Resting in Peace. (Asuna X Reader)

By the time I was your age, I'd give anything To fall in love truly, was all I could think That's when I met your mother, the girl of my dreams The most beautiful woman, that I'd ever seen

I looked down at our son who we had adopted a few years before she left. "She had been the best thing that had happened to me. After Kirito left, I wasn't sure that I could love again, but she made me see a different way. She had been beautiful as her original avatar, but when we were all revealed as our true selves she had been even more beautiful. She was constantly by my side, cheering me on. She had at first seemed too ditzy to be able to do anything, so when she had decided to go off on her own for a while I was scared that my second in command wouldn't come back.

She said, "Girl, can I tell you a wonderful thing? I can't help but notice, you're staring at me. I know I shouldn't say this, but I really believe, I can tell by your eyes that you're in love with me." Now, son, I'm only telling you this
Because life can do terrible things.

"When she came back even stronger I couldn't help but to stare at her. She had changed, but she seemed to mature a little. But she often joked that I was in love with her. And after time I had come to realize I was.

Now, most of the time we'd have too much to drink And we'd laugh at the stars and we'd share everything Too young to notice, and too dumb to care Love was a story that couldn't compare.

"When we got back to the real world, we often would go out and drink together, and sit under the stars in the bed of her truck as we talked until we fell asleep

I said, "Girl, can I tell you a wonderful thing? I made you a present with paper and string. Open with care now, I'm asking you, please. You know that I love you, will you marry me?"

"I had been so nervous that one night, her birthday as I had given her my present. She had opened it confused in front of everyone. My parents her parents and all our friends, even Kirito was there. I had taken the box from her and knelt on my knee as I looked up into her beautiful (e/c) eyes. And I had said '(Y/N), can I tell you a wonderful thing? I made you a present with paper and string. Open with care now, I'm asking you, please. You know that I love you, will you marry me?'. Here comes the sad part. A year later she started to get really thin and we weren't sure why. Life can do terrible things when you least expect it and sometimes to the one you love most.

Now, son, I'm only telling you this
Because life can do terrible things You'll learn, one day, I'll hope and I'll pray, That God shows you differently. She said, "Girl can I tell you a terrible thing? It seems that I'm sick and I've only got weeks. Please, don't be sad now, I really believe, You were the greatest thing that ever happened to me."

"We had gone to the hospital to found out that she had cancer and was too far in to cure it. But I didn't know until I came into her room and she greeted me before she told me, 'Asuna, can I tell you a terrible thing? It seems that I've got cancer and I've only got weeks. Please, don't be sad now, I really believe, You were the greatest thing that ever happened to me'

Slow, so slow I fell to the ground on my knees.

"I had fallen to my knees as I cried and begged her to stay with me, not leaving me alone with you, who we had found on our doorstep the day after I proposed. Now don't get me wrong, we loved you dearly, but I didn't want her to leave me alone in the world."

So don't fall in love, there's just too much to lose If you're given the choice, then I beg you to choose To walk away, walk away, don't let her get you. I can't bear to see the same happen to you. Now, son, I'm only telling you this
Because life can do terrible things

I hugged Jake as tears rolled downy cheek "So please dear, if you ever fall in love, don't go. It'll ruin you. I know you are too old to listen to my speeches but please. If you have taken any thing from our meeting, don't fall in love."
"Don't worry mom, I won't." He told me. But the look in his eye told me he had.
"You've grown so big... You're nearly 40..." I said as I went into my room, knowing I wouldn't walk out. I was already 75, and my aching heart couldn't go on. As I laid in my bed I closed my eyes and wait.
"Asuna, love get up." Her voice. I sat up quickly. I looked at my hands, seeing that they weren't wrinkled anymore. I looked up at her. She was a teenager again. "You look the age that you first fell in love at." She said taking my hand.
"(Y-Y/N). I missed you." I pulled her into a hug. She laughed lightly and hugged me back.
"Come Asuna, let's go home." She said making me stand as she Lead me through a bright white light.

I was finally at peace with (Y/N)
