I was walking along the sidewalk, my bestest friend walking by my side. The cold air nipping at our noses. I shiver in my hoodie, and sigh.

"Hey Alex, ya wanna smoke a cigarette?" I ask him, and he looks at me.

"Sure."

I get a pack out of my pocket, and take 2 out. I light it up and hand the lighter to Alex. I take a puff, and exhale.

"Were going to die doing this." Alex bluntly says, also taking a puff.

"I know." I say looking at the sidewalk. I take another puff, and sigh once more.

"Then why are we even doing this?" Alex mutters, exhaling smoke from his nose.

"Because we are idiotic teens who think were bad asses, and wear to much black clothing." I answer him, smirking.

"That makes no sense, but ok."

We walk a little further, and soon we reach my neighbor hood.

"Can't we hang a little longer?" I say looking alex in the eyes.

Im not ready to face the wrath of my dad tonight...

"Sadly, we can't. Curfew for us is almost up. Its 7:45, and your dad told me 7:50 tops. Why? Ya wanna hang with lil ole me longer?" He does a duck face and i snort.

"I kinda do wanna hang longer.." I trail off hoping he doesn't notice that i have fear growing inside me.

"Whats the matter? Does Mr. Bad little boy loooovvvveeee me?" He says stretching out love.

"First, don't call me that. Second, i kinda don't want to face my dad right now..." He looks at me confused, and i shake my head.

"Never mind. Bye-" He grabs my hand and makes me face him.

"Alright. Spill the tea. Something happened."

I shakily sigh, knowing that he ain't gonna let this fly.

"I may or may not of had a fight with my dad..." I began, and he nodded, telling me to continue.

"I may of also said some things, and it triggered him causing me to get... Punished..." I choke back a sob, not wanting to let him see me cry.

"Mhm. I knew it. Its ok dear Laurens, you can cry on my shoulder. I kinda knew ya had some daddy issues." He let go of me and i put my head on his shoulder awkwardly.

Then came the water works.

He rubbed my back, and i gave him a wet shoulder in exchange.

"Let it all out, this is what friends are for." He said softly, and i flipped him off, still sobbing.

"Fuck my emotions and you."
