A Promise is a Promise

"Family, Luke. You promised." Those words tore at Luke's heart. Annabeth's voice.
Luke sat next to the lake, staring at his reflection.
He promised family. He had nearly killed it. He imagined what life could've been without him offering himself to Kronos.
Now, he was pathetic, just stirring around in Elysium. He should be trying for rebirth, starting over to be the hero he really was.
That was long in the past. Fifty years had gone by, and Annabeth, Percy, and Thalia were all in the underworld. Percy and Annabeth were at the judging panel right now while Thalia has smacked him upside the head for leaving her when she first entered Elysium.
"Luke!" Annabeth called for his name. For some reason in Elysium, the souls could take the age of their favorite years. Luke has chosen his last year with Thalia, who died an eternal maiden. Annabeth looked 16, just like the years of the titan war.
Luke got up and met Annabeth with a loving hug. "Did I fulfill my promise?" He asked.
"Yes you did." Then, she judo flipped him.
Luke laughed. Then he had a serious face on. "Annabeth, I'm trying for rebirth." He said suddenly.
The reaction was unexpected. "I'll go with you." She said.
"Thalia already said yes, so I was waiting on you." Luke said. Annabeth helped him up and hugged him back.
"But where's Percy?" He asked.
"He-he's in the field of Asphodel." She said. "He died, but the judges thought he was bad too. He had done so many things that also resulted in the death of so many."
Luke was stunned. How could someone, like Percy, even get rejected? He was the best man he knew, loyal till the end.
"How about we visit Percy with Thalia, Annie?" Luke called her by her childhood nickname.

This Short Time Skip is Sponsored by Kronos. He wishes you all a cursed day.

Time Skip

Thalia came with them when Luke said they were going to visit Percy in the Fields if Asphodel. He stood on the edge of the plains, lingering with the forgotten souls of Silena, Ethan, and so many more.
"Gods bless these poor souls." I muttered. The words flew away, turning into a bright blue ball. It sped to the group of fallen demigods and sparked their spirits.
We all watched until each soul had been lighted up.
"Goodbye, Luke. Goodbye, Thalia. Goodbye, Annabeth." They all seemed to say.
"Goodbye, friends."

"Gimme that!" Annabeth jumped for her book. Her older brother, Luke, took her book right out of her hands.
"You have to catch me first!" Luke ran away, laughing like crazy. He sped past the school gates, ignoring the protests of the guards. Annabeth followed in pursuit, trying to get her book back.
After a while of chasing, Luke stopped.
Thalia had a dress on. A dress.
"Shaddup. This is for graduation only." She grumbled. Luke and Annabeth covered their mouths, trying to stifle their laughter.
"So this is why we didn't see you this morning!" Annabeth said between her gasps of laughter that would randomly explode from her mouth.
"You're lucky today isn't graduation for you, Annie. I can't believe that elementary is nearly over and I have to join him." Thalia pointed to Luke, but said in a teasing tone.
"Hey!" Luke protested.
"Oops, sorry, coming through." Someone said behind the trio. Luke turned around and saw a small boy about Annabeth's age. He had raven black hair and green eyes that were the color of the sea.
"Sorry." Luke made way for the little boy. "I wonder who's that." Luke wondered aloud after he passed.
"That boy? He's in my class. I think his name was Percy Johnson or Perry Jackson." Annabeth answered. She unslung her backpack and dug through it. She pulled out a book and held it like a trophy. It was the year's yearbook.
"Here!" She flipped through until she stopped on one page. Annabeth shoved the page in front of Luke and Thalia's faces.
"Percy Jackson, class of 20xx." Annabeth said proudly.
"Oh." Luke leaned back after studying it. "Percy Jackson, you say?"
"That's... a very special name." Thalia said. She started walking to class. "Well, I'll leave you two to adore over a little boy."
Annabeth blushed furiously. "I'm just answering Luke's question!"
"It's not like I really asked." Luke smiled. "Plus, I have algebra to go to." He patter Annabeth's head. "See you later, Annie."
Annabeth waved goodbye and happily skipped away, her soul not realizing that Percy Jackson was Perseus Jackson reincarnated.

Luke posed for the photo booth camera with Thalia and Annabeth.
"Hey! Get back here!" He heard someone yell after they got their photos. Luke, Thalia, and Annabeth both got their ten to twenty pound backpacks and ran to the source of the sound. They saw a large black hound running away from a boy with a baseball bat.
"Mrs. O'Leary! Come back!" He shouted.
Luke stared at him puzzled. "Whatever. Just some kid chasing after their dog." He waved the situation away.
"Yeah, come on, Annabeth. We have middle school to curse." Thalia took Annabeth by the arm and dragged her away with Luke.
Luke stared behind him, wondering how the name was so familiar, Percy and the dog.
