-Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.
-The sound of alarm wakes you up from your deep sleep.
-"Ugh, it's time already?" You groan as you heavily open your eyes & look at your phone screen.
-3:00 AM. Time for suhoor.
-You want to wake up but you are too sleepy because you had a very late night.
- "Just 5 more minutes." You press the snooze button & close your eyes again.
- Right then, your phone rings.
- You try to ignore it but it keeps ringing.
- "Arghhh, who is it?" You grumpily grab your phone & check the caller ID.
- "Taehyung?" He's your neighbor turned best friend & you secretly have a little crush on him.
- "Hello?" You clear your throat & pick up the call.
- "You're punching that snooze button right about now, aren't you?" He asks, you can hear the smile in his voice.
- "No." Flustered that he could see right through you, you immediately rebut.
- "Ya, you can't lie especially during this holy month." He chastises you.
- "Ok ok, I was going to sleep for five more minutes, but now I'm wide awake." You grumble as you get off your bed & walk to the kitchen.
- "So what are you having?" He asks.
- "I think I have some leftovers in the fridge, buuttt.. I don't apparently." You huff disappointedly after you see the content of your empty fridge.
- "Oh no, so what are you gonna do now?"
- "I guess I'll just skip it or have some crackers." You stagger back to the living room & collapse onto the couch.
- "What do you feel like eating?"
- "I don't know. KFC? Hahaha." You randomly say.
- "Fried chicken? This early in the morning?" He asks in disbelief.
- "You know I love my fried chicken. Ughh, stop asking. You're making me even hungrier now."
- "I gotta go now. I'll call you back in a few." He suddenly ends the call.
- "What's going on?" You look at your phone & mutter to yourself.
- You search the cupboards for any food but there's nothing.
- "I really need to do grocery shopping." You heavily plop back on the sofa & sigh.
- The doorbell suddenly rings surprising you.
- "Who is it at this hour?" You suspiciously look through the peephole.
- "Taehyung?" You instantly unlock the door for him.
- "What are you doing?" You exclaim in surprise.
- "Ta daaa! You said you wanted KFC, right?" He smilingly dangled the plastic bag with Colonel Sanders cartoon on it.
- "You bought it for me?"
- "Well, yeah. It's just a few blocks down the road anw. Here you go." He hands the bag to you.
- You didn't expect that he would get it for you, so you are completely touched by his kindness.
- "Thank you." You smile at him.
- "No worries. I better get going." He motions to step away.
- "Wait! Why are you so nice to me?" You cautiously ask, heart beating at a million miles an hour.
- He stares at you for a few seconds with his deep dark eyes before he opens his mouth to speak.
- "Because you're worth it. Because you're an important person to me. Because.. I've liked you for a while now." He ends his heartwarming speech with a gentle smile.
- Your heart skips a few beats listening to his confession.
- Is this a dream? Am I dreaming?
- "Ow!" You exclaim in pain as you pinch your arm hard.
- "What's wrong?" He asks in concern.
- "N-Nothing. I-I thought I was dreaming. Apparently I wasn't. Haha." You chuckle awkwardly.
- "Alright then. Enjoy your meal." He waves at you & walks towards his house.
- You watch him until his figure disappear in the dark.
- Then, you step back inside & open the box Taehyung gave you.
- A waft of delicious smell hits your nose.
- Warmth spreads inside your chest & a wide smile lifts the corners of your lips.
- "Oh no! I forgot to give a response to his confession." You hit your forehead with your palm.
- You quickly grab your phone & text him.
