IWCWAA (chap 3) [Original]

         ~Chapter 3~

“Maya! Get up! You too Viktor if you want a ride to school!” I groaned at Momma’s loud yelling. It was the only way to wake me and Viktor up though. We were deep sleepers.

“Dammit….” I groaned, blearily looking around my new room. It had been a week since we got here and now the walls were painted a teal color, going pretty well with the dark wooden floor. There wasn’t even carpet in the entire house, actually. I had positioned my bed in one of the corners, the head of the bed on the same wall as the window that led to the first floor roof. A blue, plushy circle rug was in the middle of the room and my black metal desk was in one of the other corners, my huge bookcase beside it. It was lined to the brim with the books and some even sat on the floor beside it because there wasn’t enough room.

Finally I reached over to my bedside table and checked the time on my phone along with if anyone had texted me. I blinked. Two messages.

Ryan: Mayaaaa, I miss uuuuuu! I’m so bored D:

I checked the time, scowling. 2:14 AM. Is that boy fucking insane? I quickly texted back.

Me: Are you nuts? U fuckin’ idiot, why the hell were u up at 2 AM?!

I sighed, shaking my head. I had known Ryan since fifth grade, back when we were ten. We were both seventeen now and in 11th grade, making it seven years in which I’ve known the idiot.

I checked the other message, seeing my best friend. Isabelle and I had met in 2nd grade and have been inseparable since.

Belle: Maya D: I miss u! And text Ryan! He won’t let me sleep!

That was around three AM. I sighed, facepalming. I quickly texted back.

Me: Just did. He’s an idiot.

I locked my phone after that and got up in one quick swoop. I had to or else I’d be tempted to just cuddle back up in my comforters. They were black and silk, therefore they were awesome and comfy. All my sheets and pillowcases were silk as well.

Damn, I loved my bed.

I padded over to my dresser, cursing the cold floor all the way. I pulled out some dark green cargos and a black DC tank top. I then grabbed my teal jacket and slung it on. I did my morning routine of straitening my slightly wavy reddish-brown hair, rubbing my mint-green eyes of any sleepies and proceeded to put on deodorant, spray on my French Vanilla perfume and then pull on some black ankle socks. I never wore makeup. Perfume was girly enough for my taste.

I padded into the small sitting room – which we had already set up with a black leather couch and a smaller bookshelf which was also filled to the brim with my books. There were even some sitting on top of it and around it – and then down the spiral staircase, yawning.

“Morning, konfetka*.” Momma said and I nodded, sitting at the table in the kitchen. Viktor ran into the kitchen, fastening his belt with half his hair brushed. I stared at him for a moment before facepalming. My brother’s an idiot.

“Viktor….ty glup*.” Momma sighed. I snickered, nodding in agreement.

“Offensive!” He snapped, pulling down his shirt and running back to his room after grabbing few pieces of bacon.

“That boy….” Momma sighed and I shrugged, nibbling on my own piece of bacon. The boy was thirteen, what’d you expect?

I finished my bacon and quickly washed my hands, yelling. “Viktor! Let’s go before I leave your ass!”

“Coming!” He shouted. I headed over to the front door, pulling on my black and white plaid DCs. They were the boys DCs, not the girls. The girl’s shoes suck and always have colors I despise.

“Here.” He grumbled. He had taken the room on the first floor, grumbling about how it was farther from me. The only bad part was it was closer to mom, therefore he can’t stay up late like me.

I glanced over him nodding. Dark blue jeans, black and white Nike sneakers and a navy blue and silver shirt that brought out his brown eyes.

“You’re trying to impress the chicks at school, aren’t you?” I questioned as we walked outside. He smirked, nodding.

“It’s a new start. Might as well make the best of it.”

“You may have some looks, but if you bring home a whore, she’s gonna get eaten. Right Plazma?” I asked. The husky had followed us outside. She was mostly black but had a white chest and paws. Also, there was a crescent shape on her forehead, right above her crystal blue eyes.

Plazma let out a bark, wagging her tail. I ruffled her short fur. We had cut it when she was a puppy and for some reason, it stayed only an inch long. Probably from adapting to the heat of the Nevada summer.

“Alright girl, go inside.” I ordered. She barked again, licked my hand and then bounded towards the porch.

“I’m so glad your car got here yesterday.” Viktor sighed. I nodded as we climbed into my Chevy Corvette Z06. It was pure black and suited with a loud-ass stereo system and green lights underneath. Momma had it shipped over to Wolf Haven but it hadn’t been here at the time we had arrived because of a weather delay for the plane.

Sometimes I loved that my mom had became a big-name scientist. A lot of money and an A is Science class, given I knew most of this stuff by the age of ten. I’ve even almost completed my four-year college degree. I’ve been taking Dual Enrollment in High School since ninth grade. Plus I had completed all 24 credits required to graduate by the time tenth grade started. Now all my classes were just random. Art, Keyboarding, Writing, etc. I just took what I wanted, it didn’t matter. The only reason I was still in High School was because if I wasn’t, I wouldn’t converse with anyone my own age.

Viktor was the same way. He could’ve been in the same grade as me, if he wanted.

“Maya. Wake up.” I blinked, glancing over at Viktor. I was pulling into his school, not even remembering driving.

“Well….I’m beast.” I stated, clicking my tongue. He snorted, rolling his eyes.

“Whatever. Just make me look cool.” He ordered. I looked at him like he was an idiot and sighed, turning onto a rock station on the radio which I’ve recently discovered. You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid by The Offspring instantly started blowing up the speakers and he grinned. He formed a heart with his hands before pointing at me. I rolled my eyes, easing on the brake and coming to a stop. The kids around the car loop was staring at the car with wide eyes.

“See ya, brat!” I stated over the music and he nodded, giving me a thumbs up before grabbing his backpack and getting out of the car. I could see a few of the girls already eyeing him up.

I chuckled as he closed the door and pressed on the gas, squealing the tires just for the hell of it and shot out of the parking lot. I didn’t even know why Middle School started at the same time as High School but whatever.

As I pulled into Wolf Haven High School, I stared up at the huge red brick building with a blank expression. Well….this place looks lame.

I sighed, pulling into a parking spot and turned off the car. People were staring at the car again and I felt my eye twitch and got out of the car. I didn’t even own a backpack, given the fact I remember everything I’m told or everything I see. Stupid photographic memory can get annoying sometimes, but it has its benefits. I locked my car then headed towards the school.

“Who’s that?”

“I want her car.”

“What is she wearing?”

“Dude, she’s hot.”

I felt my eye twitch as I headed into the office, ignoring the looks I got from the other students. Stupid people, go back to your damn lives and leave me alone.

“Ah! Miss Molniya!” I blinked, looking over at the front desk and smiled.

“Nice to see you again, Mrs. Freeman. Can I get my schedule now?” I asked. The front desk lady was someone I had met a few days ago while mom was registering me for school. She was really nice, actually. She looked about forty-two with short brown hair and bright blue eyes.

“One moment, dear.” She said cheerfully, pushing away from her desk in her wheeled desk chair and rolled over to a filing cabinet. She looked through a few folders then rolled back over to her desk, handing me the folder.

“You said you didn’t need a locker, right?”

“Correct.” I answered, skimming over the map and my class schedule. I instantly created a route to every class and nodded, handing the papers back to Mrs. Freeman.

“Got it memorized. You can keep this in your files if you want, thanks.”

“That’s amazing! And you’re welcome. Hope you have a nice day at Wolf Haven High School!” She called, waving as I nodded, heading out of the office.
