rest. Rob worked late that night and before he left he went out to the grave and sprinkled some flower seeds into the soil as well.
The brunet turned the leave when something grabbed his shoulder. "Don't go." The voice begged. It seemed to echo off of nothing. Rob froze in his place. His eyes grew wide. "K-Kenny. This isn't a funny joke." Rob laughed nervously. This had to be one of Kenny's friends.
"Kenny? Who's that?" They voice asked. "Is he nice?" It asked. Rob took a deep breath. "Just let me go home... Please." His voice shook. "Don't leave me again." It cried as Rob pried the hand off his shoulder and began to run. He froze in his tracks. Again?
"I'm tired of being left alone. I'm tired of being feared. I'm not that scary am I? Is that why people where so uneasy around me? You'd know. You always know." It sounded a bit angry at the end.
Rob turned around despite his fears. He was met face to face with the teen in the photos. "You did know all my secrets Rob. Do you remember?" Mat asked. Rob shook his head. Mat's movements as he backed away from Rob were cautious. Like if he were to take too big of a step back he would fall into a hole.
"More like you don't want to." Mat's unsettling grin became a frown. "You hated me so much you wanted to forget I ever existed?" Mat cocked his head to the right. "I'm surprised you were able to forget. You were my only friend when I was younger. "I'll always be there for you. I'll never hate you!" You would tell me. It's funny because that's the exact opposite of what you did after I told you." Mat moved his hair a bit. Mat's eyes where two different shades of blue. They showed no emotion.
"You sent your friends after me. They jumped me one day after high school about 8 years after I told you what I was. I was already broken before hand. Why did you want to break me more?" Mat eye's changed from a stone cold to a fiery anger.
"Why. Why'd you do it?" Mat hissed, venom lacing his voice. "You better remember this. The pain you caused me." Tears began to fall from his eyes. His lips curled into that unsettling smile again.
"I'm sorry. I don't remember it. I don't remember anything from high school other than what the teachers taught me." Rob sighed. "What did I do exactly?" Rob's face paled. "Why did I do it?" Rob asked. "I'm willing to listen all night if it means I can remember what I did to you. If it means I can try to atone for what I did." Rob said. "Bring me to your house. You will look crazy sitting in a cemetery." Mat said.
Rob headed home. Mat walking over to the TV. "I can transfer my memories onto a screen. I can show you a small fraction of how you and your friends treated me in my senior year. Then I can show you how you reacted in fourth grade." Mat grinned. "Let my memories haunt yours." Mat laughed.
-FlashBack-
Mat sighed as he walked into the school yard. His raven hair covering his eyes. "What's up freak." A voice growled in his ear. A hand grabbed Mat's shoulder and spun him around. Mat ducked barely avoiding a punch to the face. Mat didn't avoid the kick to the gut.
Someone ran up from behind Mat and yanked his hair. Mat turned around to be greeted by the face of
